Courtesy of Loopaza Mega Store we have our usual doses of Figure King Magazine Scans. Issue #249 brings us images of Transformers Siege toys And LG-EX Big Powered.
We have clear images of Siege Decepticons Voyager Megatron, Leader Shockwave, Deluxe Skytread, Battle Master Blowpipe and the Micromasters Air Strike Patrol. We also have a very nice group shot with all of them together, so you can check out the scale between the different size classes. Shockwave main body seems in scale with Voyager Megatron, and it becomes Leqader class when you add all the extra parts as armor.
We also have some small shots of Siege Hound and the Micro Masters Battle Patrol, plus some shots of the Takara Tomy Mall exclusive Big Powered and its components Dai Atlas, Sonic Bomber and Roadfire.
You can check out the mirrored images after the jump and then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Where is that expression from? I like to think of myself as a bit of a casual student oF ideoms and slang and thanks a new one to me.
Wh33ls
Ah, thank you! Yes I never heard that expression before, and now it makes sense in my head.
I wholeheartedly agree with you.

so true

Getting rid of electronics was the best thing Leader class figures ever did.
Dirge121
Sorry, must not be a figure of speech they use where you’re from! To say you’re happy to see the back of something is to say that you’re happy to see it go. In this case, I’m indicating that I’m glad that leader class figures are no longer saddled with an obnoxious electronics box. Sorry for the confusion.
Wh33ls
Ummm, your gonna have to spell it out for me, with a proper sentence structure and grammar.
Do you mean, you are looking at the back of the leader class figure to see if it doesn't have electronics, or are you seeing electronics at the back of leader class figures?
Your two sentence fragments are; 1st) A positive confirmation, you see electronics in the back; with 2nd) A negative conclusion, there are none, or is it that you see the return of electronics, they are coming back, so that they are no more on others size class figures, but just with the leader class figures only?
It is so very confusing.
Dirge121
Seeing the back of electronics. So no more
PrimalFury
Is there a Siege leader confirmed to have electronics?
Thatotherguy
Exactly, just keep drinking until the battle damage no longer bothers you
Robogeek28
Alcohol fixes everything…
Metalwario64
Just use alcohol.

Well, that's an opinion, and you're certainly entitled to that. So it's "what you see as a benefit" not what is objectively a benefit. Hell, let's not even pretend it's a popular opinion.

It has a handle. What, it bothers you that you as an adult, can't hold it comfortably in your hands and play with it like a child would? Nah, I think I'm going to keep calling you out on skipping a figure over a minor detail like that. It deserves the "point and laugh" treatment.

Why do you keep talking about Star saber like he’s been confirmed?
Codeveronicaxxx
With Magnus not being much taller than the new Optimus it gives the impression leaders are not very big despite some girth. From my understanding the new OP is slightly short for a voyager anyway so Magnus must not be normal (tr-potp) height.
At least Star Saber should look the part.

Yes, Silverbolt is one of those exception cases. He's sort of an 'evergreen' design.

that totally makes sense, I'm more in the camp of preferring CHUGs as "Modern Updates" instead of "Slavish Recreations"… except when i don't
(although, ironically, Universe 2.0 Silverbolt was probably the first one that was closer to a "Slavish Recreation")
Revan1307
I think onslaught works with the mold better then hot shot especially the robot mode imo
the old generations mold looked like a bodybuilder on steroids very bulky

I think it is indeed a sort of style preference thing.
I look at it as a matter of designs being G1 evocative / true to G1 designs ( or G1-slavish as some call it), expressed in a percentage.
(roughly speaking…because each line has a few exception cases)
– Universe 1.0 / 2.0: ranging from 45% – 65%
– Post-Thrilling 30's lines: ranging from 65% – 95%
I happen to be in the camp who prefer the latter.

Honestly when it comes to the undercarriage kibble I feel CW Silverbolt has the excuse of having it because not only does he need to be a robot and jet but also a combiner torso so certain sacrifices had to be made to make all three work the best they can. Universe Silverbolt somehow couldn't find a way to make the kibble not as egregious which was likely due to toy design at the time but still.
As for CW Onslaught he's not one of the worst attempts at retooling/repurposing a figure as someone else. Believe me that honor belongs to SS Crankcase since we actually have the right mold to use it for him and for some odd reason they've decided to use the wrong version of the mold.
