I meant light in the sense that's hollow within and not one solid plastic, you could've known if you bothered follow through that entire exchange as I wasn't the first to say that in this kind of term. Furthermore, I saw stress marks in my TR Blurr, so I wouldn't be so sure about the plastic quality neither. Sure they have more strict safety restrictions, but that's only mean the toy shouldn't be harmful, not necessarily good quality.
Generations have become more expensive and Cyberverse which the main kid line, is terrible, hence the somewhat similar situation to Gi Joe in which only adult collectors buy the toys.
You know they're many other plastic products besides simple cheap forks…food boxes, chairs, even electronics etc.
Hasbro just bought all their competitors so they can jack up the prices too, if not more so.
Live-action movies don't help with toy sales as much as cartoons do.

I will probably only buy the characters I don\'t have from other lines such as Slipstream
W-P38
I haven't done that in relation to a mainstream, kid-focused new line since ARMADA. Generations and its sub-lines, on the other hand… I bought every SS figure on the spot, and Prime Wars continues to fill my G1 collection. Let's not forget, Prime Wars, SS, Cyber Battalion, and even MAS are all Generations lines.

Is that $29.99 price tag for the Ultimates? I guess that is one saving grace for the toy line. That megatron is the only thing remotely decent that ive seen

Just got spider shockwave lol. He is good, only problem is only one for box. Two of the others and only one shockwave. Also found in Florida whole wave was in target.

I'll have to see these in person before I buy any. Still on the fence with these.

I'm not sure what other plastic products are out there that you can even compare to the toy industry. I mean they all use a ton of plastic but not in the same way. Plastic forks are cheap and will always be cheap, but there isn't exactly any costs to the company for innovation there and they're produced in the billions. If Hasbro could make one Optimus Prime mold and make a billion of the same Optimus forever and ever I'm sure the prices would come down, but that's not really how it works.
Most companies instead of jacking up prices also had other ways to deal with rising costs of plastic or oil in the past 35 years. They could produce less units, they could (and often do) change packaging to something cheaper. Or like most companies since the 80's simply lay off workers in the U.S. and pack up and move their factory overseas where they can continue to pay workers crap wages.

I'm honestly at a loss for this line. There isn't a single figure I am interested in. Oh well, less to buy can also be a good thing. At least I will have Micromasters again soon!

So this toys are for kids and becaise of that they are so simple, so hollow, because of that the cheap hollow plastic syndrome is so strong in this line.
Some people easily forget they were kids. I remember a toy for kids named Cybertron Leader Optimus Prime and a lot of more toys for kids made of die cast in the 80s.

Ok..so clearly we can\'t go back to the good toylines like ROTF and Prime…..But…..Can we at least settle for Cybertron levels of complexity?….This line…..Is just…..Garbage.

…The GI Joe movie SUCKED. It's toys bombed. While there were diehard fans that watched it and liked it, many didn't. The toyline did not start getting hot until AFTER they started releasing non movie versions and characters that were decorated as, and designed to be modern versions of old characters. RoC Deep Six is more or less a modern Deep Six, and so is Flash from the later waves. We also got the then-cancelled City Strike Snake Eyes, which is the GI Joe Resolute Snake Eyes. The Pursuit of Cobra line was very popular for the same reason. It was a line that nearly ignored the characters as represented in Rise of Cobra and acted as a CHUG line for GI Joe. It was a great line that sold well, and created some of the coolest GI Joe figures ever.
Rise of Cobra was goddamn awful. It absolutely contributed to the Joe Franchise. The 25th Anniversary line was hot until Hasbro wanted to push a movie which…isn't a bad idea in and of itself, but it compromised too much, changed too much. In contrast, GI Joe Retaliation was a MUCH more true representation of being GI Joe without being too much like the cartoon. It's exactly what a movie like this should've been…a good jumping off point for new fans yet also something that should interest old fans. The Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow fight in the monastery was such a goddamn love letter to the fans.
Kids weren't buying Rise of Cobra because they weren't watching it. It was such a failure that Retaliation would no doubt be compared to RoC and it didn't do the movie any favors. The Retaliaion movie was pretty decent, and it's toyline was great, mixing both movie characters and designs alongside classic designed "CHUG" style characters.
My point is that it's less about the adult collectors vs. new fans, because RoC had a hand in killing it. NO ONE cared about transformers after Rise of Cobra. It put the poisoned dagger into the back of an old, old toy line. I would argue that political climate also killed GI Joe, the same way it did during the Vietnam War. I don't think parents were really hot about buying toys for kids, that represented American interventionism, in a climate were we were participating in two very unpopular wars.
I think Generations does a hell of a job catering to kids and adults. Take the dinobots for instance. As an adult, I'm like…holy fuck, finally official dinobots! Kids are like…whoa cool, robot dinosaurs that mash together into a big robot! While I actually LIKE this Cyberverse stuff, I do agree with people when they say that it's TOO dumbed down for kids. Kids are smarter and more picky than we give them credit for. I don't have any of my own but helping to raise a number of nephews taught me some things about what kids like. They're looking for cool, fun toys. That's why stuff like Nerf is popular. Look at the designs. Some of these things advertise huge ranges, or have crazy gimmicks that are designed to excite and stimulate play. That's why I think the Dinobots are a great example. Kids can just mash it together into Volcanicus. Five robots turning into one big ass one? How is that not cool?
Shin Densetsu
Anyone pick up that ultimate Prime? I'll be tempted if the articulation isn't compromised, if it has 5MM ports, ratchets and sturdy plastic. I have the Weaponizer Prime from Prime and like it, this looks like a similar size(same price too).
Wheeljackie
I really want that Grimlock for my evergrowing Grimlock collection

Stop being a dick. I never said masterpiece level of articulation, I didn't even say highly articulated OR ankle tilts. And I really enjoy the look of these figures so get off your high horse.
What I said was ankles. As in, "Transformers Cybertron" type articulation. If you actually took time to understand what I'm saying you might have a clue.
