A post on Chinese site Baidu has shared what is alleged to be a retailer listing for future releases in several Transformers line for 2019. The listings cover the Generations War For Cybertron series, as well as Movie Masterpieces and Movie Studio Series.
Kicking off with the Studio Series, we have five new listings. Deluxe class Hightower is listed, adding another Constructicon to Devastator, alongside a listing for Drift – which given the timing and price, may not be the same Drift we’re getting as an exclusive with the Mini-Dinobots, so maybe it’s an updated version of Age of Extinction Drift – perhaps his helicopter mode using elements from the Dropkick mold? Two Voyagers are also listed – KSI Boss and Hero. These could be anything, but Hero implies one of the Autobots, and Autobot Hero tends to lead to Optimus Prime… again. KSI meanwhile were associated with Galvatron in Age of Extinction – so maybe the KSI Boss is an updated version of Age of Extinction Galvatron? Lastly there is a new Leader class listing, this time for Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime. We’d imagine this one will be a Voyager sized figure with either a trailer or the flight pack Optimus Prime used in the finale of Transformers Dark of the Moon.
Next, we have two Movie Masterpiece releases. Not a lot to see here – they are Movie Masterpiece 1 and Movie Masterpiece 2, with one coming in Spring and the other in Fall. So at the least, we know there are two more Movie Masterpieces in the pipe, but there are no hints what they’ll be.
On the War for Cybertron front, we have nothing remarkable at first, with listings of Springer, Thundercracker, Barricade and “fan vote Autobot” (Mirage), none of which we’ve actually seen but all of which we’ve heard about in past rumors. Things take a turn for the interesting with a Leader class Optimus Prime, which will be the second one for Siege – and given Siege’s predilection for having its Leaders come with armor parts, we’re probably looking at an “armor up” version of Optimus Prime – with Powermaster or possibly God Ginrai being potential candidates, although there is no shortage of super-moded Optimus Primes out there who could be celebrated with an update.
Saving the best for last, the alleged list rounds out with three War for Cybertron releases which sound like some kind of exclusives given they include more than one figure in the set. First up there is a listing for Greenlight who comes with a Battlemaster. Greenlight is the name of one of the female Autobots in Generation 1 episode “The Search for Alpha Trion”, so we’d imagine this will be another retool of the Moonracer / Chromia mold. There is also a listing for a Skywarp battle pack – so with the listing for Thundercracker, it looks like we are getting all three Tetrajet versions of the Seekers. Lastly there is a “Firestormer” pack, which is set to include Sideswipe, Slamdance, and someone beginning with “Ai”. This sounds particularly interesting as it confirms a reuse of Sideswipe, as well as at least two other toys in the box. We’d speculate that this set could be based around including two Deluxes to show off the line’s Weaponiser gimmick – so perhaps Slamdance will be a reuse of Cog so the complete set can trade on the line’s “armor up” gimmick?
For now, this is a healthy dose of speculation on our part – but the listings, if genuine, indicate fun times ahead in the collector oriented lines.
