A few days ago we could report that the Target Exclusive Bumblebee Movie Soundwave & Doombox was found at US Retail. It was just a matter of time for the Bumblebee Cassette Pack to hit Target shelves.
These figures are part of the “Bumblebee Greatest Hits” sub-line imprint which is exclusive to Target in the United States. This Bumblebee Cassette Pack is an interesting 4-pack which includes a redeco of Age of Extinction One-Step Changer High Octane Bumblebee, and three new redecos of Titans Return Legends Class Rumble, Laserbeak and Ravage, now presented as Decepticon Frenzy (in blue color), Buzzsaw (toy-accurate deco) and Howlback (homage to the G1 E-Hobby exclusive character of the same name which was a blue redeco of G1 Ravage).
2005 Boards member roguesaint was lucky to find this pack at DFW North Irving Target, in Texas for $29.99 before tax. For those interested in hunting this release, here you are the DCPI: 087-16-3093.
You can check out the images after the jump ans then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

So who needs a Howlback and CW Buzzsaw?

I just came back from Vacation. Good news, I found the Bumblebee Cassette Pack. Bad news, it took me 4 Targets to find it.

I… Have no words to comment with. *shrugs*

The blue optics are the only movie accurate thing about him! (this is technically movie Frenzy and the first one to have the movie accurate blue eyes!).
EDIT: the Robot Replica had blue eyes too
Predakwon
Wow, I totally forgot. I have the TR version. A Frenzy/Rumble set would be great, too, even though I have red Rumble.
Rather have 1 fig I don't need vs 3.
GizmoTron
Well they might want to put out Rumble (red) first, Takara actually skipped doing either.
Predakwon
I'm stunned Hastak hasn't made a Steeljaw repaint yet.
I hope Taktomy will put Frenzy (blue) out by himself. I couldn't care less about the other 3 figures and they'd just go in the recycle bin.
WishfulThinking
The legion class figures aren't too bad. At least they have full transformations as opposed to the weird Cyberverse scouts.
IceConvoy
I’d happily take a Rosanna I’m place of Ramhorn, although I’m not sure Hasbro would want to even release the pink cassette character.
WishfulThinking
At least Eject and Steeljaw could get away with just being repaints. Ramhorn would need to be an all new mold and I'm not certain Hasbro would go all out on a brand new toy (although in the case of Punch/Counterpunch, they might…).
Richard McBeef
We still need Eject, Ramhorn and Steeljaw for Blaster at the very least. Look at that, 3 tapes, just like the Bumblebee set. Make it happen Hasbro!

I just ordered two to be shipped, I'll have them tomorrow. Seemed way easier than going to the store(s) Brickseek says has them, and not finding them yet again.
If I don't want two, I'll just return one on my next trip to Target.

I meant more or less Generations type figures. So like @TFXProtector says I guess that means I would need to track down Studio Series releases.
GizmoTron
Yeah, instead of running to the toy department, not finding it and having to go through some hassle with some employee who may or may not go back to get the thing, all you have to do is walk up to Guest Service and it will be waiting for you.
Hell, I have the app on my phone, so I really didn't even have to get out of my car, they would have brought it right to me in the parking lot.
Transformers toys are rarely released in a way that you can even do online in store pick-up, people should take advantage of this.

If you mean new molds, the Energon Igniters Barricade is okayish (though he lacks decent hip articulation), and I actually think the Power Charge Bumblebee looks pretty good: unobtrusive electronic gimmick, and a better transformation than the Studio Series VW Bee. Not sure if anyone's interested in a Bee that's bigger than a Leader-class figure, though.
TFXProtector
Studio Series, basically. The main Bumblebee line is all gimmicky and works with electronics or that Energon booster block. All the size classes (minus those shampoo bottle titan figures that barely transform and the electronic figures) should work with that gimmick. If you want other CHUG like toys in the line, you'll need to head to Target who are re-releasing previous toys in new decos or remolds.

So are any of the Bumblebee movie toys going to be good? I saw Walmart put some out and they seem to be Cyberverse tier at best. That's like having a dozen restaurants in town that are all almost as good as McDonalds. The movie seems like it could be OK in a vaguely-connected-to-the-source way (think Dolph Lundgren MOTU) from what I saw of the trailer.

Haven't seen them on the shelves in the Detroit metro area yet, although yesterday (Sunday the 30th) was the last I checked.
DID finally see the Soundwave set on shelves though, but I managed to snag one of those during the week from a stocker.
RobimusPrime
New Hartford, NY still hasn’t put theirs out, yet I was able to pick up the one I ordered online yesterday! Saved $5 using a PayPal credit I had.

got my set on thursday when I went to see the 86 movie in a theater, now hasbro needs to get working on a legends class cliffjumper to finish the 1984 transformers in modern form
