Yes, we know Bumblebee is a badass because pretty much Decepticon who touches him folds like paper because he’s the best Autobot around because toys etc etc anyway

What is a 2001 obelisk? All I can think of is 2001: A Space Odyssey, which is one of the greatest sci-fi films.
Also I changed TLK to Bay if there was any confusion to what I meant.
transf0
you expect it to be about someone akin to the 2001 obelisk=/= Great.
A visionary: thinking about or planning the future with imagination or wisdom.
TLK, which Hopkins was referring to, had neither wisdom nor imagination.
electronic456
Why would I expect that? Visionary =/= Great.
Perhaps Hopkins was referring to work ethic.
transf0
When Hopkins says "visionary," you expect it to be about someone akin to the 2001 obelisk. Many people know exactly what they want to create, that sense of visionary isn't necessarily special.

I wonder if Bumblebee will have his shoulder cannons, his hand cannon, and his hammer in this one. Or maybe they just give him nunchuckes. And some binoculars because remember he's a scout that can kick you butt.
electronic456
That's not what I meant. He knows exactly what he wants to create. That's what I meant.
transf0
I do not think he is a "visionary" in the same regard as Kubrick, Spielberg, Hitchcock, Tarantino, Cameron, etc.

Nice words, but after hearing ‘nice words and praise’ from the last 4 films…I don’t buy it. Sorry. I’m a downer I know…and I’m sorry.
I wanna have a shirt that’s just “Stop trying to make BumbleBee happen, it’s never gonna happen!” Because at this point…I’m so sick of him. BumbleBee’s character is never set in stone in these films.
-He acts childish…but it somehow seen as Leader material and wise when talking to Sam.
-He is called a scout yet can easily take out a heavy hitter and higher ranked Decepticon like Soundwave
-He’s innocent and sweet, yet cusses for laughs and has a terrible temper
…just who the heck is BumbleBee!?
My hope for the films future is that these characters get to feel more human. Meaning they aren’t just there to look cool and be ‘badass’. If I ask my friends and family who their favorite is and why, they will usually go Optimus or BumbleBee because they get the most screen time and they can’t remember anyone else names (Seriously, my sister said “That guy with the giant tentacle!” and I realized she meant Shockwave XD ) , and their reason ‘oh they are awesome and cool’ they never can say anything else about the character, because there isn’t much else most of the time with these films. I feel like most of my favorites are based around what they could be instead of what they are shown as.
Starscream is one of my favorites and when I tell my friends that, they are like ‘He was just some lackey though who seems to suck up to the other guy.’ So frustrating… At least I still have ‘Reign of Starscream’ (unless that was made non-canon)
Just PLEASE give us a character not a prop thrown in to ‘look badass’ and ‘awesome’.
electronic456
I wouldn't say he was lying. It is true to some extent.

So did arguably the best actor of all time, calling Bay a visionary… lol.

Didn\'t Marky Mark have the same glowing remarks about The Last Knight? Look how that turned out.

Oh, how perfect Camaro is

I cannot disagree, but I will say in all of history we only had one ruler, The Bay. Now we have a Knight

In that case every statement is true/not true depending on the way you look at it. Following that logic you're actually confirming what I've been saying from the beginning of this conversation and that is – she doesn't know enough and yet is telling us why this character is awesome. Alright but I choose not to put any weigh into it (using your words). You might not find it important…but it is to me as is your opinion to you still we cotinue to express our thoughts ever so desperatelly…and what's the poing of all this? Should we eve continue. I do not find it right to define ones' opinion as disrespect just because you don't agree with it and then compare with other opinions which serve as an example of what YOU think is not disrespectful.
Haywired
Ignoring something you are uninterested in especially when it's coming from a celebrity you don't care about not disrespectful. It's just ignoring the backgronoise.
Meanwhil responding in a patronising, disparaging and overall sexist way (the word "girl" used in a way suggesting as if she knew nothing because she's a younger female) kinda is.
She probably knows little of the franchise… But then, she does not need to know. All she needs to know is her role and her parts of the script.
Celebrity's, or anyone else, statement has any significance only if you chose to put any weight into it. Shia's opinion on Bee's name might be important… For him. Disagreement or dismissal of it it's not lack of respect.
Unless you're going to care of act upon every opinion a several billions of people on this planet can have upon anything.
daniel 97
Just because you find something or someone (an actor in this case) uninteresting, this doesn't change their opinion nor does it make it inconsequential. Shia Labeouf thinks the name Bumblebee is really silly and @Gordon_4 has chosen to disrespect/deny whatever Labeuof speaks. However this still does not diminish its significance (the statement). Disrespectful can be interpretend in a lot of different ways. If you find ignoring someone's opinion "ignoring the background noise"…well I'm not really sure what to say then.
Well, sorry if there's some feel of superiority in my comments. I do not really wish to threaten anyone but I will not change the way I feel and I will not miss a chance to express it. My apologies if that makes some feel uncomfortable. While I have my issues with the sexism I will rather not go this path right now. I did not use the word "girl" to suggest anything and PLEASE stop misquoting me. I said a young person (this includes males and females)!

I wish this movie were about a young girl who gets herself involved in something way over her head (is a witness to a mafia hit for example) is about to be killed gets pulled out at the last minute by a talking car. But her troubles are not over as a corrupt cop is determined to use her as a skapegoat or is on the mafia paycheck but nobody believes her so her life is in danger. To save her again Bee must reveal himself, he explains that he is all alone, the only member of his species on Earth. The cop and his cronies run off scared. Then the cops car transforms into barricade. Whole mafia subplot is actually a decepticon plot to. I dunno, rule the world through human patsies.
Follows an old fashioned cat and mouse game with Bee terrified as he is heavily outmatched but trying not to show it. Cue elaborate plot to outwit the enemy which ends with barricade injured but not out. They remove the threat to Hailee but barricade shows up again, threatens Bee and speeds off. Bee realizes that he can't beat barricade and must go into hiding so he leaves Hailee behind and sets off, alone, afraid and hunted. Barricade is shown prowling around. As Bee is cowering, hiding, afraid Barricade finds him. They begin duking it out and it is clear that Bee won't survive. Before the killer blow is delivered a familiar semi truck busts in and sends barricade flying. Peter Cullen cameo "old friend, reunited at last, will you join with me to protect these people blablabla" Bee took such a pounding he can't speak, cue Ratchet "pah, I'm sure it's nothing, I'lI have it patched up in no time " comedy moment to lighten the scene and a little nudge to fans because he never does fix it.
Yeah, I know, it's supposed to be Megatron who destroys his voice box.
TL,DR:
Anyway, sorry for the fanfic, all that just to say I'd love to see a less badass fighting Bee and more a conquering his fears to protect others kind of badass Bee.
daniel 97
Fair enough.
daniel 97
Yes, I do. However I can't remember talking about the cartoon series. I meant the live-action version of Bumblebee. Then again, thanks for explaining all that to me but it really contributes to nothing, so…
