The most recent Transformers Vs. G.I. Joe comic from IDW had a unique look and story that many fans dig. Unfortunately it wouldn’t translate well into fully functioning figures as we know them. In comes Kidrobot with a collection of non-Transforming items to celebrate the series. They have blind-box Vinyl Mini Series figures which stand 3 inches tall, pins, 7 Inch Vinyls, and keychains. All feature Kidrobot’s art style that captures the look and feel of the book.
We’ve run a case of the Vinyl Mini Series figures through the motions which shows off all of the unique molds. There are several chases that eluded us but that’s what happens with blind box figs even if you grab a case these days. Since the theme of this is Transformers Vs. G.I. Joe, we figured we’d go along with it. The Transformers themed pictures from the set are here on TFW2005 after the break. The G.I. Joe themed pictures from the case are up on our network site HissTank.com, which you can see right here!
All of these are courtesy of and available at Entertainment Earth right now!

This makes complete sense to me.

honestly i think its part close up of the camera and part the sculpt of the figures. Typical kidrobot figs do not have so many small flat and straight edges, and in general theyre round and chubby. i think this sculpt makes it hard to apply the deco theyre going for in this TF line. Cause typical dunnys have a higher quality look to them. Maybe their process for paint is perfected for that mold because its what theyre known for.

It's the exact same as any of their other product, if it looks sloppy it's on purpose to mimic the art.

For people who have seen these, how does the paint compare to other Kidrobot figures?
Other Kidrobot stuff looks good to me when I've seen it in hand.
These look fairly sloppy painted in the photos – but – that could be due to the super close up of the camera picking out the faults.

And as we know, it's not like they are giant robots who can get such things fixed easily… Stuff like this or Bumblebee's stupid Dr House cane were things I could do without in TF comics.

Pretty funny, but although I love the comic and style, I'm not really a fan of the cutesy proportions.
Honestly tho, I'd pay good money for official, 'normal proportions' Transformers toys with Scioli paintjobs.

Funko Pops are about my most hated toys and yet they sell more than fucking Gunpla. They even have a whole subreddit where they brag about them being better than expensive Japanese toys when Revoltechs are about only 20 bucks, and they are so much better than those things.
KidRobot's alright though

I effing hate these collectable vinyls! They're cute enough, sure… but the blind box combo with the high prices? Not cool!
KidRobot, Loyal Subjects, and all those other companies have set up a premium price scheme for these little toys I can't accept are worth that much. Overhead, corporate costs, marketing, etc… I get it. Still not worth it to me.
And that's just my opinion, right? No big deal. Except… these things are literally taking over. The vinyl blind boxes are EVERYWHERE. Even in places you wouldn't expect (i.e. Michael's craft store??? Why?). They make too much money, it seems.
My lamentation is seeing these vinyls officially eclipse virtually every other toy in popularity (if they don't sell well, the stores at least like them enough to spam them). And every year, there are more and more. So sucky.

Blindbagging kills my interest in these. Love the aesthetic though!

Why does bumblebee look like he is wearing goth makeup?

I so many kinds of don't get the appeal for these.

I haven't read this comic… can someone tell me why Starscream has a cobra themed "Phantom of the Opera" mask?
Furnace
from a G.I. Joe standpoint, the Cobra characters actually look quite neat! I certainly wouldn\'t mind having a little Destro on my desk!

*ack* these look pretty bad, and the paint apps do not look very clean. Dont get me wrong, im a kidrobot collector (dunnys and labbits specifically) and i love me my TF's, but ill be damned if i spend any money on these guys. PASS!
dragon
dont know what people are complaing about blind boxes for if it is possible open box feel whos inside if its not in clea plastic bag

Me too. If I could just buy the full set of GI Joes, and a few of the Transformers, I'd be happy. If anyone is grabbing these, and doesn't want the Joes, please feel free to hit me up.

I still think it would of been cooler to have the Joe's and bots different sizes. Transformer "7 figures @ $39.99. & "3 Joe/Cobra @ $10.00 But instead they made one of the "7 figures a Cobra Commander. Ugh.
Or what would be even better idea would be having Transformers mini figures as are in a 4" size for $10 & getting two 2" Joe figures for $10. That way when u feel.the bags you'd know if your getting Gijoe or Transformers too! I think it would sell better too.

$50? There is no mini figures or sets for $50. Only the large "7 Megatron
Not everyone thinks it's wasted money. I'd pay $80 for 8 of the Joe's and $50 for the large "7 Megatron hoping they do Optimus Prime and/or Soundwave next.
