BIO: “With the destruction of MEGATRON, OPTIMUS PRIME thought he was finally, after millions of years, at peace. Little did he know that the escape of STARSCREAM would draw dozens of new DECEPTICONS to Earth. The desire that burns brightest in his Spark is that the war will soon end. He is determined to see that end come, and so he works with his human comrades and the other AUTOBOTS to hunt the DECEPTICONS that have come to Earth, and destroy them, one by one.”

Yeah, they're confusing 2007 with 2008. In 2008 we saw a lot of stuff because it was all Hasbro fiction-based toylines. In 2007 they only had Leader Prime, the voice changer helmet and Ultimate Bumblebee out in public, which frankly, made Hasbro's booth look rather pathetic for anybody who wasn't a retail corporate buyer.

As I recall, we were treated to a lot of new stuff last year. It's where we got the first pics of Universe Galvatron and other Universe and Animated figures. Unless you mean two years ago when the movie toys were under wraps, and even then I seem to recall we got a few figures to look at.
Peaugh
I'm waiting on one myself. The figure isn't even available to the usual suspects yet. The packaging is done, but the figure doesn't even start mass production until after the holiday.
Weremole
15th Jan if I remember correctly.
I had no idea Superbowl whas so soon though. I'm not very good at US holidays.
Waveride
Whats the date for that so called convention
Shin Densetsu
Doubt we will barely see anything……..
netkid
All in shiny unrealistic photoshopped perfection.
Optimus Prime
That, and they'll probably only show remold Bumblebee, Cybertronian Soundwave, Leader Optimus Prime, and, as a bonus treat, the Scouts we've already seen ten billion times by now.
netkid
And so will be a private showroom where only retailers get to feast their eyes on the amazing new product offerings.
Meanwhile the press & public will be left with just a list of what's to be offered.
Just like 2007.
Darth Rodimus
sweet, cant wait

Screw toy fair, by that time we'll already have a trailer…SuperBowl.
Weremole
Toy Fair is in three weeks. Patience.

I thought they said the marketing would star, all we've seen so far in about a month is a new teaser poster and nothing else (officially).

amazing transformation
Its amazing what a little effort on the toymakers part can do. This might be the first toy I buy in years ! its that good.
This is just such an amazing sculpt. Finally we get a toy that matches the complexity of the movie design.
I don't care if the transformation is at "masterpeice" level, I want this.
I hope this marks a new era of transformers. I LOVE the movie's complex designs ! i
I don't care if every toy they build from now on is just as difficult to transform as MP megatron… if they can get them to go from vehicle to highly complex robot .. i'm game !

AFAIK a big part of the reason they chose a 379, was because they wanted/needed the biggest truck there was so as to make Prime big without mass shifting (much). They didn't so much choose it, as tell the guy "get the biggest truck there is, whatever make and model that happens to be".
Though choosing just about the biggest fighter jet ever for Starscream didn't help things much. (but of course, even the relatively tiny F-5 still dwarfs a truck)
