I don't think you'll find answers here, this is a thread for Australian residents specifically. I'm sure you can search around for a UK sighting thread somewhere or maybe your own national forum.

Probably after breakfast.

I was just asking this, when the Studio Series wave 5 deluxe will lunch in UK? I tried to look on Amazon UK but it isn\'t there yet, and I\'ve ordered wave 5 voyager class like Optimus Prime & Bonecrusher on EBay. And I want it to get Leader class Jetfire & Megatron (Dorm). Do you know when will coming to UK (Smyth)?

You've misunderstood me, but it is definitely my fault. So I wrote a sentence that made sense, decided to reword the second half to avoid any confusion and brilliantly deleted anything that would indicate what the hell I was on about with that whole apathy thing. Anyway, my apathy was purely of the "I already own 3 Barricades" variety, not the "I don't care whether retail workers live or die" brand my parents enjoy the taste of. I didn't actually say what I was talking about and the more I read my last comment it definitely reads how you interpreted it thanks to my messy editing, but the worst any employee got was a a parting "Kmart would have sold it to me a week ago" but I was otherwise friendly and went through with the rest of my purchase. So, minimum requirement for maturity when attempting to buy an action figure I guess. I like to think that 'desperation' comment I made makes a bit more sense with the clarification that I was talking about my fluctuating opinion on Barricade, but maybe I do just come off as a weirdo who would break down in Target because I had a toy taken off me.
Unless a change of opinion on a frivolous purchase is something you'd get fired for in which case I am a master of English communication. Seriously though, the amount of confusion and hostile comments I've brought upon myself from people on forums and high school English teachers because I am incapable of reading anything I write from the POV of someone who doesn't live in my head is amazingly at odds with my passion for writing.
EDIT: So I still don't think I've actually made myself 100% clear. This person would have sold me Barricade but I didn't particularly want to buy it because I was apathetic to owning the figure, only to have changed my mind the next day. That is what I was saying before I ended up saying something so vague it was best interpreted as pride for shitty behaviour or something.
Lord Dcast
Damn. That kind of apathy would get my fired in two seconds.
Standards seem pretty low on your end.

I keep telling myself I'll stop whining about how Target hurt my feelings and find a nicer topic to dwell on, but that lines up with my thinking that it was just who I got. The person I talked to about the pricing yesterday (who has been helpful before) probably would have sold them to me had I not been as apathetic to them yesterday as I am desperate desperate now, and even the first person I talked to didn't have a problem selling them, but they went to see to the rest of the queue and other people ended up doing the thing I won't shut up about.
Lord Dcast
Changed for this specific wave, but Hasbro barcodes change all the time. It's not a product embargo, otherwise the barcode would be in the system with an embargo date warning every time you try to scan it.
There's a difference between 'not for sale' and 'product unavailable'.
I am certainly glad that the store I work at doesn't have such issues.
Bumblebee2000
Thanks for this, wasn't what I had problem with this time but will definitely save that link for future use. After already agreeing to the price match I then had Barry confiscated off of me and was told they could not sell it because despite being fine at other stores interstate they still have not put these figures in their system and are operating under the belief they are not allowed to sell merchandise based on a 10 year old film yet! Even though they have had a dozen figures from this wave on the shelf for a few days now. Why do I not order everything online so that these stores can feel the sweet release of death?
Might be exaggerating (just maybe ) but Kmart have now sold out of Barricade and I picked up my lay by earlier just to get Barricade so I'm about as pissed as someone can be about a figure they were probably going to pass over yesterday. So… not actually that pissed, but I would consider passively aggressively buying it for $35 from Amazon if they were more consistent with their stock.
Socongratulations on not working for this Target.
Never edited in a quote before so hopefully that is a thing that works, but the studio series deluxes. New wave, new barcode, new rules about whether they can be sold in my local Target and probably not any other store in Australia.
Lord Dcast
Okay…heads up, if you want to price match, shove this in their face.
https://www.target.com.au/bestprice
Irrefutable proof from their own website. If they try to say otherwise, they're wrong.
Also note that it says they do not honor 'clearance'. Clearance and sale are completely different. If a target is going against it with their store manager, then technically they're going under 'false advertising'.
Fortunately I'm at a store where this kind of nonsense doesn't happen, but they shouldn't be able to deny you like that.

