2005 Member GenZhao reports that the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Toyline (which has not even officially been released yet) has already had several knockoffs made of the toys. These knockoffs include a series of miscolored Soundwaves with multiple heads, and oversized versions of the Scout Class toys Dead End, Dirt Boss and Depth Charge.

I find this extremely interesting, as the ONLY figures I've been interested in for ROTF have been a few of the Scout class. If I can get the Scout class figures in a larger size, at KO prices? I'd be all over that.
Hilarious also, that oversized KOs are already out in China when the legit figures haven't even come out in the states yet…

It's a rainbow of Soundwave's! Apperently Soundwave takes Skittles seriously.
And a multitude of heads! In case you wanted Soundwave to have a new head every week. I wonder if they work for the red/yellow Soundwaves too?
Deluxe sized scout figures are the cherry on top. Neat.
There silly but, I don't want them.
WarMachine73
Yeah but given enough shots of Jaegermeister, bad ass can start looking real good real fast. If Hasbro doesn't start getting their sh** together, I'm willing to put back a few and "take one for the team" as far as these ROTF figures are concerned. If it comes down to going without or regretting it in the morning, hey, I can live with regrets. It's not like they've done dupes of Breakaway or Wheelie yet so it can't be THAT embarassing.

In China, during the G1 cartoon, the producer (I have no idea who did that) named the character Starscream as "Red Spider".
The word "Scream" pronounced in English sounds like as "spider" two words in Mandarin (the national language) ever since that it was a well known character by that name. But funny, they didn't use the first part of the "star" but since starscream's primary color is red, starscream was renamed as "red spider" in the show.
In Hong Kong, native language is Cantonese , the producer named "starscream" base on its meaning but not the pronounciation. When I was a kid, watching the cartoon from TV, I never learned their English names, now thinking back; some uses the pronounciation while others use the meaning if the words do mean some object; for example Optimus and Megatron are renamed base on the pronounication, while bumblebee, starscream, ironhide, jazz, skywarp, thundercracker are all by their meanings…

At teh rate of price hikes I might just pick some of these up.

Nah, not now. I got exams.. T_T Thanks tho

Malaysian here too. just so you know, a certain amount of these RoTF KOs have been spotted in the Petaling Street Wholesale Shop. Go get em!

You can never have too much blue for Soundwave.
Those two archrivals sharing the same mold? Blasphemy <_<
Oh, is the knockoff Soundwave the same size as the original?
ROTF Soundwave looks like a good toy, actually.
Yep. China, Malaysia and a lot of other countries may not be major markets for Hasbro/Takara, but these places get exposed to the Transformers hype and media, and thus have demand. But even if the original toys are put on sale, it doesn't necessarily correlate that the price will go down a great deal.
That's where the KO makers come in – they produce mainly for domestic consumption, but if someone offers to export their knockoffs, they aren't going to turn away such an opportunity.

Come to Malaysia, man. Original Deluxe TFs cost 55 bucks our money, 110 bucks (our money) for Voyagers and 200+ for Leaders. That's why us Malaysians go for the KOs, cuz a typical Voyager class KO costs 20 bucks our money.

I'm looking forward to a Deluxe Knockout. Even if the colour is bad, but the joints are reasonably tight, I'll just recolour and remodify it
grimlock1972
heh the KO makers know much money the toys from TF1 made and have seen the hyper for TF2 so thereis no way they are gonna miss out on potential profits from TF2

This is what happens when people steal the toys from the factories.
It gets into the wrongs hands, and this is the outcome

i remember the old days when my parents would buy me knock offs of transformers or dragon ball z without realizing, and they would just be the most random looking things.
mikeyfuzz
wow, that didn't take long. I hope Hasbro is on the ball with these.
_Galvatron_
That was fast.

I like that Decepticharge the most.
As for the rest… holy god, those look like ass
Skylock
Wow, what a bunch of crap. lol
Gigatron_2005
KO makers should just stick to knocking off GOOD toys and not this ROTF garbage.

"MAKE MOAR, LAZY CHILDRENS, OR I SHALL FEAST UPON YOUR SOFT FLESH"
I remember spotting a bunch of cheap knockoffs in the local flea market here in Tallahassee, specifically a fast action battler Starscream renamed "LATENT SPIDER."
STARSCREAM IS NOT A SPIDER WHAT THE FUCK
RATENT SPIDELUUUUUUU!
He was, however, a wasp for a day.
mirarage
KO's already??
They could at least wait for
reg toys to come out first
