After the full reveal of the Transformers G1 Score Vinyl Repress, we have information about the new Retail Exclusive Variants.
- Autobot & Decepticon Split Colored Vinyl – FYE Exclusive ($39.99)
- Soundwave Colored Vinyl – ThinkGeek Exclusive ($29.99)
- General Purple And Red Splatter Retail Color Vinyl – Distributed by lightintheattic.net and sold by other stores carrying the Vinyl.
These new color variants join Megatron Split , Optimus Prime Split and Starscream Split vinyls offered via Enjoy The Records Website. Don’t forget that all the vinyls will be available this Friday 6th, July at noon ET. Once again, a limited edition but it seems this will be a much bigger run than the first one.
If you missed the first release, now it’s your chance to bring the legendary G1 Score into your collection. You can check out the mirrored images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

I can’t get back into vinyl

Let me rephrase, does anyone have a pic of the actual repress LP's? (The Vinyl, not the cover)
RKillian
Well, yeah, it undoubtedly came from the generation of artists that drew a big puffy robot and then decided which character it was going to be.
Tirade
That's a really bad redraw….
RKillian
The gun's in front, it's oriented differently, and his Decepticon logo is smaller. Jazz's face is different, Hound is turned, the reflection on Prime's grill is missing, other reflections are missing/different, the sun is smaller, there's extra fire between the ships, etc. It's either really heavily edited or they traced it with some alterations.
stad
Yeah, Soundwave's gun has moved in front of Jazz's gun too.
RKillian
Left/top is the original version from way back. I used it as a placeholder for the "Twisted Metal Magazine" project on these boards back at least a decade ago. I guess I understand jamming Bumblebee in there but WTF was the point of rotating Hound 90 degrees?

Edit: On closer examination…it's a redraw.

The original artwork is fine. This new version has some sort of ugly filter and photoshopped characters into the artwork. Ruins it.

My post right above yours
Mega Convoy
Has anyone bought the new variants? Can't find a single pic online that isn't a photoshop job or stock image and there are zero reviews on youtube.
Predarican
This is some pretty shitty artwork.

That's collector mentality in a nutshell. Too many collectors only want what they can't have precisely because they can't have it. If these were printed in decent numbers, they would languish for months or even years. Then, when they finally sold out, collectors would still scream about "scalping."

Regardless, by producing this second run in even higher numbers, ETR has all but guaranteed no more sellouts and no future pressings of this release. If they had produced the second pressing in half the quantity, they would have sold out and a third pressing would be right around the corner. All while keeping collectors salivating on the secondary market. Resellers and collectors are equally important in this process. As collectors we may not like this but that's how low print, collector sites continue to create wanted items that sell out.
EdHaskel
Pretty sure the Optimus and Megatron versions sold out in like 10 minutes. The Bumblebee version may have lasted 5-6 hours.

It's there, I just made a purchase for one. I just went and purchased every version that was available. The best way I found it was going through all the "soundtracks" and I came across it. You'll probably see The Transformers Movie soundtrack too, just keep going. LOL. Hurry tho, not sure how many are left.

So what happened with the light in the attic version?

Got a shipping notice for the ThinkGeek version. Can't wait!

I hate to put myself in the place of defending him, but he DOES have his handling time adjusted to allow for it being a presale, as well as it is within the time limit allowed for presales. I don't know enough about eBay presales to know if it has to be explicitly stated as a presale, however.
But the bottom line is, the guy isn't selling anything that's sold out, hard to get, or illegal/against any rules – quite frankly, I don't care enough to be bothered to hunt down someone that isn't breaking any rules, just to harass him to eBay. That's karma's job.
WishfulThinking
The first printing only lasted 5-6 hours, IIRC. While that's typically plenty of time, some of us were unable to get to a computer with internet access or were in a place with no cellular reception before the records sold out. Personally, I wasn't kidnapped by ninjas during that 5-6 hours. I was taking my mother-in-law to the hospital and then working the rest of the afternoon.
Anyway, yes, I'm glad I was able to get a copy this time around. And that they made enough for everyone this time, it seems. Keep in mind that if they had produced the same amount as last time, they'd be sold out by now.

Yeah, the dumb ass scalpers getting stuck with their $150 and up 1st pressings. Personally I felt these were not that great, I liked the Soundwave and the splatter one though. But I liked the 1st pressing versions better. But to each his own. Love to have choices. The scalpers really pissed me off last time, it was in my cart, and by the time I entered my CC info, they were gone. Well, and the site had like a limit of 10 instead of 2.
