Hasbro has sent through details about two new upcoming Generations figures, under the new banner “Transformers Generations Selects”. The marketing for the line proclaims that “Transformers Generations Selects bring back favorite characters from across the globe as exciting entrants into the Cybertronian Wars.”
What this indicates is the line will be bringing in characters from all ages of Transformers – and from overseas as well as domestic. The first two releases reflect this with a red version of Power of the Primes Swoop, based on the coloration of the Generation 1 toy, and Ricochet, a black version of Power of the Primes Jazz based on a 1987 Japanese exclusive release named Stepper. Neither one features any remolding – but both are purported to “not be available in stores!”, so they’ll be online exclusives – perhaps like past May Madness releases like Combiner Wars Wildrider and Slingshot.
Keep an eye out on TFW2005 sponsors and retailers starting tonight!

IgnikaMarcus
In Europe it was. In the US it was just another Megatron.
BombSquad
That robot mode actually works pretty well. Still, I'd like to see Sideswipe redecoed as fellow Turbomaster Hurricane.
Smitty.1981
I think they are all like that.

Found it!

I honestly think that this paint scheme works better as a sports car and I’m kinda bummed it’s not real.
Dinobot Snarl
They could remold the gun there's room to make it taller, maybe going around the shoulder….or wait for WFC 2020. A different Megatron with a shoulder option.
Gryph
It works a lot more than you'd expect.
Yeah, He's been doing these for awhile now. The guy really loves Thunder Clash. ぴすをかっちぃ on Twitter

Fenrys
its a custom, the guy that made it said the wing emblem is self made in one of the replies
Thundershot
Thunderclash from Sideswipe? Why would a truck be repainted as a car? I’ve seen a few custom Armada Wheeljacks…
DutyBeforeAll
This morning I saw a Thunderclash repaint of Siege Sideswipe standing in front of a generations select box on Twitter.
I didn’t copy a picture and it’s not in my Twitter feed?
Is that a custom or upcoming product?
Thundershot
I got my Swoop and Stepper from TCP. Alas, my Stepper has thick gold paint on his face…
gee4
hey, how did u manage to swap the wings?
Thundershot
My personal headcanon has always been that Archforce and Sureshot went on to become BW Megatron and Primal.
Legends even helped solidify that headcanon when they made BW Megatron the headmaster of the Legends G2 Megatron (*cough*Archforce*cough*)
If only they made a matching Sureshot out of the TR Prime mold…
denebian
I had no idea before reading the wiki either (back when Takara released the purple G2 TR Megs toy). They even renamed an Optimus into Sureshot! Hasbro Europe was strange.
Predakwon
The purple G2 Megs tank is called Archforce? I never knew and had to look at the wiki. I always referred to him as purple G2 Megs tank….
pilot00
Erhm…Seriously….I didnt mean to start an arguement over it.
BUT the siege lines Megs looks the better part for Archforce. He is at least designed to be a tank first and foremost. But to each their own.
SunSwipe5
Ahhh, fraggit. I'm going to order Swoop tomorrow.
I'm still on the fence with Megs.
I have Smokey preordered.
If Redwing comes to fruition, I'll preorder.
Ricochet is sitting in front of me
You know, I really was trying to streamline which Transformers lines I'd buy.
I had it down to MP/MPM and Siege, but this Generations line was too nice to pass up.

He’s Here! I’ve got him all kitted out and ready for battle.

The plastic feels like the Jazz release to me and the tolerance is about the same.
Mine has a bit of loose hips but nothing terrible.
On to the next release, hopefully Redwing.
Smitty.1981
Yes. But also I don't need (or want) my Megatron toys to have shoulder cannons. If that's what you like and the over the collar bone backpack mounted cannon works for you, go for it and enjoy.
Saberclaw84
I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't really mind if a figure is 100% accurate or not.
I've looked at the pictures of the (cancelled) original G2 Arctic Camo Megatron, and of the Selects version.
You can partially duplicate the look of the original toy just by plugging the fusion cannon into the shoulder.
And I'm perfectly fine with that fact. There's no need to be a perfectionist over these figures, they work with what they have.
Fenrys
he is not, but neither am i. if he wants to be pedantic, no g2 megatron has a shoulder cannon, its a collar bone cannon. a shoulder cannon would sit on top of the arm or on the outside of the top of the arm, not next to his head
