Thanks to their Facebook page, Perfect Effect have unveiled their upgrade set for the freshly completed Power of the Primes Abominus! The set consists of your usual hands and feet, and includes two guns as well, all of which are repaints of molds from previous kits. While the set may seem rather barebones to some, Perfect Effect may very well still have a second kit in the works to help beef the torso up a bit for those looking for a more intimidating Abominus, given their release pattern.
Perfect Effect PC-24 is available for pre-order via our sponsors for approximately $35.99 USD and is slated for release some time this summer. In the meantime, check out the pics below and share your thoughts over in the discussion thread.

For the first time I could buy a kit for a combiner, and I choose Abominus,I wanted to know if this Perfect Effect has the more resistant fingers or other ones are better,I wouldn't that just touching lightly combiner, their little finger pieces fall all around.
Then, for hands and feet is this the best kit?I had read that come Terrorcons could be damaged by feet.

You could just get another Rippersnapper – bbts has him for $12. Whatever you do, ALWAYS sand down the pegs and do a test fit on something with a thicker port like CW Drag Strip before using 3p hands or feet. Every brand – PE, TCW, KO – has enough tolerance issues that breaking a port is a matter of when, not if, especially with ports that have thinner walls like Rippersnapper's.

I just thought Nautilator was an interesting choice since Overbite is also a shark with limbs like Rippersnapper (and is in fact, a retool of Rippersnapper).
Here is the post I mentioned regarding the possible epoxy fix. I haven't done it myself since my own Rippersnapper's combiner port is still fine, but it's possibly something I might need to do if and when the thing breaks. As mentioned, this is a rather concerning issue, since Rippersnapper being a combiner limb is his main gimmick, hoping that Overbite (which is a Rippersnapper retool) doesn't share this issue as it is a "premium figure".

I've always liked scorpions and similar, really hoping Beast Wars Scorponok is gonna be a thing someday.
As for epoxy I have never used before, but i'll be sure to give it a shot in the close future, thank you! :O

Nautilator and not Overbite? I think someone on the thread I linked suggested filling the broken combiner port on Rippersnapper with epoxy, fitting a combiner hand or foot in the port (making sure to cover the peg on the hand/foot with plumbing tape so that the epoxy doesn't get on said peg), wiping off the excess epoxy, and leaving the thing to dry (the person who recommended it suggested 24 hours). The epoxy could provide the combiner port with now "grip" for the combiner hand/foot and fill in the breakage. Not sure how effective this fix might be, so do it at your own risk.

Rats… Well I am kinda tempted to "replace" Rippy with Nautilator (or whatever it's gonna be called) in my Abominus lineup.
Still gonna keep my evil streetshark though of course, but I'm surprised theres no way to say it's combiner port though

What horror stories have you heard? Unfortunately, since your figure's port has already cracked, it will likely get worse with future use, as the thing is already structurally compromised.
I once made a post on this, actually. Unfortunately, the port is cast in comparatively thin plastic that can't seem to take the repeated rigors of plugging in a combiner hand or foot and posing with it (or even supporting the weight of Abominus if Rippersnapper is used as a foot). It's a real pity, considering that Rippernsapper is mainly known for being a combiner limb and is otherwise a rather superb figure as CW-style limb bots go. I'm personally crossing my fingers and hoping that Overbite (which is a Rippersnapper retool) doesn't share this issue, since the Seacons are a "premium release".

If there are, no one's posted them
Its a problem with Rippersnapper's mold unfortunately., its just the 3rd party stuff tends to make it a bit more of an issue

I was mega tempted to buy my first 3rd party hands/feet/anything for my Abominus but after seeing the horror stories i've read/seen on here.. im honestly not so sure anymore
But at the same time i cannot help but wonder if anyone knows of any good weapon sets that would work for Abominus xD
Edit: I've just noticed my Rippersnapper's port is cracked a little bit, is there any fixes?
Like.. maybe green stuff from gamesworkshop?
WereDragon EX
Well, Rippersnapper already had a known peghole issue to begin with, so there's probably not much that can be done anyway.
DrOblivian
I had this issue once with uw superion. After that i sanded down every single peg on every upgrade kit i bought until they JUST fit enough to hild themselves in without stressing the holes

So sorry to bump this, but I was wondering if anyone (US based, only, and with excellent feedback) would be interested in a trade?
Your PE Abominus hands and feet for my TDW hands, hip caps, thigh fillers (with dragon heads) and feet?
You can keep the guns, I'll be keeping this set's one. This is what you'd get:

Please PM if interested. If not, I'll just sell them off. Thanks!

Any word on this?
-EDIT-
Disregard, wrong thread.

I can't wait for the Abominus set. Was hoping for this year, but I guess not….

I realize this is an immensely bizarre request: does anybody own this kit and UW Megatronia (the Victorion repaint), would you be willing to take a pic with the Abominus hands and feet applied to Megatronia?

Yikes, it is very thin plastic, but that stinks. I may just leave that Rippersnapper MISB for when/if I sell the set if that's the case, but I know Volcanicus had some problems with the pegs specifically related to the PE sets, so filing it waaay down on both the stock and the PE version of the hands may be the only way to save that piece long term. Hard to say, but I wouldn't bother buying another Rippersnapper since it's a pretty universal issue. Abominus came very close to being a solid release from Hasbro, but between Rippersnapper's stressed peg, Hun-Grrr's terrible stickers, and the paint chipping on the Abominus head, he's not aging very well at all.
Kenchanayoh
Problem is that they were stressing even with stock hands. Other limbs don’t seem to have the same isssues.
lordcryotek
Gotta shave the peg on the perfect effect hands down if you want to use them with the Terrorcons. I made the mistake of putting Bruticus' set into Rippersnapper and popped his peg-hole nearly in-half. I have a second Rippersnapper MISB for whenever he breaks permanently, but it seems to be holding just fine with the stock hand. So, I think the best solution is to not buy the perfect effect set for Abominus, but try shaving those pegs down and see if that keeps the peg-hole from cracking.
Kenchanayoh
Three different Rippersnappers, and still the peg-holes are stressed on each one. I give up
