We have been receiving reports that Wal-Mart may be releasing the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen toy line a day earlier than the May 30th street date. According to an internal memo circulated to all stores, toy departments have been directed to carry out the toy aisle reset on Thursday night, and cover it with plastic, then at 5 pm local time on Friday 29 May, to uncover the display and begin selling the new toys. It might be worth checking out if you are on your way home at that time on Friday to check out your local Wal-Mart and see if you can pick up a few new Transformers!
Be sure to share your findings with other local fans on our Transformers Sightings board.

I can confirm that 3 stores local to me are all putting them out tomorrow night as well. One lady was kind of a bitch though.
I asked when they would be out, she said "tomorrow night".
Trying to get better confirmation on 5:00, I asked "I heard some stores are putting them out at 5:00"
She replied "Which would be tomorrow night" *click
ah well, work all day Saturday, so this is good news, as I can swing by on my way home Friday.

I don't have to worry about getting the ROTF Soundwave at my local Walmart. I received an email from Walmart this morning letting me know it has been shipped.
But I stopped by there several days ago and they still had plenty of Universe and Animated figures and I did'nt see no indication from them to get ready for the ROTF figures. But I have seen it at Target.

my walmart says the 30th date still stands

Could be that Hasbro rescinded the street-date. Street-dates are only as good as Hasbro says they are. If Hasbro wanted to change their mind today and say "Put 'em out!", they just have to fax a memo and blammo … ROTF on the shelves.

Heck, I personally witnessed a guy take a Hot Wheels car from a child's hand and RUN.
I don't get it. When I was a kid, we HATED Hot Wheels and only wanted Matchbox. Getting a Hot Wheels car instead of a Matchbox was akin to asking for Transformers and getting a Gobot.

I plan on heading to the Wal-Mart after work, since it's only a couple of miles away and on my way home, no less. I'll probably check today to see if there's any signage that they're doing it.
Hopefully, there won't be much of a crowd, since it's more out of the way for fans in neighboring cities than ones near major interstates.
EDIT: Looks like this Wal-Mart is participating. Went there on my lunch break and they've reset the regular aisle and two of the adjacent stand-alone pallets for ROTF, though only a few knick knacks are on the shelf. Either they're putting them out tonight in preparation for tomorrow, or they're wasting a lot of shelf space just to be practically barren for two days.
Although I wouldn't put it past them…
I have seen HW collectors open cases off the pallets during stock times and pull out every single Treasure Hunt (rare, shortpacked cars w/special packaging) they can find, along with other moderately rare or hot selling cars before the case even gets shelved.
Hot Wheels collecting is SRS BUSINESS.

If this is true, and we should probably know tomorrow, then I know were I'm going after work. The local Wal-Mart is extremely close to work, it is .2 miles from work's parking lot to the gas station they have. I hope there aren't any scalpers but it is an extremely small town so I should have prime choice in what they have. Unfortunately they don't have Legends or Robot Replicas on the new layout sheets they put out today but it will probably be a few weeks before I have the money for anything other than the Deluxe, Voyager, and Leaders if they put out the first few waves like others are reporting finding.

If this is true…why 5:00? People will just be getting out of work, it's the weekend, so traffic's going to be a pain in the ass, and there will be people all over the store. It has potential chaos written all over it.
I was hoping for the midnight release for the peace and quiet.

id contact your local walmart to check, some ive found out havent heard a thing about it and wont be doing it.
Penedo_pt
I was told that Toys R Us here in Portugal is going to release the toys on the 29th at 9pm.
Can anyone tell which wave is going to be available?
Toxicon
Pardon my youthful ignorance, but what's so terrible about hot wheels collectors? You guys make them sound like die-cast Nazis.

Not too much longer, the wait, I crave Leader Prime!

very cool.glad i took the day off of work then

I've seen the paperwork and it looks like its a company wide memo, so if all local Walmart's honor it and set it up, its legit for ROTF to be released at 5 PM local time on the 29th.

has anyone else confirmed if this is true or not? im basing my whole day on this
Red Alert
Let's see if they honor it though.
Spongezilla
I'm gonna try. They wouldn't let me buy Robot Replicas Starscream last week, and if they have any thing that can transform, I'll probably past on him.
Mister Gone
Anyone have any idea on an official case assortment? My gf works warehouse at a Target but they are shooing away the employees even.

29th ?????
I'll believe it when i see it.
Knowing wal-mart, the date code won't unlock till 30 or 31.
Last movie dxs were released week or 2 early,
but wallys wouldn't unlock codes till scheduled date.
Wait and see???

I can confirm this. The toy guy I work with told me this yesterday. I'm working friday night but as soon as I see them, its break time.
