I won't call IDW RC 'femme fatale' because she doesn't even explore her feminine side like, you know, those girls in 007 movies. Woman warrior I may say. But don't get me wrong, I like her more that any femme fatale.
Deadend
I'd argue he's what made it murky repeatedly. His "putting the trans in transfomers solely because he hates being told to add fembots" was one of the murkiest things that could be done. And is directly related to the rise of Nautica and Windblade as a response. Not that adding more diverse life forms and representation was bad, but whenever he's been asked to include Arcee, it's his go to "insult" to do it that way. That's really kind of made me not fond of Furman's work anymore. His lack of imagination and go to "insults" are really a shape of some backwards thinking that holds the brand back as a whole. And then going on a rant about it on his own blog for paragraph after paragraph about why cybertronians can't have fembots was even more evidence of why the franchise has been stuck in stasis for so long unable to breathe from his boot heel on its neck.
I liked femme fatale Arcee, and I liked her back story and the complicated nature it was. But the behind the scenes narrative of why all that came to pass was really crappy and mean.

Wow, Gobots carrying the torch for a couple months for transforming robot comics.
Whoda thunk it…..

I can't act like I wasn't thinking the same thing. I'm probably never going to totally stop collecting Transformers but between the IDW comics ending and how there's not as many toys I want in Siege, I feel like things are going to really kinda slow down for me, and MTMTE/Lost Light ending is sort of a nice 'goodbye for now' kinda gesture. (Of course, I'll never be done posting here. )

i loved the pre war stories and the ations stuff but since furman left characters have became murkier and murkier. i don't mind nuance but when you start to think of the villains as more heroic than characters such as optimus prime hot rod and star saber that's where you lose me

Won't lie; I will miss it. Especially MTMTE/LL, which gave us a much-needed update to Cybertronian culture, lore, and terminology. Never have I felt so compelled to keep up with a comic's releases; I usually find them intimidating and pass. But I'm glad it has a defined ending. So many of these series never get that, and with such a large timeline, spanning many different stories, these runs deserve a concrete closure.
Here's to everything good they brought us, and to what's to come. I look to the future with an open mind.

Can’t wait for it to end. Had a great fun with the IDW run, but looks like a good jump off point for me – from both comics and TFW.
It’s a valid point, but the exact same can be said about war and violence, which is a big part of this franchise. The comics are not geared towards the same age demographic as the cartoons.

#21 for Optimus Prime is the final chapter for 'The falling.' #22 takes place before Unicron #0 (for the first half of the story) and between Unicron #0 and #1 (for the second half of the story). #23 – #24 takes place before Unicron #5 and after Unicron #1.
Optimus Prime #25 is an epilogue for the Unicron storyline.
As for Lost Light, #21 – 24 don't have any interaction with Unicron. The story there is mostly self contained.
It's likely that Lost Light Issue #25 will take place during or after Unicron has concluded.

Is there any particular order with which we should finish the books? I'm at issue 20 on both ongoing titles, and haven' started Unicron yet because I don't want to be spoiled if I read something, say, in Unicron 5 that I should've read before Lost Light 25.

In the words of Jar Jar \"Weesa Free\"! I\'m sad for the people who enjoyed this run but I hated it.
