Apple’s iTunes has put up a three page preview of Transformers: Lost Light issue 16. This preview covers the first three pages of the issue, with Rodimus and the rest of his crew waking up in a strange place with an equally strange sky. It’s Part 1 of “The Everlasting Voices”, subtitled “Metastasis”, and there is a real mystery on our hands – what has happened to the crew? And why is Drift not picking up Rodimus’ calls?
Check out the preview after the break, and be sure to check out the full issue when it arrives on 14 March.

Thank y'all. Interesting way to use it. Hopefully we get a new one. Considering Power of The Primes is utilizing multiple matrices for Leader figures and we all know how much the toyline influences the comics now, I'd imagine we'll get a new matrix, which will more than likely go to Optimus Primal.
TargetmasterJoe
First, Optimus Prime used it against the Deceptigod at the end of the "Chaos" storyline. Then, "The Death of Optimus Prime" revealed that the Matrix became spent and turned into two halves. Optimus gave one half to Bumblebee and the other to Rodimus. The half that Rodimus got had a map to Cyberutopia. Then, Rodimus used his half of the Matrix in MTMTE #21 to save all the constructed cold Transformers from Tyrest's killswitch, which saved the constructed cold bots, but broke the Matrix half.
Meanwhile, the Matrix half that Bumblebee got stayed with him until he died, then it went back to Optimus.
EDIT: What ArtemisVictor said. Dang it.
ArtemisVictor
OP split it to stop the D-Void. He did stop it, but it left the Matrix empty. Then he gave the two spent halves away, one to Bumblebee and the other to Rodimus. Well, Bee died and the still empty half was reclaimed by OP. Rodimus, on the other hand, completely destroyed his half when he used it to stop Tyrest's killswitch. In the additional prose story, he is said to scatter its remains over the extinguished hot spot.

A new Matrix of Leadership? What happened to the original one?!
WilyMech
I laughed when Rodimus suggested what planet they are one when asking Ultra Magnus if he catalogued it. 100 billion planets even there is Ultra Magnus is not that OCD.
TargetmasterJoe
So, you guys think we'll be getting a new Matrix of Leadership out of this?
Nocturne
Yes, I did. Bloody phone auto-correct XD although, Voltron rocking up would be awesome.
I always felt the Vok were an underused race in TF lore which is a shame since you have a race conducting science experiments on a planet wide scale. That's a cool sci-fi idea!
RodimusSupreme
I assume you meant Vok. And yes it would be awesome! Another nod to Beast Wars other than the characters themselves! And a good way to really flesh out this race.
Nocturne
@RodimusSupreme The Voltron! Yaaaasss, it would be brilliant to see them again.

<3 Naked Raygun!

Every time i open this thread and see you talking about how to pronounce it i get Naked Raygun's Metastasis stuck in my head
which, if you don't know the song, is real fun cus he pronounces it kinda odd and now by the time the issue gets here that's all i'm gonna be able to think of
RodimusSupreme
Yeah, Cancer cells reaching the bloodstream or Lymphatic system that then are transported elsewhere and take up residence in that new area are said to be "Metastasized". As for implications for the story, I can't think of a single thing as to what it could mean other than the crew are spread apart and separated from each other. Probably not, but it's all I got.
I think it would be cool if it was the Vok that did this. Random thought, I know.
Sorry about that.
Murasame
I was puzzled about your post and stopped for a moment, because I pronounced it the way it should be and it took me a long time to come up with an idea why I should have misread it as Meta-stasis. Took me probably too long.
sharkrainbow
So Magnus also sees the matrix, so i'm feeling less like it's a 'they all see what they want' situation and more that pious, heartbroken Cyclonus is just stoked to be dead in a way that Rodimus is not

Not that there's a lot of content here, but here's the bigger images, both linked and uploaded:

Considering the solicit for the following issue, I'm guessing they're in a sort of afterlife and Cyclonus is seeing something different to Rodimus.
Obviously there's going to be more to it than that. It could be a powerful alien force at work, tricking them into thinking they're dead, but we'll see what happens.
TargetmasterJoe
Google tells me the word "metastasis" means "the development of secondary malignant growths at a distance from a primary site of cancer."
I wonder if we can deduce any clues as to what the title means to our heroes in these first 3 pages (or obligatory 6 pages)…
RodimusSupreme
Yeah, I was talking about the medical term. I was reading the news article and thought “I bet a lot of people are mispronouncing this as ‘Meta-stasis’”, so I decided to make an informative post.
ArtemisVictor
I'm just gonna throw this out here: One possible reason Cyclonus might be smiling is because he believes he is dead. I mean, he is quite the religious type, so if he is indeed seeing the giant floating Matrix in the sky, he might think it is an afterlife of sorts. And for the smiling, the possibility of seeing Tailgate again in death?
kmc
Cyclonus shouldn't smile seeing a giant Matrix. I think this is a customized vision and Cyc must've seen Tailgate flying towards him?
Enlighten me to better translate this, thank you. A quick lookup gives a medical term, isn't that what it is meant to be here?
