Gotta admit that when I read the description of the gimmick, I though it would look "lame."
Color me surprised! That actually looks pretty cool!
Why? You still need a Hasbro (or Takara) Optimus Prime to tow the trailer.
Mirage? Explain me what happened to Omega Supreme's body!
After seeing this, could it be possible for FansProjects to create a size changing Cosmos or Astrotrain.

So much win
Enigma2K2
… so THAT'S what happens to the trailer! Ohhhh… I get it now!
Now can someone explain what happened to Mirage?
Yobuster
Looks good that's what i got to say. it took me a few moments to identify what i was looking at in the picture. All i saw was carpet. Damn ingenious. But of course if you have a bot standing in front of it, it'll ruin the mirage. The stealth mode only works well if there is nothing in the vicinity.
I wonder how this compares to the other trailer products from BTS Toy and others?
Skywave
I finaly decided to pre-order this trailer! I have the City and Shadow Commander upograde, so I can expect a great product I was fine with Prime not having a trailer, but since UM got one, why not Prime too I'm also really interested in the weapons comming with the trailer for other bots, so it's a great bonus to include
Angelwave
My thanks as well Venksta. I'm sure you given quite a few people some peace mind with that statement without giving out the details.
Automorpher
Thanks Vensta, that sentence is all I needed to know for now. As long as the production number doesn't get a big cut then I reckoned the trailers shouldn't be priced too ridiculously upon release. Well, hopefully.
G1Wheeljack
It's possible that Classics/Universe could be conisdered a G3, since we've already had G1 & G2
Venksta
Actually, the only numbers we do officially have is 500 for Powered Commander. Originally, BBTS said City Commander was limited to 2000 pieces. But that was due to a misunderstanding on their part, so they corrected themselves, but did not list how many there really were. I do know the real number, but was asked not to share, so I'm doing my best to help you guys figure out why G3 isn't really limited. At the same time, I need to respect FansProject's request.

Accidentally the initial FP somehow misled me to think Fun Publication ?!!? Did they make that ?
OH NO WAY!! My mind thought… They don't make awesome thing like this , do they.
Fans Project indeed … Awesome !! Awesome toy/accessories… order to order it without a second thought.
Radioactive Ravage
For a second I looked at the pic and was like, "Oh… it's just a clear version of the trailer."
And then I went HOLY SHIT.
This is an amazing way to explain the disappearing trailer. So fun of win that I'm going to HAVE to buy it now.

I hope not. If they don't bother producing more Botcon exclusives, then they should not do more TFCon exclusives either. You snooze, you lose.
OptionZero
As a new company they would probably rather create less supply than demand and guarantee they sell everything rather than produce too many, not sell them, and lose money.
Plus it builds up demand for future products:"damn, i missed out on city commander! i better pre-order Protector asap!"
I missed out on City Commander, still saving up for the hiked up prices; caved in and got Nemmy prime and Shadow Commander instead for now; caved in more and pre-ordered the G3 trailer.
and so it goes
Bgrngod
City Commander – 2000
Shadow Commander – 1000
Powered Commander – 500
Those are the release numbers I've seen tossed around repeatedly. They actually are limited compared to previous releases. Why FP would make them limited is a mystery. Clearly there is quite a bit of demand still. I'm hoping they screw the pooch and put out more Powered Commanders so the "fans" that still want one can get one for less than $300.

Saying production will be more limited is a marketing technique designed to increase demand and boost sales. Shadow Commander was claimed to be more limited the same way. Of course, not as many people would like to upgrade Nemesis Prime as they did Ultra Magnus, which is why it is still available in some places. They could decrease the production numbers by 1 and still be telling the truth. I have the first 2 commander trailers so I am fine with that.
As stated before G3 would stand for Generation 3, which is a good name to call the Classic Series.
Automorpher
Thought the production number of City Commander was capped at 2000, no?
At least that was the information as provided by the toy shops that were doing the pre-orders back then.
BlindWolf
well thats pretty kool, explains how it always "disappeared"
still i prefer bbts's version, more modern design
0R10N P4X
Stealth mode? LOL! I can already see birds smashing into that thing.
process
Generation 3, I suppose.
n_tel_ekt
This may be a dumb question, but any particular reason their calling it "G3" trailer? Never heard the term G3 til this came. Skool me, o sages!
