We wanted to give a heads up to any fan that’s been around since the turn of the century, collected anything from Armada, Energon, Cybertron, the original Classics line, the first movies – Aaron Archer, big wig at Hasbro for Transformers and Hasbro boys toys in the 00s is now actively on Instagram. Why would this deserve a post? Well, Aaron was always an artist first, and he’s sharing some pretty awesome stuff lately. This includes sketches of the characters we know, plus a ton of original creations. Aaron was always cool with us and the fans when he was rolling corporate, so we figured a plug was warranted here. Check him out and give him a follow to keep up with his post Hasbro adventures!
There’s a lot of talk about Hasbro‘s financial status these days. Mostly because they have been extremely successful as a toy company, when its rivals such as Mattel fail to keep up.
In this digital age, it’s not easy to raise shares of a toy company by a whopping 150% within 5 years. Hasbro did it and is now getting ready for the next 5 years.
With Transformers: The Last Knight and My Little Pony: The Movie preparing for major releases this year. Production will soon begin on The Bumblebee Movie which is planned for a 2018 release. Hasbro also acquired the Disney Princess business from Mattel and is planning for some big releases for Spider-Man: Homecoming and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Hasbro has named Signature Publishing Ltd. as their Licensed Partner Of The Year. The company is best known to publish and distribute titles such as Transformers, My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop.
At the awards ceremony, Hasbro awarded some of their licensees silver awards, with one gold award for overall ‘Partner of the Year’. With over 60 licensees to choose between Signature Publishing, publisher of their four regular frequency magazine titles including My Little Pony and Transformers Robots in Disguise, walked away with the top prize.
“This award highlights our commitment and passion for all the Hasbro brands, and the quality of the magazines we publish”, comments Danny Morris, Managing Director of Signature Publishing.
A sad day here at TFW2005 as we report the passing of Dick Gautier. He has passed at the age of 85. This was originally reported by Neil Kaplin via Facebook and then later confirmed by his wife, Tess Hightower. Dick was known for his incredible voice acting in the third season of the The Transformers animated cartoon, most famously known for taking on the voice of Rodimus Prime after Judd Nelson left the role. Some of his other work includes Serpentor in the G.I. Joe series and Spike the Dog from Tom and Jerry.
Rest in Peace Dick Gautier. ‘Til all are one.
We’ve got a report from TFW2005 member Jarrod that another series of Transformers Alt Modes figures has arrived at US retail. There’s some confusion on what the wave is, but we’ll get to that in a second. The series spotted includes Hound, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, and Silver Optimus Prime, alongside repacked figures Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Megatron, and Starscream. These were spotted in a Wal-Mart in Orlando.
Where the confusion arises is in the wave numbering. Jarrod reports that the boxes he saw were labelled “Series 2”, with the assortment we reported on last week labelled as “Series 1”. His speculation is that the first assortment released last year is not being counted in the official wave numbering as it never arrived at mass retail. Given we know that the Kre-O Micro Changers did something similar with their “preview wave”, this seems likely, if a headache for those trying to maintain a list of Hasbro’s released Transformers toys.
This holiday season, Hasbro is bringing us several stories of their employees working on many brands at Hasbro.
Titled as ‘Hasbro Stories’ one of the episodes revolve around Carlos; an Enginerd (Engineer + Nerd) who is working for the Transformers Franchise.
Carlos, who is also knows as Mr. Secret Rock Star seems to have an impressive collection of Kre-O Transformers Mini-Figures (remember Kreons, everybody?) inside his cubicle. He says his job is to bring smiles to everybody.
It’s a wonderful webseries, which brings us closer to the people behind the toys we buy.
Check out the video, after the jump. #HasbroStories

HASBRO LETS FANS SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE TRANSFORMERS FRANCHISE WITH THE “POWER OF THE PRIMES” FAN VOTE
The fans can decide which Transformers character will become the next leader of Cybertron!
PAWTUCKET, R.I., December 1, 2016 – Today Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS), announced the “Power of the Primes” fan vote, an upcoming event that will place the fate of Cybertron directly in the hands of Transformers fans around the globe. Beginning on January 23rd, 2017, fans will be able to visit Transformers.com to cast their vote to help determine which character will join the ranks of Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime and other Cybertronian legends. The fan-voted Prime will be featured in the Transformers Generations toy line and brand’s Prime Wars Trilogy storytelling in 2018.
The Prime serves as leader of Cybertron, wields the immense power of the Matrix of Leadership and holds the fate of the Transformers universe in their hands. This leader is usually chosen directly by the Matrix of Leadership, but the “Power of the Primes” fan vote will put the fans in command and give them the power to light the darkest hour and choose the bot to lead Cybertron into a historic new era.
“Hasbro’s past Transformers fan votes have led to some of our most exciting characters, including Windblade, Victorion and next year’s Trypticon Titan,” said Tom Warner, Senior Vice President of the Transformers franchise at Hasbro. Our “Power of the Primes” fan vote will raise the stakes higher than ever. The Prime sets the tone for all things in the Transformers universe, and we’re excited to see which direction our fans want to take.”
The first round of voting will begin on January 23rd, when fans can visit Transformers.com to choose between three groups of candidates – Honor, Chaos and Order.
Honor: These legendary warriors will lead with honor and carry on the noble legacy of Optimus Prime.
Chaos: These powerful warlords will stop at nothing to become supreme leader of Cybertron, even if it means creating a chaotic world where only the strongest survive.
Order: These commanders vow to leave the Autobot and Decepticon factions in the past and unite Cybertron under a new order.
Four finalists will be chosen by the fans and revealed by Hasbro in late January. Fans can then have the final say by returning to Transformers.com to vote between February 1st and February 4th. The winning Prime will be officially unveiled during New York Toy Fair in February.

TFW2005 would like to congratulate the Unrustable Ba$tards team for hitting their funding goals on their Kickstarter. For those that may not remember – these are transformable bikes with riders that integrate into the robot, all original in nature. The KS is still live and they are working towards their stretch goals. The first is already unlocked, and they are only a tad away from their next one which is inspired by a certain anime where a futuristic red bike was prominent. 🙂 Head on over to check them out and support the project while you can! You can join the discussion here on the 2005 Boards as well.
In spite of a promising nomination, we are sorry to report that Transformers have been defeated in their bid for a place in the National Toy Hall of Fame. The robots in disguise were among twelve finalists which also included Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots and Care Bears, itself a tremendous achievement. However, in the final event, Transformers was beaten out by worthy final selections Dungeons & Dragons, the swing, and Fisher Price Little People.
Check out the full report via Pressconnects. We’d like to remind everyone that given the wealth of toys out there the National Toy Hall of Fame has a very wide field to draw from, and even securing a final twelve nomination is a massive recognition for Transformers. We anticipate that one day Transformers will join this august pantheon, and we look forward to that day.
