BotBots anyone? How about all of them? Right before Thanksgiving, we received a cryptic teaser letter from Hasbro hyping up BotBots, the new micro Transformers that mimic everyday things. It asked us to get ready for the BotBots Challenge. That was great and all, but we had no idea what it meant. The next day I left to visit family for Thanksgiving, and stayed a while after that. And that day, after I left, a GIANT box of BotBots showed up. Pretty much ALL of them, plus some, in a super awesome promotional box. So, my gallery here is a bit delayed as I know other media outlets got this too. The BotBotChallenge from the teaser is to have you place these little guys in every day locations and see if people can find the BotBot in the pic. We encourage you all to do that as you build your micro legions!
We have run the entire package, including the promotional box itself, through a gallery session. 61 BotBots in all from Series 1 are featured inside, lined up in their designated teams:
Lost Bots
Backpack Bunch
Greaser Gang
Jock Squad
Shed Heads
Sugar Shocks
Techie Team
Toilet Troop
I’ve also stole from each one of the teams to create my personal 2005 Crew! Dudearoni, Hawt Diggity, King Toots, The Plop Father, Clogstopper, Twerple Burple, Fun Gus, S.A. Cheese, ANGRY CHEESE, Stinkeye Stapleton and last but not least – Fottle Barts – are now adopted and will be rocking out on my desk!
Bottom line, even though I’m an old head, these little guys are fun. I can pick up and mess around, giggle with my wife and friends at the names, and just enjoy the sillyness. Plus, I can easily pass off any that I don’t feel fits the elite 2005 Crew status to a kid without thinking.
I highly suggest grabbing some for yourself. I’d like to thank Hasbro and their PR teams for sending this through, and the design teams for making ANGRY CHEESE and Fottle Barts in particular. Read on to check out Series 1 in full!

Can somebody tell me the rarity of each figure?
Philip164
Confusing as Heck, But we all know Hasbro intended it that way, Like all collectable Blind Bags, they prey on the completionist.
And then there's Wave 2 and 3, we don't know if they will contain New Molds, Repaints or a Mix of Both.

@Max Tower Here ya go! Red is Singles Only, Blue is Multipacks Only.

Max, gimme an hour or two and I'll have a Google Spreadsheet up. Already built in Excel for my own work, but it's chow-time.

Is it possible to get the list formated in a way that lists the alt mode or name (or both) and then has next to it the pack in.
What I'm trying to figure out is.
Is it possible to buy all of the 8 pack or all of the 5 pack and get the few strays from the singles.
Or does it have to be a specific mix of 5 & 8 packs and singles.
What I am getting at here is if I order a fixed case of 5 or 8 packs – can I then get the few strays by just buying 1 or 2 of which ever I don't get as a wholesale case ?
So something like this.
(completely made up example)
Buy a case of 5 packs : get most releases – missing a few so I have to get 3 single bubbles and one 8 pack
Or I buy a case of 8 packs and get most of the releases but I have to get 2 Bubbles and 2 5 packs ?
That is the sort of thing I'm trying to figure out – I don't really want to order a whole case of singles if I'm only going to be missing a couple from the singles.
Can anyone help me figure this out – ta.

Hey, Tony, dunno what kinda contacts you have at Hasbro, but if you get a chance would you consider passing along a suggestion that the box they shipped the sample sets in could be adapted to make a great collector/display case for these little guys?

I did in my previous post, dude. Click on the thumbnail.

Got a link to the "ID" thread or post? I REALLY loathe having to get multiples of some things just to get ONE of them all.
Beastbot X
Yeah, as much as I love these things, I hate the way they're being distributed. That said, at least there's now apparently codes written on the OUTSIDE of the packaging for the single-packs, on the backside:

And there's exactly one of every possible pack in each assortment box, so even the rarest ones are in at least one assortment. And the Lost Bots are always the same in a particular pack. So at least it's not totally random with no way to tell what you're getting– it's just going to cost you more than they should, and you'll have to find someone to sell/give your doubles/triples to. Could be worse; at least there's no "chase" figures or any of that crud.

So from what I can see, it\'s going to be a HUGE pain to get a complete set.
Looks like TONS of dupilcates in the process too. I can\'t believe they didn\'t make each of the \"boxed\" cardback sets unique at the very least.

The stars are supposed to indicate rarity, but they actually don't, so… yeah, they don't really mean much.
Philip164
Okay Here's a Correction
Green = 1 Figure, Yellow = 2 Figures, Red = 3 Figures, and Purple = 4 Figures
Correct me if I'm wrong

I still do not know what the stars mean? Is it a Power Rating?
Beastbot X
Your spreadsheet doesn't take into account the single-packs, so the corn dog, flashlight, french fries, venus flytrap, and boxing glove aren't only in those packs. See the link in my prior post for a breakdown of how many are packed in total when taking into account all 1-, 5-, and 8-packs.
The blind pack "Lost Bots" are always the same in a pack; in fact for most of them there's 3 each total across all packs, so blind packs aren't the rarest. You'll have multiple Lost Bots of everything except Frostferatu and possibly Dimlit by the time you're done.
Philip164
The Stars mean nothing with Rarity
Well the Blind Packs come 1 per case, so they are the rarest.
I'm spending way too much time on this filler line, Where are the Siege Figures?
Green = 1 Figure, Yellow = 2 Figures, Red = 3 Figures, and Purple = 4 Figures
Correct me if I'm wrong

Part of why I had originally been thinking to start with the 8-packs or the ones with only-in-that-pack bots was minimizing cost–if we assume US street prices at $3.50-4.00 single, $10 5-pack and $15 8-pack, the packs break down to around $2/figure.
Max Tower
Never seen the sushi-bots until they were mentioned.
Curious obects – I wonder if they are expensive ?
——–
I still think buying a case of singles makes a degree of sense but The other strategy might by concentrating on the 5 & 8 packs to get the lost bots and then working backwards to get any others you need.
I'm sure there is a optimum way to do it depending on if you just want minimal duplicates of if you want all of them including the Lost bots.
I don't especially object to having 2 of each – but more than that gets a bit silly.
Beastbot X
I don't have the Sushi-bots, but I think they're of pretty good quality. Not amazing, but pretty good. A bit better than Tiny Turbo Changers. Sometimes if you have to push down a head it can stick a little the first time and you have to use a little more force than you're comfortable with, but after the first time it's "freed up".
