Bad animation, is bad animation. Regarding the reasons why. Notice I'm not saying TFA's animation is good, I'm just saying Armada's is worse.
Since it seems Matt liked Armada, I don't buy the problem he has with TFA is due to the animation. I think the true culprit (sp?) is TFA's character design.
IMO it's better to say "I don't like TFA 'cause I don't like the characters design" than "not a fan of the low budget animation" when the animation itself it's on par or better than most other TF shows.

Takao
I have my money on Armada Megs, he did become Unicron in Energon various times, and besides, those minicons can be used as projectiles to toss at the other guys.
Matt has a point though, there is a reason why the show isn't completely animated by Studio 4C, they cost much more money, but as a result, give you a much better product in return. Compare Studio 4C's work (the opening, and stylized stock footage transformation sequences) to Studio Mook's work (everything else). There is a very big difference in quality, Studio 4C's work is detailed, on-model, vibrant, lush, and just great. In compairison Mook's work is dull, off-model, and ugh worthy. If the show wasn't on a tight budget which studio do you think would be getting most of the work?
Also it is definately not fair to compare Animated to the Japanese series, Animated isn't airing week after week for a full year. And it is even more unfair to compare to Armada, Armada's animation was rushed because of Cartoon Network because IIRC they aired the show on weekdays for a while. Animation isn't something that can be done fast with quality.

Awesome, your stuff rocks, man. Anyways Armada's Meg's is definitely the best.
BTW, I totally agree with you, TFA sucks for the most part. Not just because its designs look like they were done by five years olds, but the cliche characters and other stuff play a big role in it as well.
StarFire_MK2
Awesome strip Matt, I've missed seeing these!
Oh, and for the people whining about his Animated comment: suck it up and grow up. He was asked why he didn't include Animated Megs, and he answered. Simple as that. This is NOT the place for yet another Animated vs every other cartoon TF series debate.
Classy comeback, kudos to you.

I vote for Shattered Glass Megatron!
Ok, so he's not in the pic, but write-in nominations are ok, no?
AniProwl
Hilarious. BW Megs is the best there is. The panel of RID Megs reminds me of "I'm a Marvel and I'm a DC"* Green Ran– I mean Goblin.
*- Does anyone watch those?

Awesome comic as usual. Matt's been at this long enough to know six panels is plenty for the sake of the joke. It ain't an indictment on Animated or any other Megatron (ZOMG u left out Shattered Glass MEgs U SUKK).
Jukebox Prime
"A Freakin' Hand!"
How can you argue with that?
shumworld
I'd go as far as to say he's a combo of another. Armada/ Energon Megs. That's the show where they promote the idea of megs being a master swordsmen.
Takeout
"Ten modes means ten times the leader."
RiD, you do know that in Japan you're crazier than G1 Galvatron?
DECEPTIKONBRAWL
HAHA thats priceless!
shumworld
RID all the way.
