Shockwave Lab, via their Weibo account, has shared images of their next product: the SL-32 Weapon Kit For Beast Wars Transmetal Cheetor and Rattrap.
It’s a nice surprise to see new 3P accessories for classic Beast Wars toys in the market. This kit brings you a new tail-whip for Cheetor, now molded straight as in the show. There’s also a repainted blue version of Shockwave Lab SL-13 gun for BW Rattrap. The new color matches the gun Transmetal Rattrap used in the cartoon.
We are sure Beast Wars fans would be pleased to grab these items for their figures. You can check out the mirrored images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

Does anyone know where I can find this?
Rotorstorm
Definitely agree about Cheetor as it is on a balljoint, Rattrap wouldn't be a simple headship though as it would require either pin removal or splitting the head in half as it is glued around a mushroom peg.
Happy to get an order in for these, not too bothered for Cheetor's axe (my childhood one is complete) but the gun for Rattrap was always a bug bear in how it was always missing and used far more than the rat tail

I think it can go both ways. Beast Wars has a lot of great figures, but many of them have inaccurate accessories, inaccurate body parts, or accessories that were never made for the figure. Speaking of Nonnef, I wonder if Nonnef would consider making a new waist piece for Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron that doesn’t shatter…
Fenrys
Thanks for that
optimusmegas
Don't forget the repaint sky shadow. Maybe you'll find a cheap junker somewhere
STRAKER454
I would but most of them I don't care for as much as an actual molded piece. Nonnef for example has been doing a bang up job.
As for G1 figures, well, most of those get reissues quite often, but regardless, I don't see much G1 figure accessories from 3P makers these days. I just can't imagine that G1 or Beast Wars are in more demand than recent toylines are for collectors though.

i never knew about this mod, might have to do it to mine if jetfire is cheap enough
ReximusPrimal07
Yep exactly what I did
deathdrive
Did you use the jetfire mod? Either way i would prefer a proper upgrade kit to armada tidal wave because i just love that toy but its just the lacking articulation that ruins it for me
lord ginrai
Can't wait to get this set.
Also definitely wouldn't mind seeing updated head sculpts for the Transmetals. Megatron, Cheetor, Rattrap, Tarantulas… Bring it!
Digger
Oh I get you man. Fair enough.
KABAR432
oh I was thinking you meant BW Insecticon. I know the Insectrons.
JoeScibelli
Oh, it's just a subfaction from BWII. It's just random repaints of figures like Retrax, Transquito, etc. I'm just referring to like, the lesser known toys that were still really neat but probably not enough to get MPs of any form.
RodimusSupreme
Yeah I’ve seen that, but he doesn’t come that way, some people would probably want something that doesn’t involve cutting, and some people might not want to buy a Cybertron Jetfire, or rip apart theirs, to do this.
ReximusPrimal07
No I know
If you have a cybertron jetfire pull apart his knees then do the same for tidal wave. Swap them. No cutting necessary
Edit:
This isn’t mine but it shows the knees

He’s talking about the actual Tidal Wave toy, not the Broadside cosplaying as Tidal Wave from that one Titans Return boxset.
KABAR432
who is Insectron?
JoeScibelli
I should clarify; new toys that aren't over $80. Like I doubt I'm gonna put a T30 Waspinator-esque Insectron on my shelf anytime soon.
Digger
I dunno man. The MP beast wars range is going pretty strong.
JoeScibelli
You should take a look over Shapeways, plenty of great options for those. Blitzwing in particular has a really nice gun option that tempts me.
That said, I think this existing is still just as necessary.
Why upgrade sets for G1 toys? It's the same kinda thing, people just like the toys. Beast Wars makes up the majority of my collection, and I highly doubt many of those characters are getting new similarly styled toys anytime soon. Bring on the upgrade weapons!
