And we have a nice video to share with you. Care of Entertaintment Weekly Website, we have a brief but interesting clip with Legendary Voice Actor Frank Welker who left an invaluable legacy to our franchise as the voice of G1 Megatron among other character over his long career.
On this 2:30 minute clip, Mr. Welker talks about the origin of some of their most famous interpretations (starting with Freddie from the classic Scooby-Doo cartoon) and, of course he has some comments about his role as G1 Megatron and the Transformers franchise.
You can watch the video below and then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Frank Welker, I've always felt he is the best, most talented VA since Mel Blanc, maybe even better, but one thing for sure, if there was a Mount Rushmore of the greatest VA's, Frank Welker and Mel Blanc would be up there

I have to admit thay I usually dont like to see the actual voice actors…but this was nice. But they must have put some post editing in the voice of Megatron, it doesn't quite sound 'there' in this brief sentence.
I remember when the guy who does the voice of Ren and Stimpy was on some tv show. It too literally decades for me to get the dudes face outta my head whenever I watched the show, lol…and that's where my aversion comes from. But guys like Welker, Cullen…Kasem, everyone involved on the cartoon…just legends.

Love you Frank

He's still got it.
And to all those that thought he died…
DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT, DAMMIT!!!!
Megastar
I'm so glad you're both wrong.

It's more a homage to Scooby-Doo, but still it's an enjoyable article.
And it's interesting that Welker could have been Shaggy. Imagine Shaggy trying to slip mary jane to Megatron?

I made the mistake of watching an episode of the DiC GI Joe recently because I heard it was an especially bad one. You actually end up feeling sorry for Cobra Commander/Chris Latta real quick. Both the character and actor's frustration at being stuck with this garbage cartoon is about the only genuine emotion in the show

It had to take an article about Frank Welker for me to sign up.
All hail Hollywood's voice god.
Majestic Senzu
Man, imagine a Scooby Doo with Kasem as Fred and Welker as Shaggy. Welker would have been talking to himself most of the time!

Well, they're actors reading a script, wrestlers are actors playing a script… same thing.

I loved Cravex. I always thought of him as starscream with balls. You know Latta was Darkstorm too.

Love this guy. So glad he’s still kicking.

Suddenly I miss Chris Latta's voice..
– Starscream
– Cobra Commander
– Cravex
For the TF Franchise, iconic voice works for me are Optimus, Megs, SW and SS.
Those kinds of voices that will leave mark in your ears and brains for a long time.

Ya know, as a franchise, we’ve had some absolutely amazing people voice some of our most beloved characters. And not just amazing with talent, just all around good human beings. Frank and Peter are 2 of the best. We were lucky to have them head both sides and launch this franchise.
Runamuck86
First time i have heard him out of character . I only knew about his transformers roles before .
He will always be the definitive megatron and soundwave for me
NOCV
All hail Welker!

"Entertaintment"? Twice!

Throw Baby Kermit from Muppet Babies into the mix and see what she thinks.

What a humble guy. I don't think I've ever seen him with a nasty look on his face. And to give praise to Kasem who was arguably the most famous, at the time, even after all these years…
That's how you do professional, folks. Today's people would be all "I'm not one to talk, but…"
grimlock1972
okay Frank = Megatron and Smoky bear and Peter = Optimus and Venger. i can dig it.
