We’re back with another photoshoot for Power of the Primes – and we’re unleashing the Dinobots with the newest member of the crew, Slash! A female Dinobot who transforms into a raptor, Slash’s bio suggests she is a tracker – which means she is well suited as a Legend class figure which is usually where the scout and espionage type characters like Bumblebee feature. Slash’s design also features some cool tricks, including a transformation that seems to be inspired by Beast Wars Dinobot. The overall design manages to successfully evoke all the features that made the look of the original Dinobots, really helping to make Slash appear a part of the team.
Overall, Slash is a nice figure. Both modes are nicely poseable, though the raptor mode has some balance issues. Slash is also a figure who really needs a weapon – we recommend the axe from the 2013 Generations Orion Pax, as Slash looks pretty awesome with an axe or polearm. Check out her gallery below – we’ve got some shots of Slash with a couple of different weapons for your viewing pleasure, as well as lots of pics of the robot mode and beast mode in many poses. Enjoy!
Power of the Primes Slash Dinobot Mode with Micronus Prime
I’m a fan of how this alternate mode looks. The Prime Master seat on the dinosaur mode brings back memories of Dino Riders.
Power of the Primes Slash Robot Mode
I like how this robot mode takes a lot of cues from the style and the look of the original Dinobots. It makes her fit right in with the original Dinos like she was always there.
Power of the Primes Slash with Generations Orion Pax Axe
I liked the idea of Slash having a polearm or other melee weapon. Orion’s axe ended up looking far cooler in her hands than I’d imagine.

Power of the Primes Slash VS Transformers Energon Cruellock
I like this pairing – in my mind, Cruellock could be a rival for Slash.

I love Slash. Great detail. Great style. I didn’t get other potp dinobots but I got her and put her up next to my fansproject dino team. Matched perfectly.
LeonSteamhawk
I agree with you, I've got mine using the translucent blades from Timelines Ramjet. Might work better with the orange blades from Generations Armada Starscream though.
diablogunner
I agree, a couple inward curved smaller daggers would be perfect Velociraptor weapons…and scare the crap out of kids(see what I did there?)
diablogunner
I had that same issue, but then I made sure the bot legs are all the way back on the underside of the body when she is in dino mode and now she stands pretty smooth, even leaning forward.

I know a lot of people say an Axe or Polearm weapon fits her, but personally I always thought she'd have twin short swords or daggers, and twin pistols. Cause you know a Raptor's most famous weapons are the two claws.
I'd also kinda like to see variants where they change the red on her to blue or black or other colors kinda like the Daiclone versions of G1 molds did. And to have a raptor pack.
JinaSensei
Looks pretty good. Will consider looking for her.

Enjoy this toy very much, but would have preferred the 'master seat gimmick replaced with some sort of 3rd mode with a 5mm peg so a combiner could use her as a weapon…
redwolfbear
Is that a rev raptor from zoids chaotic century????
Optimugatron
I absolute love this figure! I actually gave mine a pretty significant paint job to give her more personality and plan on using a Shapeways upgrade for the dino arms…
Transformers Power of the Primes Slash hip upgrade by heirofthedog on Shapeways
Black Convoy
A very nice toy indeed. I hope to find it at retail here soon

I ended up buying her twice, something I almost never do. She\'s just that nice that I\'m going to want to be able to display her in both forms. And the first one had a loose hip.
I can almost see the episode of the original cartoon that introduces her. We\'d have some of the Autobots complaining about having another Dino-dummy to deal with. Then Spike and Wheeljack would explain this time they based the new Dinobot on a smaller, faster, smarter dinosaur, the Velociraptor. Someone makes fun of her small size, and ends up getting a demonstration of what she can do. Meanwhile the other Dinobots go missing, leading to the Autobots using the newest Dinobot to track them down, and finding the Decepitcons have taken control of the Dinobots using Bombshell\'s Cerebro Shells….
Robogeek28
Definitely love this little gal!
Neko-bot77
I fixed mine, but I had to pop out the pin holding the tail & seat on and fiddle at it with the x-acto knife for a while to figure what needed plastic to be removed. Don't recall what exactly did it finally, but it can be fixed with some time & patience. And bandages…
Night Flame
She's an awesome little figure. Honestly, one of my favorites I've opened from the mainline in a long time. She fits the team and she's a blast to transform and pose.
I haven't experienced the stability issues in raptor mode, but I usually have one foot forward and one back a bit, so it may just be my choice of poses.
Autobot Daniel
Dang she looks nice. One of the only POTP things I\'ve seen as of late (in stores) is wave one legends. Is she worth picking up?
Novaburnhilde
This is how you make a new Dinobot, unlike that Strafe abomination from IDW.
She's a great addition to Grimlock's team.
Jakedc1997
She looks great with FOC Grimlock\'s sword
First Aid
BTW, does anyone else hear the music from “Jurassic Park” when playing with her? “Clever girl!”
Mr. Chaos
Slash represents how you should introduce a new character to a team properly. She fits the color scheme, her design follows the design of the team, her alt mode fits the teme of the team, and she has a role that was lacking in the team.
Honestly, I hope we see more like Slash in the future. I still keep hoping we\'ll get (maybe in WFC) a G1 Scorn or Splash to go with the team.
