Via Magic Square Toys Weibo we have images of Magic Square Toys Strongman (Legends Scaled G1 Huffer).
This figure is a very nice representation of the good-old G1 Huffer and, from what we can see from the images, the head has got a very cartoon accurate sculpt. We can also check the image in both robot and vehicle mode, and a comparison pick next to Takara’s Hybrid Style Optimus Prime. A very nice addition to the growing options of unlicensed Legends scaled figures.
You can check out the mirrored images after the jump and then share your impressions at the 2005 Boards!

As minimalist as you can get. A bot and his gun.
I decided to get Huffer after finding that it wasn't as small as I thought. Wished it was blue (as in original release) than purple.
This made me check which releases prior to Optimus Prime (B18) were too small (in scale, to me). They were Beachcomber (B03), Seaspray (B05), Cyclonus (B06), Blaster (B17). So, only some of them.

Thanks! I highly recommend giving it a try yourselves. Super easy and Trumpeter BB Arcee is pretty cheap too!

Those hands are great, and great work on the colour matching.

I saw this in the "Show Off" thread and asked about the hands there before seeing this post. Mystery solved! Very impressive and expressive!

Got my copy in today and while I’m very pleased with the changes Magic Square made with the copy, I still really dislike the fists he comes with. They are too bulky and square and I think it throws off the look of his arms. Fortunately I saw a creative post on Baidu that offered an unexpected solution.

To my surprise Trumpeter BB Arcee’s hands are a perfect fit for Huffer! After a quick repaint to match the silver, I was very happy with the results. His arms and proportions look much more natural IMO. He can even pull off that one Iron Factory pose now.

He obviously needs his old fists for his truck mode but most MS figures offer similar different hand options so I don’t mind the parts forming. The extra options allow him to be so much more expressive as well.

The only big drawback is that he can't hold his gun with these fists but after some minor shaving, I think I can get it to work.

Mixed feelings. I like the more detailed look and black windows of the 1st, the silver arms look better though. Newer one doesn't roll as well.

I just checked my records and MS Huffer was my first Magic Square pick up, way back in February 2019. And this reissue costs even less!

It's a bargain for such a cool little figure

Ordered! I needed some replacement parts for my Shockwave (Recolor) figure that I got from the MS site recently and seeing this new version of Huffer become available for less than $25 shipped after I missed out on the initial run, I couldn't hit "Add To Cart" fast enough
Huub
For anyone interested Huffer recolor is now available on Magic Square Toys website.

I wish his hands were a more defined shape but he is looking good in his new paint!

Bombusbee dropped the price further probably to match ShowZ, things we love to see. It's now 16.99$, less than 25$ shipped.

This is the stupidest debate I've ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. Bravo.

You don't have to blindly follow them, but since they're the IP owners, what they say is the "correct" one and everyone else's opinions are the "incorrect" ones. The preferences of fans will never outweigh theirs.
Curium
They obviously call the shots one what they produce, just like any other company that makes things. That doesn't mean others have to blindly follow them when they could do better.
Magnusfan Nujevad
Since the show is wildly inconsistent with the sizes, going with what official sources say is the only "correct" choice. You can say that you want them to be bigger, but that's just your preference. They own it, they call the shots.
Curium
It isn't about "knowing more". 'Wrong' is more than just knowledge. I never once saw the scale chart in the 80s, or even the 90s or 00s. If the carbots were ever shown that small I have no memory of it. On top of that Takara MP carbots look like minibot size next to MP Optimus and that just looks bad on a shelf. Same with trying to display them in battle against Seekers being too small in the face off. Takara MP carbots are simply the wrong size.
