Transformers Revenge of the Fallen makes $400 Million Domestically
It may be nearing the end of its epic run in theaters, but Transformers Revenge of the Fallen still continues to rake in the money, and today has passed the $400 Million milestone, according to BoxOfficeMojo! At $400 Million, Revenge of the Fallen has taken in nearly $80 Million more across its lifetime than the first movie in 2007.
This puts Revenge of the Fallen within touching distance of the all time $403 Million domestic of the first Spider-Man film and the number 8 spot on the top 10 highest domestic grossing films, unadjusted for inflation. On the other hand, Revenge of the Fallen has climbed to the #67 spot on the all time inflation adjusted chart, ahead of such classics as Disney’s Lady and the Tramp, the original Rocky and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
All told, not bad at all for a film almost universally panned by critics.

Transformers Caught in the Crossfire of the FCC Content Filtering Enquiry
The ongoing work of the Federal Communications Commission – involved in producing a report on all kinds of technical gizmos to help feature media content – has somehow gotten itself caught up in the Transformers Live Action Movie franchise. The group, Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, has complained to the FCC about the amount of advertising for Revenge of the Fallen and its associated toy line aimed at the young ones – especially because in their mind the films are content that would have got a higher rating than PG-13 years ago. Of course, the group has issue with most forms of advertising directed at children in general, so please do not take their comments too personally!
