An employee at Walmart has posted information from their modular guide regarding the shelf reset date for movie-themed toys for later this spring. The post on a.t.t. confirms a shelf date for May 29 for Transformers 2 movie toys! Walmart’s toy department top brass is expecting Transformers to be “far and away the largest action figure license for the year” and are dedicating “major space” to the upcoming line!

Do the Russian doll thing with two suitcases. Piece of cake.

While it will rock to have the toys at BotCon, I don't know how I'ma get everything home…
I may have to have a 4 way roommate split for shipping back to Indiana.

I bought every one of the first releases last time at Target (I only went there for the exclusive Voyager Prime), but I remember that the employees had to bring them out case-by-case because there was only one end-cap dedicated to the movie line.
Hopefully there's a better release schedule for the new line. Getting a leader Prime and no Megatron last time was a bummer.
I already put in a vacation day for the 29th, and with payday being the 28th, it'll be a very relaxing, very EXPENSIVE weekend.
WooHoo!

I for one won't be buying any ROTF figures at Botcon, because as soon as I return home they'll be in every store. Why pay the money to ship them or trying to pack them in suit cases. Same thing with Animated, the only one I bought in advance was a BB so I could get it signed. That being said I might buy some ROTF if they make sense to get signed.

This simply means more money in my wallet for the Botcon dealer room as I will not be spending a dime on those toys. Thank you Hasbro!

Pete, if you CAN answer this question (because it's going to make a big difference concerning my travel arrangements)– when you say BC will be "teeming with ROTF toys", does this mean that FP is making an arrangement with some company like Hasbrotoyshop that will actually HAVE lots of ROTF toys there, at Botcon, for roughly retail, or that a bunch of dealers will probably hit the nearby local stories and have them for above-retail?

Yes, I have a feeling BotCon will be teeming with ROTF toys and that will just be

Up here in the artic of Canada, my Wal-Mart forgot to get the original toys in. It took them two full weeks after the shelf date to get the first movie toys out at all. Thanks a bunch Wal-Mart, but I'll be heading over ot my local Zellers or Toys R Us for RotF toys.
SKowl
I wonder how long it'll take before the toys are entered into the Wal-Mart computers and we can get some listings for the different figures…

Well with this news and the fact that it was so well-timed. Perhaps we Botconners will see it before May30. i.e. Once most of us arrive at Pasadena on that wed or thurs it'll be available already. Of course that'll cause our wallets to stretch thin in buying Botcon gear AND movie gear. Aargh I'm going to be super broke! But hey it'll be a blast for sure. I'm bringing an extra suitcase.

Oh crap….my wife is going to kill me when I tell her about this new release….my wallet too.
yovnocrats
so, Wal-mart is going to overstock and cause another crippling drought/ shortage on new figures? I really hope that doesn't happen. These need to sell and Wal-mart needs to keep fresh orders, or this is going to be disastrous.
Tell_Story
I will be exerting much patience and waiting until the premium line comes out next year! I did this for the last movie toys and it paid off. I will probably have to get Deluxe Soundwave though because he will sell out and will probably not have a premium repaint. It's just not worth the risk!

Well I guess on the bright side at least that puts a date on when I'm out of the Transformers toy collecting hobby. Ha ha, and I can figure out what to do with money when I'm not having to spend it toys.
BigRC83
Right on time for BOTCON. Always excited to see new toy lines on the shelfs.
AniProwl
I hope this movie's toyline is not as long as the last one's or we might not see Universe 2.0 until maybe the end of the year.
