Back in late 2015, we broke the news of Hasbro expanding their business in India and establishing a toy manufacturing plant in the aforementioned country as a subsequent outcome from new the business venture.
It so happens that Transformers toys marked as Hasbro India LLP have started to pop up in countries such as Sri Lanka (South Asian Region).
The first batch of items, which arrived yesterday, contains Transformers Evergreen Bravo Assortment (each approximately US$ 17) and the tail-end line of figures from Transformers: Robots In Disguise (each Warrior Class figure approximately US$ 45).
The distribution of the toys were formerly under Funskool India, a company which distributed Hasbro items since 1982 and even had their own exclusive variants. The new batch of toys no longer carries the familiar Funskool Sticker, which you can see from our comparison images.
When we inquired several retailers regarding the upcoming products, they stated that Transformers: Bumblebee movie line toys were mentioned to be arriving next (it is possible that this will take place towards the end of the year).
Official Website of Hasbro India LLP can be found here.

And the stupid posts continue…

I really don\'t care where the toys are made. Just as long as they don\'t call me and tell me I haven\'t paid my Transformer\'s toy bill, in Apu\'s accent.

Okay I stand corrected.

Your screen name is very fitting.

True. However, I don't think Funskool factory operated (for Hasbro products) since 1980s. I did saw some of their G. I. Joe variants back in 2009. After that, the sticker was just there since they do the distribution.
My biggest hope is to see a reduction in price. Currently we are paying 3X – 4X the price in US. Transformers toys are actually considered as Luxury Items in a developing country. We've come so far for this… still a long road ahead of us to go.

Regardless of how you want to classify a new factory in India, my point (far) above was that a Hasbro factory in India is not necessarily going to have the same standards/problems that a Funskool factory is going to have.
SilverOptimus
Yes, they are moving some of the manufacturing there. However, the factory is not an Indian one, but rather an extension of the factory in China.

"Sure enough in an article published on The Wall Street Journal dating January 6th, Hasbro is indeed moving some of its toy manufacturing to India; including our beloved franchise Transformers."

So it sounds like the Bumblebee toyline will be coming in December, not June? That sort of makes sense, considering we haven't seen them at all yet.
Dinobot Snarl
Guys it's DISTRIBUTION, not MANUFACTURING that's coming to India, that means Hasbro gets to sell more toys.

pluto
Wait…45usd for a deluxe in South Asia? That is abyssmal!
Edit: voyagers are 75usd in mexico? I thought i had it ruff in Aus but this seems borderline unethical

This has devolved into one of the stupidest threads I've seen because of one of the dumbest posts I've seen.
Just because you can open your mouth doesn't mean you should. And if you have a thought…don't.

The figures that are showing up, are they from the Indian plant? If so, how many lines can one plant work on at once? Evergreen and RiD2015 were seen, and movie toys were mentioned, will they also be producing Generations toys as well?
Good news for India based collectors/fans.
stad
Different factory/company, different standards.
Not that I don't understand your concern with Funskool products, but these won't be Funskool products.
Aimless Misfire
Whatever. Just wait til ALL Transformers say MADE IN INDIA.
