Robotkingdom has uploaded images of the packaging of the next Takara Tomy Encore reissue: Big Convoy, the fearless Cybertron leader from the Japanese Beast Wars Neo cartoon.
We had seen a small picture of the box at the past Tokyo Comic-Con 2018, and now we have clear shots of the packaging of this new entry in the Encore line. The box is largely the same as the original vintage release with updated Takara-Tomy branding and an extra badge denoting it as part of the Transformers Encore line. The back of the box shows some differences compared to the vintage box. The old box showed a nice CGI art with the Beast Wars Neo logo and some Japanese text below. The new Encore box reduces the CGI art to just a quarter of the back of the box, and now we have images of Big Convoy in both robot and mammoth mode, showing off the new cartoon-accurate color scheme.
This reissue is expected to start shipping on January 26th, 2019. Don’t miss your chance to grab this great mold from the Japanese Beast Wars line, you can still pre-order it via our sponsors below. Click on the bar to see the image and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Bumping for Cyber Monday. I said in this thread 4 months ago that I didn't need this figure, but BBTS has him on sale for $55, so I bit and bought. I love extinct creatures, what can I say?

I finally opened this guy up after having him for a few months. Was excited to get this figure given the pics I had seen about him and all the features I heard about. That being said, I don't have the benefit of nostalgia glasses since it is my very first experience with the figure.
While the sculpt and the features are impressive, and I am sure my child-self would love this figures, especially with all of the gimmicks, I am a little bit disappointed, primarily because the parts don't lock into place in bot mode and the mammoth kibble just sort of hangs there (mammoth legs on hips, calf flaps on sides, calf legs on back on bot mode legs). Also the rifle is very unwieldy. It is nice for what it is (a creatively designed piece of TF history), but not an adult-friendly, collectors toy, IMO.
Also, what is the deal with the yellow round trigger for the rifle? Sometimes I turn it and it only shoots one missile. Then I ratchet it back and forth a bit and it only shoots the other. I am using it incorrectly?

I was looking for some g1s on ebay and noticed the encore series. Why in hell are some of them in boxes worth more than actual g1s? Thats insane

Were those flames accessories of another toy or can you get deco stuff like this separately somewhere?

He’s about the size of pre siege voyagers. He was always a small ultra

I just Impulse bought Big Convoy Encore and then read he's ultra class. Is he much taller than a regular voyager? Maybe some comparison pics? Thanks in advance.

The Nemesis Prime version was a Hasbro Target exclusive. There’s been no mention of it ever being reissued.

I opened my Blue Big Convoy up this weekend. It'd been a while since I transformed any version of this mold, so I'd forgotten how weird it was, yet also oddly fun. Mammoth hind legs kept popping off, but otherwise it wasn't bad for a shellformer, and my fourth version of this mold. My only irritation is the top missile in the cannon won't properly lock in; the spring keeps wanting to shoot it out so I have to use the buttflap to keep it in the cannon.

Tried searching but didn't find a clear answer. Is there a Nemesis version re-issue coming?

Sweet. Thanks for these.
Gimmie a Double-Cross inspired Black Zarak toy please, oh and not to mention a repaint of Ginrai as Nucleon Quest please!

It's interesting that in this manga Blue Big Convoy is a completely different character than the E-Hobby comic's Primus Vanguard Leader, especially since the online prequel comic for the toy was about the latter. This basically means that a brand-new toy represents two distinct characters. Perhaps they just didn't want to continue the E-Hobby storyline? (Which is fine with me; I'm not a fan of E-Hobby stories.)
Also, it appears that the rank of Convoy was created in honor of Optimus Primal. I had always assumed it was in honor of Optimus Prime.

Yes, that’s the Legends Manga. It’s only two pages.
