Courtesy of Comic Crusaders comes the five-page preview for the final issue of IDW Publishing’s Unicron miniseries! The Autobots, Decepticons, and all of their allies stand united to face the titular world-eater in one last battle not just for the fate of the Earth, but the entire universe itself. Only one last, desperate plan has any hope of seeing them all survive! As well, in illustrating all of the pages of this double-sized finale, Alex Milne will joined by fellow IDW ongoing artists Sara Pitre-Durocher, Andrew Griffith, and Kei Zama. You can pick up the penultimate issue of IDW’s current continuity when this issue releases on November 14, but before then, check out the mirrored preview pages after the break!

Barber has to toe the company line a lot more then Roberts did. Which does affect how a writer does this kind of story. His big reveal over at optimus prime was the biggest shock reveal of the idwverse. IMO of course.
This is a different story then lost light. We also still have one more optimus issue to go. Which is different again. There is no comparison.

I agree although I remember seeing some solicits that advertised this series as such (and I was all “WTF? Really?” Then as well).

The difference is Roberts had a beginning a middle and an end for his story and IDW made a big mistake forcing it to start at issue one for Hasbroverse. This Unicron story was advertised as a comics event and has failed to make introductions, the very name Unicron is one known to fans, people who saw the last movie, G1 fans who haven't read IDW but might see it and others who may be interested in TF and yet they'll get ambushed by a story with a hundred characters, a story demanding you read a ton of old comics.

Y'know what? i'm just gonna wait for the synopsis on TFwiki, it's free and i don't have to read all this banter scrap. Bleep Slide, bleep……………. never mind.
RazorclawX
If you think the end of the story needs to be a starting/jump in point for the comic you're reading it for the wrong reason. That's no better than starting a novel from a chapter 3/4 of the way through the book and wondering what's going on.
And NO, Lost Light was no better at being a jump in point as Anode was useless as your audience surrogate for that purpose.
Ricky Spanish
Whole series has been a frustrating read, I understand this ending is for IDW but it's unfortunate it was sold as an event, it's inaccessible to new readers or anyone who dropped the TF books and the Hasbroverse.
Bass X0
Micromaster combiner. Combines with Oiler to make a double length vehicle.

Like it makes a difference.

Who\'s this Slide?
fishpop
Unicron\'s face on the 2nd page:
Also, for fuck\'s sake Slide, just get vaporised already.
Treadshot 2.0
Okay, fuck Slide entirely. THE GALAXY IS BEING DESTROYED and she\'s STILL off in her feelings

I'm not a fan of Barber's writing. Where Roberts' writing is clever and engaging, Barber's feels like bad fan-fiction, and is difficult for me to trudge through.

Who cares about Slide, Trypticon gets blasted by the largest laser beam in the galaxy, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Fark Gnarkl
I mean, we're assuming she was named for that particular fallacy, right?

I liked his evergreen design
I know that Optimus is the main torso and head
IgnikaMarcus
– CW Optimus (with a better head)
– 3 of the CW Seeker mold
– Arcee from Dust Up.
Sockie
This is Slide, not Oiler, and she's not a he.
Murasame
Does Oiler have to be in this? Why didn't he die already? How can someone like this still live in the last issue, when all he does is complain?
If it weren't for Milne's art, I would probably cancel my pre-order for the TPB, as it appears to be the same shit we get in the Optimus Prime books. I hope the last issue reads A LOT BETTER. But the preview does not really make me happy. Well, a bit, because it is soon over. Weird that I would feel happy for finally having my favorite continuity to end. Shouldn't they have made it in such a way that I would be sad? Well, at least I'll be missing MTMTE/LL.

How’s that gonna work
