It didn’t take too much for DX9 to reveal the color prototype of their DX9 Dutch (Legends Scaled G1 Optimus Prime).
We had just reported the first render and information about this release a few days ago. Now via DX9 Facebook account, we hace a complete gallery of this impressive Legends scaled G1 Optimus Prime. Only 10.6 cm tall, but he will include the trailer (completely functional, transforms into battle station), laser gun and the the iconic energy axe. The chest not only can open and reveal a Matrix (molded not removable), but it’s angled and sharp as the animation model. Surprisingly, no images of Roller yet.
No information on price or release date yet. You can check out the mirrored gallery after the jump and then sound off at the 2005 Boards!

That may be an excellent option. Thanks

You might be interested in these, that I made for another board member that wanted him to be as tall or taller than MST Optimus.
If you decide you want GT OP, I have one that I'll sell you for cheap.
WhatWouldSkyLynxDo
He does look good. Looking at him next to the cars he might be a smidge too tall to go up against IF Megs.
Really I just want a classic Optimus and Trailer that will scale relatively well with the IF folks and look nice next to Omega and Trypticon.
kingmob75
I'd have to pull him out to compare, but with a line-up of IF Carbots he looks fantastic.
WhatWouldSkyLynxDo
Ooh. He is lovely. But he might be too tall? Isn’t he bigger than IF Megatron?
kingmob75
I would recommend Generation Toy Optimus (or the KO, which is virtually identical) – he is the right height, and has a boxy / chunky aesthetic that matches well with IF figures IMHO.
NOCV
As far as I know, mine is the only one out there for this Optimus.

Did anyone ever make a hip flap replacement for this guy?
On a similar note, I saw a little 3D printed roller back in the thread – but did anyone ever release a factory-made one?
I’m looking for a Prime that scales well with IF, and this seems to be the only one that does.
(Hoping the NewAge Prime is closer to this size than MS).

I never found the replacements, but got sent a replacement Phonas by TF Source. Same issue as the last one. I did take a knife to the socket though and there was a bit of flash I had to remove. Afterwards the hip stayed on pretty well. I think it's just a problem of sloppy manufacture, not cleaning up the flash that's causing the problem .

Except throwing it in the trailer and ignore it when it rattles around inside? Not that I'm aware of. It's been a while, so if there was something I don't remember it at all.
And just to chime in. Rewind's suggestion about shaving/sanding down the pegs in the legs a little bit is a good idea. That's exactly what I did, and it made a world of difference.
And maybe BECAUSE I did that, the replacement sockets were a big improvement on top. For the most part, the peg-sanding made it so the old socket legs only ever on a rare occasion, but the new ones I've never had a problem with.
My advice; do both–get the replacement sockets and do a little sanding on those posts. Sand the top, bottom and sides of the peg a TEENY bit at a time until you get the desired effect; easy to let go, but still fits snug when transformed.

So, there isnt a way to proprely store an axe into the trailer?
NOCV
My Plissken disagrees. The replacement hips completely fixed the pop off problem. Mileage may vary
lilcarus
nice write up. i didn't even know anyone was even using this thing anymore.
Rewind
Try sanding or cutting down the sides of the rectangular tabs that peg the side panels into the thighs for alt mode. They are tighter than the hip sockets so just by the laws of physics they can cause the hips to pop off during transformation. I used an Xacto and cut a small sliver off of each – they still fit very snugly but don’t pull the hips off.
This is about the only thing you can do to truly fix the problem as the replacement sockets don’t address the real issue.
BloodOfMorrigan
Well as of now the leg won't even stay attached, so anything would be an improvement.
pezley
The replacement hips are all of about %5 better if that. I wouldnt stress if you have them or not. Even with them, he still can't be transformed with out the legs falling off.
BloodOfMorrigan
Anyone know if TFsource has the hip replacements? Just bought the Phonas version and leg was popped off in truck mode right out of the box. Not sure if I shouldn't just return it.
lilcarus
if he had replacement hips they would be in a little baggy.
TF Collector
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just got this guy from TFSource and was wondering if he comes with the replacement hips on or I have to hunt them down from somewhere? I guess worst case I have to 3d print replacement ones…
