I'm not sure how big the Activators are exactly, but I don't see any of their heads, let alone Cliffjumpers's, working on anything bigger than them or a Scout class figure. Also, this may just be my opinion, but, Cyclonus has plenty of purple on him. I'm not sure where else it would be needed.
Cyclonus is mostly Blacks and blues some body purple, then sudden silver all over the wings. They need to make his target master black and silver, and touch Cyclonus' wings up with purple. That's my opinion though.
As for activators, they are about the same height as Classics BB, I double checked comparison shots for that one. Since Deluxe Animated BB's head is too big for classics BB body, but the activators one is just right since that classics mold is short anyway. Plus BB activator is ball jointed on his head. So while it may not work on Animated BB deluxe (he is rather big for a BB), it might fit pretty well and still transform even on classics CJ.
here's something i'm a little confused about: if i read everything correctly, IDW announced Hasbro would be making a 'Drift' figure, correct, but then Hasbro said they weren't making any other IDW characters? Did they confirm they are doing Drift? did they indicate a time-frame anywhere?
While they didn't really confirm they're doing Drift, I think the statement was just said so that people wouldn't give their hopes up thinking that they had any more than Drift planned. As far as I know nothing other than the fact it was going to be made was ever said about Drift. Even the line it'll be in wasn't said. It's only been speculation that he'll be in Universe (which is a good guess, imo).
G2's already covered with Legends Megatron, Skydive, and Air Raid. (But I certainly wouldn't say no to more!)
Whoops! Forgot about those. Guess I oughta update my little list.
Agreed. People are acting like G1 Inferno didn't also have a big truck cab for a chest. And the head is dead-on G1.
True. about the only thing that comes closer to the Energon version is the choice of a water-cannon truck instead of a ladder truck.
It wouldn't surprise me to see some new decos for a couple Terrorcons, or something, but I doubt we'll see new molds based on Energon characters. But then, I'd never have guessed Armada Hot Shot would get a new-mold toy.
I have the feeling that, with the exception of a repaint here or there, Universe Hot Shot will be THE representative for the entire A-E-C trilogy.

1) Was there anything new in the showroom after the panel?
2) If so, did anyone take pictures?
Unfortunately it wasn't like last years panel where the team dropped science and surprises and then everyone was able to go view them in person afterwards. Someone did ask if the new figures would be in the cases after the panel, the answer back was along the lines of "the toys aren't ready yet."

If there had been, I'm really sure that we would have at least heard something by now, if not also got pictures to go along with the report that we would have seen.
G2: No idea yet, but could be easily dealt with using a repaint or two.

Energon: some think Universe Inferno represents Energon, but that seems like a stretch.

I hope cliffjumper's head is still ball jointed. Hopefully it can easily be moved to the deluxe animated body, or better yet, classics CJ body. =D
Ravage will look sweet once painted. And hound having his shoulder cannon is utter win. Loving cyclonus, but too much silver, not enough purple… yet again. (Silver GUN, PURPLE WINGS! How'd they get those two confused. >_<)

y more Dinobots? there are already 3, and only one talks
Eh, personally I hope they add them anyways. Would be cool if they could give them and the other two Dinobots voice actors. Maybe their budget will for the show will grow a bit as it goes on so that they can get them voice actors. Personally I'll just be glad to see more Dinobot's turned into toys.

Energon: some think Universe Inferno represents Energon, but that seems like a stretch.
From what I remember they said that he's specifically a G1 homage. Personally I don't see much similarities to the Energon version. The basics of his transformation are about it, and even then it still does a great job homaging the original.
"25 Years: Celebrating all eras" yet no love for Beast Machines? Hilarious.
All they get are 2 Robot Heroes. You'd think they could've at least given us something.
Outside of maybe the Robot Heroes, I doubt muchly that every TF line over the previous 25 years will be represented with a toy in the Universe/25th line. (updated slightly)
G1: Plenty of representation so far Japanese-exclusive G1: rumored/listed Robot Heroes G2: Legends Megatron, and some exclusive repaints MW: Wouldn't bet on anything BW: Cheetor and several RH's BM: Robot Heroes at least RiD: Robot Heroes at least Armada: 25th Hot Shot, K-mart classics minicon set Energon: some think Universe Inferno represents Energon, but that seems like a stretch. Universe 1: wouldn't bet on anything from an all-repaint line Alternators: No idea Cybertron: No idea Classics 1: Aside from being a repaint source, no bets. Movie 1: Probably nothing except mold and character carry-over into Movie 2.

There is a nice long video of the whole panel on Tformers.

nice for anyone who wants to see/hear for themselves.
I love it when the crowd applauds.

Yeah, but the inclusion of a water cannon could be another nod in the G2 direction, too.

The Deluxe BB's head is about twice the size as the Activators version. O_O

I was the one that asked if they are making Universe toys out of the Thirteen Comic.
