Well good luck looking on Youtube. They are deleting the sneak peaks due to copyright claims by Viacom. Lucky me I downloaded the Video with free FLV converter lol. sucks its in low quality due to that.
I'd assume that when the Insecticon was ripped apart, the other Cons were notified to it going offline. That, or it broadcast Sam/Mikaela's location before it died – as you said it did "scream" in a high-pitched kind of sonic burst…

How are they used to speaking English?!? They are residing in a crashed spaceship on Mars. They are only talking to humans when it is necessary in order to get something they want. There is NO reason that they speak English at all except to satisfy fanwank. Not that they shouldn't speak English every now and then, for the sake of the story.
I was very happy with the amount of times they spoke English in the first film, although a few more interaction scenes between Cons wouldn't hurt, as it seems they are doing in this flick.
If Screamer or Long Haul WERE mumbling "where are you little shits" or shouting "come out", I think I'd feel a bit embarassed for the filmmakers. Seriously, having any characters talk for the sake of talking is just bad screenwriting. It's part of why I hated Anthony Anderson and Isabel Lucas in part one.
I agree. In the first movie when all the Decepticons said like "Brawl moving out!" In cybertronian it was just so cool! There was only like 2 lines in there and they only speak Cybertronian because they were probably saying "They're in there!" and if they said that out loud in English, Sam and Mikaela would probably get away. Although, Probably the main cause is the screaming of the insection might have alerted Starscream to their location…

Thn why shouldn't the Autobots say everything in Cybertronian when they aren't talking to humans? Besides I think speaking there would fit the character of Starscream. If it were Soundwave, then probably not. But it's ambitious, loudmouthing Screamer we're talking about!
Because the autobots are probably used to earth by now and are so used to speaking english. Decepticons are still hiding out. Besides, being deceptive is their whole angle.
It was a cool clip. It seems to me if I was searching for someone, I wouldnt want to give away my position, so speaking cybertronian there makes perfect sense. I still cant figure out who is running toward the battle in the background at the end of the clip. Im guessing Bumblebee but I dont know. Could be Jolt. Havent seen much of him. Id also like to say that its a little weird when the term fangasm and stuff is used…it shouldnt excite you THAT much. Maybe just teenagers use that term.
Well starscream did say something when ripping the roof and going after Sam & Mik… it was in cybertronian, similar in sound to his decepticon roll call in movie 1
Im sure it was tried with dioluge but just didnt feel right or flow as good. Bay left straight after to finish audio so who knows but in the grand scheme of things i feel there will be plently of Decepticreeps speaking as they now know the general audicence wont just get up and leave muttering under their breath "okay big alien robots i can handle but talking alien robots i want my money back and years of therapy"
forgot to mention…….. That was great, lots of bots, the shots were nice! I liked them. Wow.. weird… anyways, only complaint (yes there has to be one) was that the decepticons didn't SAY anything….. well i heard some grumbling… but nothing understandable… not again…….. agh.. how much better would that scene have been if one of the decepticons had been coaxing them out verbally in a very sinister way too? Not in a grandstanding scene stealing way, but just subtley in the background, something to give them a small amount of charater to help them seem real as well.
For me it would have made it perfect… anyways, looked nice!
So yeah.. for me bay took it up a notch with some of his directing decisions in those scenes… i like. also… did anyone think it looked like megan fox almost twisted her ankle while standing there or something? lol or was she pretending to be a robot? i didnt see the awards. anyways……. very strange…….
Don't know if this has already been said or not… But if you download something called Ultrasurf 9.4 it will mask your Ip and you can visit all site internationally… That's how I use pandora and watch southpark on the main southpark site.
i didnt think the scene needed defending because i thought it was only a minuet and a half of a 2 hour film and rising to the bait of the movieverse haters isnt something i care to do. IMO scene = win + Movie will = Epic win. But hey what do i know, cause im obviously not a true fan because im open to interpitation beyond what was done back in the 1980's and that I realise that this is for a new generation of kids who now get to have their own stories and play as their transformers in the playground just as i did when i was a child
I am glad to see the defenders of this scene finally showed up. I can't believe people are actually whining about the lack of dialogue. The mood established here was perfect.
Who says they shouldn't? If it's done within a proper context it would work just as well for the Autobots as it would the Decepticons. Context is the key.
I understand where you're coming from, but keep in mind what is being proffered here. The Cybertronians are extremely foreign characters moving in and out of a 2.5 hr live action movie made for a broad audience; therefore, the framing for said characters has to be relatively strict, otherwise there is a risk of losing the effect and, by consequence, the audience. Now, I have no idea how Starscream will be characterized in TF2, but whatever traits he exhibits need to be portrayed in a manner that contributes to the story as well as serves the character. Seeing him in this clip working with a team, firing his weapons, on the alert, makes him seem smart, determined and deadly. That's much more important and carries more weight than him being a loud-mouth wannabe spouting obligatory words.
Why should they talk? I mean, honestly, within the context of scene, story and character, why would they go around jabbering? "Keep your optics open"? Why would anyone say that? It is dialogue for the sake of dialogue. The scene is perfect the way it is.
Let me ask you this. If there had been a lot more dialogue for the Cons in the last movie, would you care at all that they didn't talk much (if at all) in this particular scene? Do you think that, if there is pleanty of dialouge amongst the Cons in this movie, do you think you will care when this scene rolls around and they don't?
I mean, if one person could think of meaningful, purposeful dialogue, then great…but come on, lets think of something a little better than "Keep your optics open."
