The wait is finally over, as more details answering the question of “what’s next?” for IDW and the Transformers are revealed! Get ready to join writer Brian Ruckley and illustrators Angel Hernandez and Ron Joseph for a twice-monthly series.
In this new Transformers comic, IDW will explore Cybertron in ways never seen by audiences before – delving into an idyllic society, peaceful for thousands of years, as it faces the most momentous event in its history: the mysterious end of a single life. Through the eyes of young Bumblebee and his friends, fans will witness conspiracies forming, harmony giving way to conflict, and the very fabric of Cybertronian civilization tearing itself apart.
“We are eager to begin this new chapter in Transformers storytelling,” says Michael Kelly, Hasbro’s Vice President of Global Publishing. “We are excited to begin a tale that will be accessible and appealing to readers unfamiliar with Transformers lore, while still providing the depth and drama that our long-time fans expect. It’s a big responsibility, but we’ve got the right team and the right characters to do it.”

I'm amazed by the accuracy of this persons deduction.

So here's something that just occurred to me, and there's a solid chance I'm not the first one to think this.
Now its obvious that the Optimus design in this comic is the core robot of the Siege leader class figure as opposed to the voyager figure. And as we all know the Siege leader Optimus is an homage to Cybertron/Galaxy Force Optimus.
So what I'm wondering is if
A. His vehicle mode in the comic will be the whole fire engine of doom from the show, or just the cab, and
B. Maybe, just maybe, he'll power up and use the Super Mode of the associated toy.
(Which is the best Optimus Prime design in the franchise in my opinion. Well that and the base mode Optimus)
I really hope one of if not both of these get to happen, because it would be amazing.

Well , we need a Berserk / Goblin Slayer easter egg too. To keep up with the trend.
SHIELD Agent 47
That is, assuming IDW can consistently maintain a release schedule.
When was the last time they sustained that?

…semimonthly…

Man that’d be nice.

Well the new Transformers comics are going to be biweekly.

Q: Is this a brand new origin story?

Er, most not really, most manga arcs usually takes about 7-25 chapters to finish. And usually are weekly. yes, there are monthlies too, but it's weekly more often.
Darth Gonzo
So the reboot will have an arc like an anime/manga.

I mean it’s a decent design. I was much more into the refined evergreen design in Optimus Prime by Kei Zama. Felt like the perfect Optimus for me. But this one is good enough. I’ll wait for the super mode though.

Well, what’s worth noting there is that the loans are related to their TV production wing, as opposed to the comics. TV isn’t cheap especially if you’re self-financing like IDW apparently is.

Every time I see the covers depicting Optimus,I get more excited for the upcoming Siege Leader. It's one of the best Optimus designs I've ever seen, and it's been a while since I've been this hyped for an Optimus. A Galaxy Force homage with an Ultra Magnus trailer? Yes please. I can't wait to see pictures of him from Toy Fair.

I hope he’s good. As in prosperous future for a new series good.

Wake me up when we get a substantial interview with the writer so I can get a feel for his feel on the property. This kind of tease does nothing for me.
scrapmetaru
Will he be good or bad, basically.
