There has been much buzz over this year’s announcement of Shout Factory’s upcoming release of the Japanese Transformers Headmasters series. One thing fans have been hoping for is that this would mean subsequent releases of Masterforce and Victory, and thanks to a post by Shout’s own Brian Ward on the Shout Factory forums, we now have more light shed on that topic.
I can say that you should expect follow-ups of at least Super-God Masterforce and Victory. I can’t really make any promises, regarding Scramble City or Zone at this time. That being said, Headmasters will certainly be used as a rough gauge of the series’ popularity. After all, it is the only one of the three that is a direct continuation from S3, so we wouldn’t necessarily expect the same response to the subsequent series.
Followed later by (in response to if there would be a release set of all three series):
So what does this all mean? The sales of Headmasters will be used as a gauge to see whether other releases will be possible. While it sounds like we can somewhat count on seeing Masterforce and Victory, if fans want to see a release of Scramble City or Zone then it is up to them to support Shout and these upcoming releases. Who knows what could follow after that? Beast Wars II? Beast Wars Neo? R.I.D.?

Waiting for some kind of official statement on the Shout website before I make any move to change my pre-order.

:/, but wouldn't it be Shout and Hasbro teaming up on this? It's a shame, don't get me wrong i understand why it's better with subs and the original audio but some people as myself just prefer Dub strictly. Ah well, maybe one day..for now i'll just stick to the series we have over here in English

I preordered the headmasters set on amazon. But now its making me nervous that I should just have ordered the big box. In case shout does'nt get to do masterforce and victory sets individually.
Oh well. Support the smaller sets, so more people can stand up to the Victory.

I just wanted to add, in case the powers that be are reading, that I have all of these series on bootleg DVDs, some with dubbs, but I have already preordered Shout Factory's Headmaster set on Amazon. I will order the Complete Japanese Collection as soon as it becomes available. And I will buy Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo and RID, if they make them available. Thank you Hasbro and Shout Factory for making good quality versions of these Transformer series available to people like me.

Well, I guess that quickly settles that
Thundershot
there will be no english dubs.
Cyber-Scream
Awesome. I'll pick Victory up on the day of release (or just order it online). I just hope it has decent English dubs. I hate reading the subtitles on the episodes that are on Youtube.

I've never finished Victory just because of time, but I love it to death and would greatly enjoy buying it. This made my day.

Neo Beastwars
Will we ever get Neo Beastwars? To complete all the connection with all the series.

I really don't think Shout wouldn't have the money to commission an entirely new dub and then sell the thing for 25 bucks.
xanthax
I'd buy them regardless of subs or dubs. Already have the Headmasters set on pre-order out of hopes that it supports the cause of getting all of these released (and I haven't seen headmasters either).
iLuvM3
If it has a good english dub i'd buy it..not a fan of subs.

Agreed. I didn't care for Headmasters. Masterforce and Victory were much better, but I prefer Victory over them all.
I will buy these sets ONLY because more than anything, I want to see Beast Wars II & Neo released!!
Jazz-Bot
Sad to hear it won't be dubbed, but I'll still buy these when they release them (I'm totally confident all 3 will get released). From everything I've heard this Soundwave/Blaster fight is supposed to be amazing.

I REALLY hope we get Masterforce released here as it's by far and away the best TF show the Japanese ever produced. Unfortunately there's no way I can justify picking up that Headmasters set despite the fact it's only $20-25 and might make a stronger case to get Masterforce and Victory actually released.
Abrogate
Sadly no, we're not getting the bad dub, which is why I'm not interested in buying Headmasters. That dub made the series gold, without it it's awkward and boring.

"sparkle noooo!!!!"
X-Brawn
We did. It's called Transformers Cybertron….
X-Brawn
Will we at least get the bad dub on these sets? I'd watch those for the lulz!!!
"DARN THAT SOUNDWAVE!!! YYYYYYAAAAAAWWWWWWWNNNNNNN"
Lumpy
is Headmasters out already? is it dubbed or subbed? I've got HD, MF and Victory all on CD somewhere, but the dubs were awful… but if these are better, i'm so in.
