That's what I did with mine when I framed it. Granted, my ticket isn't an actual theater ticket, I purchased mine online, but I still saved it and put it in the frame.

Framed with my ticket stubs. I like it even more now.

Consider that people writing mass media fiction in the 1980s were probably in their 30s or 40s. They saw color TV, the moon landing, personal computers, commercial air travel, etc. The TF writers were also dealing with an established world that was a bit more advanced than the real time period it was based on (laser weapons, Nightbird, etc). 2005 didn't actually seem too far from that 1985.
When I look back over the last ~40 years, there's alot of progress we take for granted. I used to do my research at a library and check out books with a metal stamped library card. Now I have a pocket computer connected to a worldwide network. Even the Internet, I remember watching news programs about it when it was new and thinking it'd never be available here (we couldn't even get the SciFi channel at the time).

My kid and I got to watch this last week. In some spots in Canada, the movie is playing multiple showings…like over two weeks! So we watched it. Got a stack of the posters too…kinda neat, and nobody wanted them so I grabbed extras. No clue how to properly ship them without proper materials, which makes it kinda cost ineffective but if you reaaaaally want one, PM me. They're all in very good condition (not mint).
As far as the movie goes, we were the first ones there…and the movie played to eight people All fans, I would assume. There was that Stan Bush thing at the end which was kinda neat, I guess. Would have preferred a little montage about the cartoon, voice actors and toys but he sang his two big songs and talked a bit. Two people walked out during the credits, which was a LETHAL MISTAKE…if you like Stan Bush
I had to explain during the whole movie to my kid, which was actually not a bad thing…lol. They enjoyed the movie, even though I had to explain that robots don't die, they just 'run out of energy'…because they started to get really upset at the death of Optimus (30 plus years later, it still does it!). I'm glad there wasn't many people to get ticked by listening to a little kid ask a bunch of questions the whole way through. And I'm glad I didn't go solo for a bunch of different reasons, but mainly…
Whatever version of the film they used? The quality wasn't great. Looked no better than a touched up VHS version. And they didn't crank the sound…which I wanted for the theme at least I love the Lion theme song. Remember I'm in my 40s and remember when that kind of music was the mainstream, so it's difficult for younger people to realize why they made that choice.
Overall this was my most memorable viewing of the film. I won't give a detailed review in this section as there's another thread for it. My suggestion is to check it out if you can, if its still playing…I actually hemmed and hawed, tickets and everything (food, etc) make movies expensive so I was like, "I own this, why bother with the trouble" but I'm so glad I did. It's a great memory, and I hope my little one remembers some day many years from now when Dad dragged them to the theatre to watch the robots.

They forgot to start the movie on time. I went with my daughter to go tell them but another guy beat me to it. Funny thing is the same thing happened when I went to see The Last Knight.

Good to know, I was afraid it'd end up being too small to fit right in that size and need matting and tape.

I got a 12×18 frame and it fit perfectly!
franpincho
Wait, what?
You mean to tell me the posters I got are worth something?
wow
IronMagnus
I mentioned earlier, I plan on getting mine fused to foam board. The sizing will be exact, it should help mitigate the horrible crease down the middle, and it will be cheap. Fitting for a cheap poster.
Celaeno
People who got the posters, what size frames are you using for them? It seems like it’s a bit of an odd size and I’m trying to figure out a non-custom framing option.
Chillyn
Does anybody know how the movie did? What the final numbers are? I tried looking it up but I can't find anything.

I know! I wanted to get a shiver up my spine from DiCola's opening music, too! But my theater, or Fathom, had the volume more subdued than they do for most dog movies.
I guess the 2 and a half times I saw in in the theaters in '86 it was a copy that had a corrected effect in the fishing scene, 'cause that blurriness was all new to me. And I was 17 at the time, so there's no 'you were a little kid and forgot' going on there. I've also found it darkly amusing over the years that I was right that they redid Magnus' death scene, because apparently being drawn and quartered is somehow more traumatic than being blown up.

LOL, exactly.

I'm still waiting for my instant pizza re-hydrater / cooker.
Rodimus Prime
Wish I could have seen it.

aside from the flying cars and overboard, was BTTF II that off? they had some decent predictions like video conferencing, large displays… (been a while since i've seen it, trying to remember all the future tech.
I mean, we don't have self lacing sneakers, but Snowboard boats with the BOA system are kind of in the ballpark… yeah he more i'm remembering i guess we're not there yet. (but that's also the fun of sciFi, the "what ifs")
you could take your suspension of disbelief though and say the influence of the Transformers on earth technology jumped them ahead…
IronMagnus
I'm thinking of getting my poster fused to foam-board instead of framing it. It's cheaper, and I think it will help deal with the crease a bit better.

People in the 80's really expected too much from the future. Even Back to the Future took the same approach. It was only 30 years away, things hadn't changed that much in the previous 30 years since the 50's, not sure why they expexted the next 30 to change so drastically. Really the movies should have been leaping 1000 years at least.

I was elated to finally see this in theaters. My only gripe is I wish it had been LOUDER! (I rarely say that about anything). I expected Unicron's voice to shake the walls!
It was a nice surprise to get the poster and I like the art. It's getting framed along with my ticket stubs and hung in my workshop/den.
