Really? Right colors? Lets see, the henkei hotshot looks better, henkei hound is actually a decent shade of "army green" instead of the bright green hasbro version(that also has almost no paint apps in jeep mode), white powerglide anyone? Even is Hasbro didn't do the chrome(could honestly live without it), they could at least get the base plastic colors right.

JAAM licence plate is awesome! To include a nod to the comics (Ratchet's plate) is one thing, but a nod to a fan edit of a mini-comic mocking the product in question is certainly another. Kudos to Hasbro!
Also, we have to keep in mind that TakaraTomy products are more expensive than Hasbro's, and since both Hasbro and TT products are made in China, we can guess that TT allocates a higher budget per figure.
I gotta admit I'm contemplating getting both.

Yep, pretty much unacceptable. I do own a Star Saber, and will display him (the Henkei) with it, but come on.
red00wolf
He has no weapons…that really bugs me.

The license plate doesn't sway me as much as the missile launchers do.

Unfortunately can't see the pics due to the bandwith, but sounds like the best fanwank ever. I was already buying it but this makes it even better!
Iron Spider-Man
:O
Wow, seeing the license plate makes me wonder where everyone was at on the one eBay auction for him, for the last hour… hopefully I can pay for him today or tomorrow and have him by Saturday. JaAM is MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE.
Autobot Burnout
Wow. This figure (or figures, counting Jolt) is totaly unlike anything I'd expected, but very fitting for the Classics line slot he has. The back kibble looks rather neat, and if they had to sacrifice the axlezooka for better articulation then all the better, as I still have the original Hot Shot who can do that. The revolutionized transformation scheme looks better than the original's, too, and the alt. mode looks more like a heavily moddified Audi TT w/ a body kit, something the original toy lacks.
But JaAm just puts him in the "need NOW" list for me, Hasbro, you've stolen another $10 of mine. (I can't get Henkei anyways, and even still I'd get Thrust rather than Hot Shot.)

Personally, I think it's great when I can come to the boards and hear people's reasons for going with one version over another, helps me make up my mind. Otherwise I never would have started buying Japanese TFs, which I always considered to be highly nerdy and a waste of money… until folks on the boards convinced me of the generally superior product Takara puts out on occasion. I'm glad they opened my eyes, and I appreciate people weighing in with their opinions to help me form my own! Isn't that the point of a message board?
Unless you're not saying to stop TALKING about the differences… just that people need to back up their opinions with fact and be a bit less touchy. In which case I'd agree with you, that's just common sense!
As for Hot Shot, I think I originally said that I was furious HasTak would take up a spot in the stellar classics line and devote it to a stupid character from a stupid toyline/cartoon. But looking at the original figure and this update, it's obvious that they put a lot of time and effort into it, and the "meta-ness" of the JaAm license plate puts it over the top. I might actually pick the guy up, my initial reservations notwithstanding.
And the Henkei version is far superior, IMHO.
giga-galvatron
I wonder why he doesnt come with the weapons like Henkei does?

no pictures show for me, just bandwidth exceeded messages.

Hahaha, JAAM is awesome! Was going to get this figure anyway, nice added fun bonus!

Am I the only person who sees more of Energon Hotshot in the vehicle mode than Armada Hotshot? That would certainly explain the blue instead of black plastic on some parts- sort of a double refference (Energon vehicle mode- Armada bot mode) if you look at it that way.
Also guys can we just stop with the stupid li'l arguments over who's buying which version? People should just be glad some one is buying the toys at all! Each company has its own reasons for how it dresses up its product, just like each fan has its own reason for buying said product. That being said:
Henkei people: Stop touting "the Japanese toys are better" all over. You look really egotistical and its annoying.
Classics people: Stop being so defensive and quick to jump on people. You look really aggro and its annoying.
Soundwave84
Yeah i am def buying this one!!!

Trust me, you want the painted window. Considering Hasbro's track record for using clear plastic for the entire doors and painting over them … well, less chance of sticky paint coming off Hotshot.
Shin Densetsu
This is one of the best posts I have ever found to start a day off.
The only thing I don't like about this figure is that the side windows are painted. It throws the look of more than Hasbro's 77 Camaro Bumblebee did.
