Roberto Orci has answered more of your questions about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen! Among the topics covered this time is Soundwave’s key personality traits and Roberto Orci’s response to the leaked concept art. He also touches on subjects ranging from the writing process of the Movie, to the possibility of the creator of the Transformers, Primus, getting mentioned, to Optimus Prime’s personality and the possibility of evil humans facing off against the Autobots.
You can check out a full summary of the responses by reading on.
On behalf of the staff of TFW2005 I would like to thank Roberto Orci for answering this latest round of questions. If you have a question that you would like to ask, you can ask it in the Welcome Mr Roberto Orci You May Ask Him Questions Thread on our 2005 Boards. Filming will end in two days time, in other words, November 6.
Will Primus be mentioned? The answer to this: “Perhaps… certainly some form of deep back story and mythology will be important.”
About Soundwave: Roberto Orci confirms that “all signs point to yes” on several of the traits that make Soundwave what he is making it into the Movie. This includes the monotone vocoder voice, his loyalty to Megatron and his minions such as Ravage.
Staying on the topic of Soundwave and Ravage, Bob commented on the leaked concept art of Soundwave, and stated that the “concept art appears to imply it is Ravage who is a truck, no?” (Although the robot mode sketch has a clearly visible truck grill in the waist – what could this mean? Speculate on our 2005 Boards!)
Roberto also addressed the question of if there will be evil humans “Certainly, not every human will be on their side.”
In closing, a few final comments from Mr Orci about what to look forward to in the new movie – for example, Optimus Prime “hasn’t changed a bit!” from his humble and self-sacrificing personality presented in the first film. Also, with regards to how the writing process has worked for this sequel: “we start with the characters we know we have to have and start by imagining what they’d be up to two years later if we were merely thinking realistically, and we go from there.”

Boy are you a couple of decades late…
Alienbot
Why not both like the Japanese continuity? The Quintessons tapped into Primus' essence to create the Transformers, not taking into account the AllSpark giving them freewill…
UltraMagnus3786
Anyone prefer the Quintesson creation myth over Primus? I think that is more "reasonable" and appropriate than introducing the idea of a transformers god.

If he is saying that Ravage is that truck, I have a theory. Notice how the Soundwave design has elements from that vehicle too. Perhaps, that robot design is actually Rumble? He has the big heavy arms, reminiscent of the piledriver look, and two back "prongs" that are a bit like his G1 back guns/missilies. Also, he could have the Soundwave head crest because he is made in his master's image? Perhaps he and Ravage both have the same truck mode or even combine into a single truck?
It is also worth noting that one of the images shows two meteors coming from the satellite, these could be Rumble and Ravage in protoform mode, and this design sheet is showing us their earth modes.

That is what I am hoping, for Welker being the voice of Soundwave.
trebleshot
I would love to hear Welker and a vocoder as Soundwave again!
As for Ravage being a truck, I'm surprisingly unconcerned. He's also been a micro-cassette, a humaniod robot, a Corvette and a Jaguar (both the feline and the car) before. What's one more alt mode to add to the list?
Shouldn't that be "KITTEH NOT TRUKK!" instead?
And superior to Constructicons, for they are inferior.
nerdimus prime
please everybody…can we just stop this ravage is a truck / good idea nonsense.
Chaos Prime
I've always admired people who answer questions by not actually answering the questions.
Starscreamer95
I actrualy really like the idea of Ravage been a truck.
It would be awesome if Soundwave sent Ravage to Earth when he was in his satalite mode, would kick ass!
Soundwave needs Frank Welker to voice him. PLEASE MR. ORCI, PLEASE!!!
Primus huh? Hmm… would love to hear one of the Autobots say "Primus help us all!" when the Constucticons formed Devastator.
Velcrohead
Huh?
Mechafire
I really hope by "Evil humans", they don't mean Animated esque. (The only thing I hated about the toon.) I hope they mean the Pretenders, or the part of Sector 7 who is pissed at them. I hope it isn't the Autobots, going around putting criminals in jail.
Teh-Shewz
Fail!
As long as sound wave has his voice. Like said earlier…..im just gona close my eyes.
And if……ravage is the truck that would be a cool transformation and scene.
Keep soundwave the satellite, ill be quite.
vini88
Wasn't there a toy R/C truck on set? Could that be ravage?
webz
still don't believe a single thing Orci says. Sorry, bud. I believe leaked art and scripts before I'd believe a company shill.
Smokescreen
QFT! Gotta get Welker in there somehow.
WWMEGATRON
Definitively !!!

I hope they give Soundwave his proper uncharasmatic personallity.
DarkKnightPrime
Ravage isnt a truck, He didnt say that, it seemed that he said jokingly, the concept makes it look like ravage is the truck, soundwave is the friggen pickup truch, hence the crotch area, and the lights of the vehichle poping up in the back.
Powersa
cool. The Ravage thing is confusing though.
Paradigm-Shift Prime
A little too much lack of clarity and 'possibly's for me at this point. Seems sort of more like he's trying to obscure concrete rumors/info that have come out than provide us with new info.
