Studio Series Blackout became a fan-favorite mold even before his release into the market. Finally in the hands of movie collectors, most fans were mostly satisfied with this new mold. But there is one design element that was not so well received: Blackout hands. The position and the fact that they are not so articulated was something many fans wanted to be improved.
Third Party Shockwave Lab takes the opportunity and is bringing you their kit SL-28: A pair of Articulated Hands for Studio Series SS-08 Blackout. The images, shared via Shockwave Lab Weibo, show articulated movie-accurate 3-finger hands. They seem to have a wrist articulation too. It is still unknown how you have to install these hands. Since Blackout hands are pinned through, it seems the new hands may use a wrist adapter. In any case, we can’t assure they integrate into the transformation.
No price or release date yet, but you can check out the images attached to this news post and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

I’ve checked. Seems it’s out of stock there

Check eBay.

Hmm. I’m looking around for these and it seems every retailer is sold out. Was I too late to get these, or will some sites eventually get new stock?

Yup, they reply quickly and send replacements if needed, I always buy Matrix Workshop and Shockwave Lab stuff there.

Are they reliable?
wingsaber86
Tfsafari has them avaiable.

You can find them on eBay sometimes.

I'm assuming these are no longer available?

Got my replacement hand just a few minutes ago, and it's great. I'd like to amend my previous angry comment – If you're going to buy this, buy from Johosotony! Even if you get a dud pair like mine, He's very courteous and will help you out.

Joho has always been a great seller. Never had any issues with him.
Cosbydaf
Yeah, I bought from Johosotony. I sent him a message about the situation and he told me he'd send a replacement right hand. Hopefully it works out. The left hand functions very nicely and I do want to have a complete pair.
Lord Dcast
Which site did you use? You should ask for a replacement.
I used Johosotony, and he'd be happy to send a replacement.
Cosbydaf
True. I was just frustrated because it seemed like the package was battered around during shipping and broke, but I could have just been unlucky and gotten a defect pair. Seller said he would send a replacement hand.
Lord Dcast
For most people, I think that's impossible since the manufacturer is Chinese.

Got my set here today. The right hand is fine – but the left wrist shattered into 4 different pieces as soon as I got it out of the box. Amazing 3D print quality! Doesn't help that the shipping box only contained one tiny sheet of bubble wrap around a smaller box to protect it.
Don't buy this if it has to be shipped internationally.

Does uncle billy still have these in stock?
I found a complete unbroken blackout at dirt cheap today for $20 and looking to get these hands for it
Shmoptimus Prime
Yes indeed. And each finger should have two joints. I think you just got unlucky. Sorry
