Official images from Takara-Tomy of the Transformers Revenge Buster Optimus Prime have been posted on Japanese retail site Hobby Search. These new images show the full extent of the modified paint job and new accessories for this new Optimus Prime, from adding the outlines of the flames, to a more metallic silver in place of the first version’s gray, to a chromed bumper and of course, the huge new gun. Because I could never risk damaging it, I'll get both it and the standard Leader. This is one work of beauty. I do hope though Hasbro will at least give us Premiums of the Leaders. All the others are decent enough.

Really don't like the metallic paint at all. It looks too messy on the face, and too tacky everywhere else. It's kind of cool on the edge of the flames, but it looks too cluttered.

I wouldn't waste my money on it.

ummm, I just wanted you guys to know, I live in the philippines and I stumbled upon a site (since Im looking for another prime cause I messed up the prime I was customizing hehe) the site was offering for 4000pesos or $85 a buster prime though what they're saying is it will be available on december, I hope theyre exagerating (anyway Nov 21 is close to Dec). what I like about this deal is that its only 1 one-hour bus ride away from us which means I will be saving 20-45$ on shipping minus the hassle of transacting on the internet and overseas etc etc. if you want to say something or have an opinion bout this I posted a thread on the toys discussion ^_^

Buster Primes great, definitely going to change the heads, haha, and I wont be able to resist adding the gold accents to some of his parts. this is awesome, hands down! definitely a buy!!!

I need that. I'm passing on the Leader Primes still in stock right now because of this guy. Why just get twin swords when you can get twin swords and the bad-ass gun, too?

And if I don't end up getting either ROTF Prime, oh well, I still got my original movie Prime.

I don't see Hasbro actually passing on doing another release of the new Leader Prime mold in some kind of new paint scheme, whether that be Premium or Ultra Magnus or Night Attack Prime or whatever.

I'm hoping they think outside the box a bit and make a Nemesis Prime out of it. And then do a white with red trim Jetfire for some really bizaar combining TF goodness. I can imagine it in my mind, and it looks cool, but in reality it would probably look bad.

I wonder why many people think that this toy can be made at a cost low enough to sell at retail for $45. It has extra acessories, extra paint apps, and possible chrome or metallic paint. Those are not cheap to do.
At Botcon 2009, Hasbro Officially said that there were no plans for a premium line. I was at the panel. If there was any possibility of a release in the U.S, they may remove the blades to cut costs.

Hey guy. The paint is possible because TakaraTomy is charging 1000 yen or so more than usual for this toy. They can do that in their collector-friendly market with flexible price points.

Think about Hasbro trying to explain to retailers (and customers, for that matter) why they would charge $10 or so for purely cosmetic reasons, especially in these tough economic times.

Hasbro: See, this toy is also a leader class, but the recommended retail price is $10 more.
Retailer/customer: Why?
Hasbro: Because it has more paint.
Retailer/customer:….

i'd argue with the near shameful lack of paint on most of the ROTF line they could justify doing a repaint (i.e. mold costs ~theoretically~ recouped by first release) like this, just like they did with the Premiums for the first movie line.

I dunno, I'd argue that in some cases (HA MF & Skids & Sideswipe) the deluxes are better.

-that is of course, aside from the mass-shifting on the backpacks & Skids doors shrinking to being front deltoid armor…

I think the only possible way they could ever top this version of Prime is to incorporate a lot of the additional transformation bits that we originally saw in the prototype that Hasbro later decided to scrap, revise the cab interior so that it's parts-free and can hold passenger figures along with details like steering wheels & seats, add a retractable faceplate, and replace the plastic tires with rubber. Considering how far they came and how insanely accurate they got just with this Leader size, I'm pretty confident that a larger size class or Masterpiece version will be the ultimate money shot.

Between this figure, the Voyager and undoubtedly the Leader version of Starscream, and the HA figures, it's cool to finally see how all these CGI models could actually look, function & transform in the real world without sacrificing or cheating too much.

Honestly, this completely annoys me. Hasbro said no premiums this time, so now they put out another $45 figure with options that could/should have easily been included in the first release.
Nice looking, but pass on the principal of it.

I Pre-Ordered mine from a local hobby shop in the Philippines called Wasabi Toys. Buster OP costs 79.99 USD here. I'm not sure about the shipping cost if your ordering from abroad. IMO it sure beats the Pre-Order+Shipping in other countries.
