Lost Light #2 delayed till February 1st
Comicosity sat down with John Barber and Fico Ossio to talk about Revolutionaries by IDW.
Aaron Long: Revolution merged the Hasbro properties into a shared universe, with Revolutionaries now spinning out of the event. What will readers be seeing in this series?
John Barber: Lots of fast-paced action and big world-building. The Revolutionaries team is made up of Mayday (who’s a G.I. Joe agent), Kup and Blackrock (who are Transformers), and Action Man (who’s English). So they’re already kinda all over the place to start with, but right off the bat they have to team up with Rom and the Micronauts to fight the Oktober Guard and the new Storm Shadow. Nothing’s off the table!
AL: Will the Revolutionaries be addressing a particular ongoing threat, or will they be a specialist team facing new challenges all the time?
JB: In issue one, they assemble because an ancient artifact called the Talisman suddenly mu-tates a bunch of people into Dire Wraith -like monsters. Everybody winds up in the same place for different reasons, and the pursuit of this Talisman—and, more importantly, its secrets—drives the team on all their different adventures. And the Talisman’s secrets will reveal a lot of… weird stuff about the planet Earth.

Coming this Wednesday is Revolutionaries #1, the next phase in IDW’s Hasbro shared universe. iTunes have released a preview which you can check after the break. Description below:
THE REVOLUTION MAY BE OVER–but the future is just beginning! Ripped from the pages of the hottest crossover of the year, the REVOLUTION team of John Barber and Fico Ossio continue the action! KUP is a CYBERTRONIAN literally older than the universe; ACTION MAN is the ultimate special agent trying to live up to an impossible legacy; MAYDAY is a G.I. JOE leader trying to rescue her first command; and BLACKROCK is a CYBERTRONIAN that thinks he’s a human. It takes the mind-bending clash of ROM versus MAJOR BLUDD and the OKTOBER GUARD to bring this unlikely team together… and the secret they learn threatens to unravel the entire universe.
Care of PreviewsWorld, we have a look at a pair of variant covers for the upcoming Transformers: Til All Are One issue 7. The retailer incentive cover for the issue copies the style of the Lost Light and Optimus Prime incentive covers, showing a main character standing in front of a globe – in this case, Windblade standing before a Titan’s brain module. The subscription cover meanwhile shows Chromia getting her photo taken following on from developments with her character in issue 4. Check out both covers attached to this post.
Apple’s iBooks service has also added a preview of the upcoming Transformers: Optimus Prime issue 3! This issue opens with a flashback to Cybertron before the great wars – and the day that Soundwave first met Orion Pax, the robot who would one day become Optimus Prime! What secrets will be revealed through this heretofore untold story of these two major characters meeting for the first time? You’ll have to pick up the issue when it hits comic stores to find out!
Apple’s iBooks has updated with a three page preview of the second issue of the new Transformers Lost Light series. Stranded in a strange and unforgiving parallel version of Cybertron, Megatron and the rest of his team have to deal with a Cybertron where the Functionists reign supreme.
Primes provides. Primus always provides.
Check out the preview attached to this post, and be sure to pick up the full issue when it hits stores.

Legendary Transformers scribe Simon Furman has shared some details about the new Transformers: The Definitive Collection partwork on his Facebook page. First and foremost, he’s shared some information on a signing which is taking place on January 14th at Orbital Comics in London in the UK to celebrate the launch of the series. The signing will include Simon Furman himself, as well as Geoff Senior, Lee Sullivan, Jeff Anderson, John-Paul Bove and Stephen Baskerville, which the possibility of more to follow. In other words, it is likely to be the definitive Transformers comic signing (outside of TFNation 2017, one assumes).
A further update from Simon Furman also clarifies how definitive this partwork will be – it will collect every individual issue from Dreamwave, including the ongoing series and the Summer Special issue, which have never before been collected. As Simon Furman himself puts it, they really mean “definitive” with this collection.
