I'm lost, can you do a tl;dr version? Cause you go off on Star Wars and AvP.
MrNiceGuy
lol I'm not sure even a novel could have salvaged the mess that was The Last Knight.
AutobotAvalanche
Haha you got him good with that le epic roast. All you need to do now is dab over the corpse of this horse.

I can understand what you are trying to say, but in most of your examples they still have humanoid features especially in the limbs. Human proportions with alien heads/slight tweaks here and there.
And use a better picture for the predator and you’ll see eyes and a mouth. Have you seen ANY of the films? Pretty sure you only need to watch the first one to see just HOW humanoid he is. Wanna know why? There’s a human in there. Same with some of the aliens, it’s actually humans in suits for the earlier films. Same for Star Wars. When we gonna stop comparing apples to oranges? Aliens/robots have generally been humanoid designed since the get-go. Of course there are exceptions. BUT!

That first image definitely looks like a tweaked render. And it almost looks like he has a mouth and not a pacifier.
Dinobot Snarl
That first pic is almost perfect, just needs a mouth or faceplate
Optimistic Prime
I like the first pic with bee doing some karate chop or something

Reign of Starscream was definitely my favorite IDW Movie Comic along with Alliance and Defiance.

I've never quite understood why Michael Bay is more concerned that most about spoilers leaking out. I mean, most filmmakers want their stories to stay secret until the movie comes out, but not allowing tie-in media is really taking it the extra mile. I can understand extreme secrecy in a case like JJ Abrams with Star Wars Episode VII (since pretty much the entire world is waiting to see how the story unfolds). In a case like Transformers these have never been extremely twist-driven movies. It's mostly just who dies and who survives, and even then it's mostly just the fanbase (I don't think a lot of casual viewers really speculate on this type of thing the same way they do with Star Wars or something). I'm not criticizing the guy (I actually sort of wish more movies stayed secret longer), I'm just curious what makes him more concerned than most.
On the other hand releasing the novel adaptation this early is a bit extreme. I guess I'll really have to stay away from the internet for a while, lol.

Well, shit. I’m still not quite over Ironhide’s death being spoiled because of the comic.
Sam’s_Bee
So that's why the tie in books died after DOTM, sad because I enjoyed collecting the tie in books for the first two films. Glad to see there back.
SilverOptimus
We are having it easy. Star Wars fans had their entire expanded universe branded as 'Legends' turned it into non-canon.
I really enjoyed first movie and ROTF Prequel comics and Sequel comics by IDW. DOTM Prequels and Sequels became a bit of a mess due to the inconsistency regarding the movie plot continuity (shoehorning in Sentinel Prime). Nevertheless, the comics were excellent plothole fillers. But yeah, most filmmakers think that the movies should be enjoyed without having to refer any other material. In a way, they do have a point.
Novaburnhilde
I enjoyed them too, unfortunately for the most part I'm sure the filmmakers don't consider them to be canon. Which is a shame because other films have really expanded upon their universes with novels, like the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy.
AspiringCreator
As understandable as that is? I think Bay's decision is still ridiculous and that it needlessly punished everyone for something that when considering the existence of stuff like the internet isn't really as overly major as people make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, spoilers are a big problem and it makes sense but punishing everyone for it? I'm not sure if this analogy works but it's about as pitiful as when Nintendo decided to leave a campaign out of Smash Bros 4 all because people uploaded the Subspace Emissary cutscenes to YouTube. You get why they did it but it's also such a major overreaction that honestly it's just ridiculous.
I also really hope they've learned their lesson but if they haven't? To be honest, novels and comics are almost always going to spoil stuff unless you do it like Star Wars does it where you make it clear to people that the novels and comics have to come out sometime after the film or right when the film comes out to avoid spoilers.

Yeah about Bay\'s book banning… he probably had enough and didn\'t want to have the plot leaked for the third time in a row. Ya know that happened for RotF too. Plus the fictional continuities kinda went out of the window with AoE due to Lockdown\'s presence anyways.
Nighthawkblack
Agreed, I wasn't advocating a CGI sunbow with inconsistencies either but no shame for me to admit I'd take a CGI mastered G1 look anyday. Reminds me of what happened to GI Joe, went from semi realistic for our time to monsters and goblins.
