It seems Sixgun figures to accompany Generations Metroplex are the new Predaking for third parties – because ACToys poster alienzhi has shared some images of another third party Sixgun, the third one to be announced so far after TFC Toys and Before and After both announced their own takes on the character. This newly unveiled Sixgun dwarfs the other two, standing almost waist-high against Metroplex; he’s also the most accurate to the style of the original Generation 1 Sixgun unveiled thus far. Check out the images which we’ve attached to this story for convenience – and jump into the discussion thread to check out a handy comparison of all three not-Sixguns. [Read more…]

Microblaze Creations MBC002 FOC Bruticus Upgrade Kit
Following up on some early leaked prototype pictures of a new unofficial Fall of Cybertron Onslaught figure, we now have further clarification on the figure and the group making it. From new 3rd party group, Microblaze Creations, we have the MB002 FOC Bruticus Upgrade kit. This upgrade, which is arguably one of the nicest looking to come out in awhile, will contain an unofficial Voyager Onslaught figure and a bunch of add-on pieces for the rest of the Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Combaticons. The end result? Well, you’ll have to click on the title bar to get a look at the prototype pictures of how this upgrade kit improves on the Hasbro release. At least, as far as game accuracy.

Unique Toys Sharky the Sharkticon Color Image
Unique Toys have updated their Facebook page with a CGI image of their forthcoming unofficial Sharkticon, named Sharky. Based on the Generation 1 toy Gnaw, Sharky takes the same basic approach as the War Lord series of releases and gives the original Generation 1 toy more poseability. This release also updates the look to make the character look more like the Sharkticon shown on-screen in Transformers the Movie, most notably including more black in the deco. Check out the image at left.
Update – our sponsors TFSource have sent us some more information on this release. They have confirmed that Sharky will come as a three pack, with different robot heads on each Sharky. If this sounds familiar, it is because it is the same basic strategy being employed by iGear and their long-delayed Shark Clones. [Read more…]
TFW’s Mech ideas Apex and Geminus Galleries Now Online
For our next gallery update, we would like to draw your attention to some extensive galleries of the Mech ideas Demoltion Crue – Apex and Geminus, unofficial and unlicensed versions of Generation 1 Topspin and Twin Twist.
Mech ideas are a relative newcomer on the third party scene, but their first full figure releases set the bar plenty high. Apex and Geminus share a basic body type, varying up the molding on the legs, shoulders, head and backpack to produce their unique robot and alternate modes. The designs are true to the original Jumpstarters, even if the alternate modes feel a little boxy. They are fantastic toys through and through though, with astonishing levels of poseability, excellent detail, and a good selection of accessories. There’s lots of nice little touches in the designs, such as the double-jointed elbows, which make these toys for me. Best of all, unlike a lot of third party releases, they are not overly expensive – you feel like you are getting value for money with the Demolition Crue.
Our galleries for this pair are now online, over 150 pictures for each toy – check them out by opening the links below:

Like the Generation 1 original which this is based on, TFC’s Gear of War 3 breaks down to form a selection of guns, with the core of the figure forming a large rifle like the one packed in with Metroplex. The arms and the legs can also form more Generation 1 inspired rifles and shoulder cannons if that is your desire. Check out the images mirrored after the break. [Read more…]
