TF08.net’s yizhi521 has posted more photos of upcoming Universe goodies. Today it’s a nice set of images of the only known Universe new mold in Voyager size, Inferno. He’s considered a Generation 2 homage as the 1993 version had a water gun feature on top of the truck, replicated here with a water-shaped missile!
The other new toy we see is Universe Special Edition Drag Strip, a repaint of Classics Mirage in his signature yellow. Check out all the mirrored photos at left, or the original threads linked above!

Drag Strip looks awesome.

You know… I've seen that posted before and every time I get a chuckle out of imagining that being said in Nemoy's voice.
Well, like I said, based on the interview it's very likely that this is the case.

I do beleive I will be buying Inferno and the rest. The Ultra's are off my list cause of the cost. But does anyone know if they have come out with a Deluxe version of Jazz for the Universe line?
Optimus Sledge
Fingers crossed that this is correct.

Inferno is definitely growing on me – at the very least, it's very true to it's G1/G2 roots.
I'm also starting to warm up to Dragstrip as well – seeing that the yellow isn't as godawfully bright as the HTS product photos made it look – this looks much more accurate to the shade of yellow used on the original figure.

As a fan who grew up with G2, the homage is impressive. G2 had more than tacky color schemes- there were some great new molds in that set.
Having both the TFC reissue and my war-torn G2 original, I can honestly say I prefer the G2 revision to the fists- the G1 fists are prone to accidental firing.
The bulkiness of the mold reflects the animation model. I imagine Botcon '09 will be bringing us a Red Alert to team up with him.

Inferno's HOT HOT HOT! Oh yeah, so is Drag Strip.
Rumble02
my only complaint is the head. he needs one that is more dragstrip and less mirage
BigRC83
Yeah. Thanx.

For what little it's worth, it IS a pretty accurate face color.

So far, they've been Ultras.

I'd pretty much bet on it based on what was said in the latest TCC Magazine. They're working with Takara to design the remolded parts from the beginning so that we're not just buying new paint when the repaints come out. Soooo… being as Grapple doesn't have a new head they'd just design crane to replace the water cannon.

This is what I've thought Hasbro will do since I first saw Inferno. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
BigRC83
Inferno looks nice I guess. The emergency signals are clear. Hopefully HASBRO will fix that. It should have been Hot Stop to keep up the gestalt leader voyagers.
For Dragstrip ugh….another repaint with an all spark power blue face. PASS.
Weirdwolf
I see nothing wrong with either figure, and both will be must-gets for me. The more they do with these kinds of figures, the better. Heck, I'm even selling my vintage collection and still getting these. Way to go, Hasbro! Keep up the good work!

Inferno's looking beautiful, and I guess I didn't realize that the HTS exclusive guys were going to be packed in robot mode, with a window.
That's really purdy.
Grimlock_13
I dunno, they could just as easily replace the water cannon with a crane like they did for Energon Inferno/ Roadblock.
Grimlock_13
Inferno looks great! Lots of detail there that wasn't visible in earlier pics.
Already have Dragstrip preordered…can't wait!
Mastodon
Inferno is perfection. Please give us a Grapple!
