Transformers Ultimate Guide Paperback and New Visual Guides

Allsparker ZacWilliam1 reports finding new listings in the Barnes and Nobles computer system for a Transformers: Ultimate Guide Paperback, a new Transformers: Visual Guide and a new toy collectors guide to Transformers. The Ultimate Guide appears to contain 8 more pages than the previous release. For more details click here.

With a title like that, I certainly wasent expecting it to be illustrated by Pat Lee.

Tough decisions on what/what not to cram into eight extra pages of the Ultimate Guide. Finally came down to a whole new section on IDW and recent toy lines (Alternators, Classics). Though there were lots of suggestions floated at Botcon (for which I thank one and all), this seemed to bring us most up to date. If I'd had another 4pp, I'd have definitely included TF Cybertron, but t'was not to be. Maybe if they do a third edition!!!

As for the Visual Guide, it's entirely movie-centric. It's kind of like an Ultimate Guide for the new movie. Lavishly illustrated, background on all the characters (stuff you won't get in the movie ) and so forth.

Plus, while I'm plugging TF books (sorry, Chris), there's You Can Draw Transformers, a (classic) TF-centric art book. Illos by Guido, text by yours truly. Think that's out about the same time as the Visual Guide.

Phew. Now I've got to actually write this stuff!

If these are coming out through IDW, then hopefully my comic shop can reserve me copies. I look forward to the picture books the most.

Am I the only one who does not like this book? The info is spotty the toys pics just plain suck (I mean how hard would it be to get complete and transformed correctly toys)

The old Ultimate Guide is pretty cool but I'm not repaying for an update unless it's something big.

I think I'll wait to know exactly what's on those 8 extra pages before buying any other Ultimate Guide.

Now, the visual one if it's anything like the Star Wars ones, I'm in!

Heard about this at BotCon, for some reason I thought it was a no-no to bring up.

Yeah, Kicky. I was at Simon's panel when he was talking about this. I remember him saying that they were looking for new information to put in the Guide, so that it would be updated with Super Link/Energon and Galaxy Force/Cybertron stuff. I didn't realize it was going to be out so soon. I never got the first one, so I think I'll pick this one up.

Dang, you beat me to it! I have that Joe reference book and it's simply awesome…by far the best book of it's kind out there. Didn't know though that Mark knew anything about TFs. It oughta be interesting seeing his perspective on our beloved hobby.
