Via DX9 Facebook we can share a great gallery of their upcoming DX9 Montana (Masterpiece Scaled G1 Breakdown) for your viewing pleasure.
DX9 D-13 Montana really shines on these pictures, showing an impressive level of poseability with great dynamic poses and the car mode features folding headlights and movable doors. Both robot and car mode design are very cartoon-accurate, great for fans of the G1 Sunbow animation style. We can all see some comparison pictures with other 3P and official Masterpiece scaled figures. The figure will include a little accessory: The remote for the Stunticons from the episode they first appeared.
You can click on the bar to see the mirrored gallery, and then join to the ongoing discussion at the respective thread on our forums. You can also pre-order Montana in our sponsors below

Any customers Down Under looking for latest release Capone? Saviers Toys has him newly listed as in stock – with only 1 remaining:

Always been fully painted, it’s why they included large spare sections of figure in cad rod paint chips. Can’t remember if any of the re-issues came with those spare parts or not.

Gotcha! Thats interesting to know. Did Montana have white plastic and metallic white paint applied on top or was the figure just white plastic?
Curium
IIRC the original Montana ended up largely grey due to a manufacturing error, then later they fixed it to being white.

Really appreciate this! That confirms what I’ve been noticing on the reissue set. I just received the reissue Montana and judging by reviews and online photos, it looks like his colors have been slightly altered as well. Did the original Montana have sparkly silver/white paint on his hips, crotch, and hood of his car?

How is the quality of the latest Dx9 release? I read some fit-up and tolerance complaints about Hanzo and Gabriel last year and am hoping with the new Legends figures and the upcoming Datsuns and Sideswipe figures, that Dx9 is getting their act back together.

Sorry for the late reply, but this is the most egregious of the scuff marks. There's several smaller ones elsewhere, but they're not particularly noticeable due to the darker colour.

Also, here's the best pic I could get of the colour differences, with the new one on the left. It's definitely black compared to the charcoal grey of thr first release, and the purple inserts are darker. Plus the first release has some metallic flecks I'm the plastic which the rerelease lacks.
Hope this helps.

Are you able to post some pictures of these issues? This is the first I’m seeing an instance of all of that.

Finally had a chance to install the front leg adapters from pezley. I know it's not animation accurate, but if i'm gonna be displaying him on a shelf next to Dx9 Gabriel, it just looks more interesting with the cars out front. Not hidden behind some non-descript grey shins.

Well I'm on a G2 thing atm and having road tested the four XTB carbots and bailing, I've turned to DX9's offerings. XTB's were a bit shit, frankly.
G2 Montana is en route, which I'm looking forward to. Also their Dragstrip and Deadend. Henry/Wildrider not so much based on reviews and the QC issues with the waist.
However I'm here for the G2 combined mode tbh – hopefully sans G1 recent reissue issues – and with the upgrade to have the leg cars at the front, of course!
Come on DX9 let's be seeing the final G2 flamboyance please!

I actually have one trailer with two shades of gray. ONE, I mean 1 panel is darker than the rest. I can't seem to catch it in a photo because it's so slightly different.
I didn't catch the color differences you mentioned on the purple, but definitely have those surface scratches on the black too. Its unfortunate they went so far to try to improve certain things on this reissue but also went backwards on the QC too.

Sooo…. I went ahead a got the Capone reissue, my decision based on several factors including, but not limited to: The original having dodgy ratchets I had to repair (poorly), a lost bug gun, a sale at ShowZ, painted elbow envy, and general financial irresponsibility.
I thought I'd bring this up because there's one fairly notable difference I don't think anybody else has mentioned yet: The main colour of the body has been changed from a dark grey to straight-up black, plus the translucent purple insets are darker as well (making the detailing behind them less clear). As a result, the painted accents on the chest, waist and thighs doesn't stand out as prominently, but I can't lie: The black really makes the other colours pop and I think I prefer it. I tried getting a good picture of the two together, but the weather here isn't conducive to photography at the moment.
Also, I did run into some QC issues, namely small scratches and scuffs on the main body, but the upside is that the black makes them far less visible. Anyway, hope this helps in some small way.

My Motormaster just shipped from Showz! That sale price was finally the nail for me to go into this set.

I got mine in while I was on vacation and finally pulled it out of the box today. I do have V1 too, if that's what we are calling these and as soon as I opened this reissue, I knew it wasn't going to be good. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, I also bought two so unless BBB got a bad batch, I'm going to assume these are common issues.
First off, I noticed on both the Motormaster cab door on the right side is loose out the box, which only matches what I saw as I went forward to do Menasor.
As I began to un-tab the trailer, a lot of panels seemed too loose than they should've been that it didn't take much to come apart like the trailer doors and even the side flaps for the upper top shoulders. The worse of it all is the purple plastic pieces on the chest and crotch, all have surface scratches that make it look like crap. I remember the V1's having some hit or miss there but this seems way worse than I remember. My V1 is pretty nice and clean so all I have is memory here. Oh! I also noticed the extension of the Menasor legs, seemed not as tight either. I did realize they weren't fully locked but I had zero confidence that was enough, like I do on my V1 copy.
In the end, I swapped the colored elbows out and kept my V1. I also noticed the yellow part does NOT match Dragstrip at all. It's more yellow than a the goldish color he has. Dead End is perfect. At this point, I didn't care about the yellow mis-match because Dragstrips engine hangs down enough and its only on the side and not all the way around anyway. If you do the swap, just make sure you check to see if the ratchets will move up and down (arms are fully straight and curled up), as I noticed the teeth had to be lined up a certain way or I was going to break something, which I thought was odd, seeing the gears should've been all the same and not matter.
So in short, if your looking to upgrade thinking thats what your going to get here, even for the colored elbows, I would say pay someone to do it or paint the elbows yourself and save your safe the hassle of what I just went through. If your needing a DX9 Motormaster, I hope you get better copies than I did because knowing the super tight issues of V1, its a crap shoot in either direction.
The Rhinestone Ronin
I got mine from BBB and it came with the bug gun.
King Nergil
Does the version from Showz come with the bug gun?
octobotimus
I got mine back then for $20 less than this, and that was before taking some off with points.
Scurv
I remember him being that price for the original preorder years ago.
