SciFi Wire has posted an article that features an interview with Scott Benza and Scott Ferrar from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). Within the interview, the two supervisors from the first two Transformers films talk about the third film. Scott Benza confirms that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee’s robot modes will receive subtle changes. They believe that Bumblebee has matured through the first two films and will receive an update to make his physique look more mature, while Optimus Prime’s update will make him look more heroic.
Elsewhere in the interview, Scott Ferrar mentions that they have an outline of the movie in hand and that the script is mostly done. The ILM art department is currently working on turning 2-D work into the 3-D characters.

We're pretty much guaranteed to get new molds for the 3rd movie, certainly of the main characters. Hasbro like selling toys, and we like buying them
I'm interested to see how they can top ROTF prime and HA Bumblebee, which were pretty definitive movieverse screen-character toys. Also, if they'll finally do a good megatron – i wouldn't be suprised if they pulled out all the stops on t3 megs and he was awesome, given how thoroughly shitty his previous two leader figures were

Chevrolet helped with mis-info last year. They told us that the Volt was only being used for one scene or so, and not as a Transformer. It's not hard for me to believe that Bay could get ILM in on this.
I'm not saying it IS misinformation (I actually believe it isn't), but it could be.