Which barcode did Hasbro change?

Of the major retailers in Australia, Target is the only one that doesn't have a year-long, nation-wide price-match policy. Usually price-matching is only valid during toy sales, and outside of sales it isn't valid at all stores.
These were responses I got from different Target stores a few years back when I was doing up a price-matching guide for Australian fans…
Head Office – Outside of promotions (like mid-year toy sale price-matching) price-matching is only honoured at the Store Manager's discretion.
QLD Stores
CBD – No
Carindale – Originally 'No', then 'only on Toys during the Toy Sale', and then told to talk to Store Manager when he eventually returns to the store.
Mt Gravatt – No
Browns Plains – Yes, but only items that are instock in their competitor's store, AND has to be featured in BOTH Target and the competitor's CURRENT catalogue.
Buranda – No
Chermside – No electronics, but yes to items instock at competitor's store.
Capalaba – Yes, but only in a store within 5Kms, and must be the exact item.
Indooroopilly – Sometimes, but not often (I swear, that is exactly what they said)
Ipswich – Depends on which manager is on at the time (I'm not making this stuff up!)
Mount Ommaney – No, and they tried to convince me that it was their national policy, and that no Target store price-matches.
Redbank – Yes, but only against items instock in stores within the same shopping centre (it isn't a big shopping centre).
Springwood – Only on toys during the upcoming Toy Sale.
Mitchelton – No.
NSW Stores
Miranda – Yes, but will only check against stores within the complex (so even if every other BigW in the state has a particular item in stock, if the Miranda BigW doesn't, you're out of luck).
Liverpool – Yes, but needs to be in the competitor's catalogue and on sale (not regular prices) at both stores at the same time.
Castle Hill – Yes, but only against stores in the centre, must be a regular price (not a sale price), and must be in stock at that competitor.
(so Liverpool will only match sale prices, while Castle Hill will only match regular prices… ???)
WA
Bullcreek – Depends on the item. You must bring in the competitor's catalogue and they will only match sale prices. And if it is BigW, they will ring to see if it is instock, and will only match if it is.
ToysRUs were the best for price-matching in Australia, followed by Kmart and BigW… while Myer will only price-match if it is above their cost price, but would always lie to me about a competitors price being below their cost price, just to avoid price-matching (I know what most of the wholesale prices are for TFs, and used to work for Coles-Myer when they were one company, so I have a good idea what their "cost" price actually is).

Hm…odd. We fixed ours days ago. Might be lagging at a few stores.
Bumblebee2000
This was earlier this afternoon so must of just been fixed later that day or something. I'm back there in a few days to finish a lay by so will think about the second part. But that lay by is also a good argument not to spend any more money. Will also have to find out if Kmart actually have them on their website, don't really go on there ever. You've probably got a good enough idea now, I'll finish this debate with myself.
Lord Dcast
Actually we fixed that. They should be properly scanning now. Hasbro changed the barcode but didn't notify us.
Also, just price match. Any toy can be price matched, even on sale. If the staff says otherwise, show them the quote on the website.
(Yes, I work at one of their stores)
Bumblebee2000
Not scanning at the Target I just found them at but was told they were $34, more than Big W or Kmart so should have picked them up earlier. Might have to see if Barricade is still at one of them because of course I wasn't interested when my finding him was just short of newsworthy.
Point is, Target is getting wave 5 too.
Lord Dcast
There's a bit of hope. Megatron and Brawl were restocked at the Target I work at, so Ironhide might still be on the way.
I'm more excited for the ROTF combined Prime/Jetfire though.
Lord Dcast
Wow…should've gotten a second news credit a week ago when I saw these. Ah well.
Word of advice; DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE GET WWII BEE YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Although I had a lot of fun editing that review.
griffin-of-oz
We are still stuck on wave 2 Voyagers here I'm afraid… yet to see Wave 3 Ironhide or Wave 4 ROTF Starscream.
(often delays of this length will see us missing waves, and unless it is re-packed with a later wave, we can miss entire waves here)
