Official Blog of Viacom (parent company of Paramount Pictures) has revealed the possible identity of the mysterious F-4 Seeker from the Teaser Trailer for the upcoming Travis Knight movie; Transformers: Bumblebee.
Very much like the skillful Seeker, the info went under our radar due to all the entertainment news which popped up, following the release of the trailer. The name was in debate ever since his first look. A recent article from Entertainment Weekly even stated that they’ve kept the Decepticon names all hush-hush.
The Viacom post also stated:
“Before The Last Knight or the Age of Extinction, before Decepticons started leveling American cities and destroying military bases, a yellow Volkswagen Beetle sits forgotten in a California junkyard. It’s been neglected long enough that a honeycomb of bees buzzes beneath its wheel well. Seventeen-year-old Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), takes it home.
“Let me tell you something, the driver don’t pick the car, the car pick the driver,” a hauntingly familiar voice-over – it’s the late Bernie Mac, warning Sam Wtiwicky (Shia LaBeouf) in 2007’s Transformers – announces at the trailer’s opening moments. “It’s a mystical bond between man and machine.””
We don’t want to give away the name right on our front page. You may want to check it out after the jump. The thread associated with this news post may contain the spoiler as well. If you are highly sensitive to possible spoilers, we suggest you to look away now.
Update – the page referenced earlier has since changed, removing the name. Whether or not the name was a mistake or someone jumped the gun, unknown at this time. Stay tuned for official word!

Which is why I don't think Shatter is a Harrier.
Azuzu98
Becauese bee's a tiny vw bug and blitz is a huge-ass jet.
Prime135
And I can totally hear that line in g1 blitzwing’s voice.
Temenos
Movieweb said he spoke too.
I take it nobody got word on the voice actor yet.

Appropriate for Blitzwing…

Do we have anyone here who saw the footage at Comic-Con? If so, would it be possible to describe more of Blitzwing's design? The clip in the trailer is halfway transformed, and kind of obscured. I'm curious what the full design looks like…

Someone didn't get the memo…

If you strip away our pre-conceived notions of what "Blitzwing" should look like based on G1, it's not a bad name for that design and character.
Blitz = an intensive or sudden military attack. (Google definition)
Blitz = an intensive aerial military campaign. (Merriam-Webster)
Isn't that exactly what he does in the description of the footage? Suddenly and unexpectedly pops up to attack Bumblebee? In a bubble, it's actually a more appropriate name than "Starscream". (I get that we're not in a bubble, but I can see why they used this name.)

Oh my goodness, Starscream is Starscream!?!?!?! Unbelievable!

I apologize for the confusion. I had seen somewhere (perhaps here on TFW) that the jet we saw WAS Starscream. So i went along with that. That proved to be "fake news" when it was revealed that the bot we saw in the trailer was actually Blitzwing….the tweet i said about Blitzwing being in the movie got mixed up with everything else..sorry about that

Never remember his name coming up ever. Just Ultra Magnus, Alpha Trion (like what was stated above), and even freaking Unicron.
Conversely, all Geewunners criticize the movies…and everything else.
Albeit there are heavy rumors circulating that they could be looking to repurpose this movie into a reboot, currently it is only confirmed to be a prequel, and as a prequel, it is in continuity with the first 5 movies. As such, this being Starscream is equally nonsensical because Starscream in this universe never looked like this ever.
I also didn't grow up with G1, and I personally think it's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be.
Imma find a definition somewhere of the word "Nameslap" and post it here every time I see it used, I swear. This isn't the G1 Universe, characters are allowed to be different. And for more, see my next response below this one…
The Thrilling 30 Blitzwing toy, which I'm 99% sure is based off of an IDW design for him (can't remember seeing that design in the comics, but they were doing comic designs in that line, sooo…), looks suspiciously like a Seeker-ish body type. It's not that far of a stretch that perhaps Blitzwing was a Seeker design at one point, then "volunteered" to undergo some "Triple-Changer" upgrade. Even if he's not, more than likely they'll never state anything to contradict that idea, so it could still be used as justification.
I want that in toy form from the Titans Return toy, but with the Headmaster gimmick neutered!!!
As I said above, there are heavy rumors, based on some things said by those in the movie and those who are higher-up's behind the movie, that it could potentially be repurposed into a reboot movie. Yes, it's not confirmation, but there's plenty of things that happened in this franchise before that no one expected to happen!

It's actually starting to remind me of the whole "TRUKK NOT MUNKY" bullcrap.
Prime135
You realize you’re on a website based around a franchise for children that gets the bulk of its popularity from toys right?
Ceasar121
You seriously picked that out of my comment to throw shade?
I'm hardly delusional. If you think the attempt to meld the existing lore with the new take isn't why they win, fine. You have an different opinion, and that's ok.
Saying nobody outside 'geeks' cares about accuracy screams exaggeration. Stop trying so hard to be cool and snarky and win an argument noone was starting.
Ephland
It's not a reboot, though.
HoneyPrime
I was hoping it wasn't Starscream. I have a terrible feeling all the Cons die in the movie, and if this is a reboot, I don't think it would be a terribly good idea to have Starscream die it in lol.
