In his third review on our 2005 Boards, Deceptigtar covers Rampage, from the Deluxe class of the main Transformers Revenge of the Fallen line. You can check out Deceptigtar’s review and extensive images of this cool little Decepticon by clicking on the title bar.

I don't think they actually do.
Fallout
pfft… no… i just tuck that flappy bit in above the legs and it sits pretty well.
Snake_eyes1975
did you figure out how the pistons connect to the shovel?
Fallout
okay, after a few days with this guy to figure everything out and get the transformation down… he's fantastic. i underestimated him at first. turns out the cab does indeed fold in more in robot mode and the engineering on the shovel is really great.

Agreed – I really dig the complex transformations.
The on-screen models are impossible to replicate in plastic & the ROTF figures did a great job of trying – which created some very complex figures.
Granted the Legion figure does this more smoothly – but the Deluxe figure is more involved, more poseable & to me, much more interesting.

While not one of my favorites, I do appreciate and enjoy Rampage, and all the RotF Constructicons, for their unique robot modes.

I use his dozer blade backpack as a chair:
Mix has his own "kibble-chair", too.
Sideways77
Sniff. I like Rampage. :C
I just keep him in pogo mode, remove his backpack, and position him On my shelf.
Fallout
okay, looked up a video, realized what i was doing wrong – those little plates on his legs weren't flipped up. his vehicle mode sits together real good now.
i have to agree with noideaforaname though, this guy and mixmaster really are pretty complicated and massagy, and i see where the complaints about the rotf toyline come from. i mean, they look pretty, but so do long haul and bludgeon, and i don't want to have to spend 20 minutes transforming them, lol.
Noideaforaname
These Constructicons remind me of how unnecessarily convoluted the RotF line got. It's not even that the designs are too complicated, the Legends managed to get an incredibly simple but very effective transformation out of them, which makes the full-size figures fell like they were made overly complicated just for the sake of it.
Still like them, though. Not so much transforming them, but all lined up in either bot or vehicle mode they're pretty nice looking.
Snake_eyes1975
You know..I have that one..and I cant figure out how the hell the hydrolics hook up to the front blade of the dozer

The plate with the Decepticon Logo (in the back) is impossible to place down all the way due to a last minute redesign of that section (the addition of a screw or something iirc). But all the other issues you mentioned should be avoidable with some careful transforming and a little massaging.
Fallout
got this guy last night… not impressed. his front… pipe-things like to slide down in vehicle mode, the transformation is too fiddly and the treads don't touch the ground because when i bend the knees to tuck them under they randomly pop back out. also the back end of his vehicle mode is gappy and messy, there's no way to get the plate with the decepticon logo to sit flush and the claws in the back don't stay pushed together.
Bitter Cold
Can someone with the figure handy take a shot next to Animated Blitzwing?
I'm really wanting to know how those treads compare to his in size.

i heard some people complaining about yellow on that desert rampage.but this pic clearly shows that rampage has yellow
jametron
Right on… besides I like Rampage a lot regardless. Looking forward to this new one!

Yeah.. But don't forget that the bulldozer used as Rampage in the movie was a Caterpillar D11.. And the toy isn't officially licensed as a Caterpillar D11, so Hasbro/Takara had to do a mold of a similar looking design to a Caterpillar D11, hence there are bound to be differences such as the wheel set up etc.. This is also a similar case to the Sideways toy which isn't officially licensed from Audi as the R8 used in the movie.. The same goes for the bikes of Deluxe Chromia and Arcee..
jametron
Yeah, the only real screw up is not having the proper look of the wheels that the treads wrap around… I never realized how different my toy is compared to your film shots. The toy has your basic 2 wheel set up, whereas the actual vehicle in the film has 3… like that Cobra HISS tank of yore!

Yeah, amazingly, the details on the shovel is painted. At first, I thought it was a remold too, then upon opening it up, I was surprised that its actually paint. Nonetheless, very nicely done!
