Thanks to 2005 Boards member dalianjj for sharing images of the FansToys FT-39 Jabber Prototype in our forums.
This is Fans Toys take on a Masterpiece scaled G1 Blurr. The images show a very cartoon-accurate mold that looks great together with other G1 third season Masterpiece figures like Rodimus Prime or Fans Toys previous releases like Fans Toys FT-22 – Koot (Kup) and Fans Toys FT-24 Rouge (Arcee). The figure will include a rifle and Blurr’s Targetmaster partner Haywire.
You can check out the mirrored images after the jump and then join to the ongoing discussion at the 2005 Boards!

So long as that includes fixes for those side panels, that would be great. But after all this time, I don't think that's coming. Would be nice, though.
tfwmongrel
Nah considering it's not even that great it just needs to be 4th-party KO'd like Cyclonus.

Yeah, waiting for reissue probably is the best way to go but $220 + taxes is the cheapest price I have seen for a while.
franpincho
FT really only needs to fix some tolerance issues and maybe use different connecting pieces on a reissue and this will be perfect.
Getting the right color would be a plus but I’ll take the fixes first.
As it is, the second market price for this is insanity.
MV Steve
I guess not bad for the secondary market, but still expensive plus tax will be added making it a bit more. The free shipping is good though. Tempting but I will still hold for a reissue.

im not sure if the colour would bother me the way it bothers others. And even if xtb announce, they wont release it until im a grandad

I really want Jabber to be re-issued despite the issues I've read about. A reissue or someone else to take a crack at Blurr.

Agreed on reissue needed. I was short on funds at the time, and this is one of the few FT figures I skipped. Also, I have liked almost every color choice FT has made (mismatched plastic/diecast notwithstanding) over the classic media. Blurr is one of the few (maybe the only one) that it does seem like the production colors fall a bit flat compared to promo shots. Having that more teal(?) colour would have given the figure a bit more warmth and broken up the blue monotony more. I haven't seen the production colors in hand for a long time now, but I think that while I'd be happy enough with with a reissue in the same colors, closer to the promo shots is more visually interesting to me.
I also don't fully understand the engineering issues, but I hope FT could address those with some tooling before a reissue.

Hey fanstoys, reprint this thing and take me money.
AliceBreckwith
Fucking hell guys. If you wanna update this shit so bad, tell FT to reprint that thing.

Yep, definitely lavender. This was the first release that started my thinking the final "OK" person at FTs is legit (partially?) color blind. This would also explain the differences in red on CJ and Powerglide and maybe a few other questionable color choices FTs went with.

Oh man, I always thought the colors in the picture @deathsheadII posted were the released colors. I guess not lol.

Check out @franpincho's pic a few posts up, dark metallic blurple

The colors on that figure look like the colors in this screencap.

I tried recoloring him using this screencap, which was right after or before the scene above.

And it came out like this…

Plus there are these images and mine is colored closer to the 2nd one of these.

Which colors are considered "correct"? What do the released Jabber colors look like?

Everytime this thread is bumped I look at the original promo shots blue that is not purple and think what could have been!! bit like xtb runamuck they screwed up the colour on the last hurdle! but hoping xtb runamuck has too much saturation on the photo's

Every time this thread updates I get slightly hopeful for a reissue. But at this point XTB will probably have got to Blurr before FT ever does a reissue.

Man……. I really wish that KO company thats churning out G1 figures would give the Targetmaster versions of the 5 Movie bots some love!!!!! They were never released Down Under in '87 and now sell for a King's ransom MISP these days. The pushback argument I get in discussions with people who could make this happen is always the same: those 5 figures weren't released in their day in Japan. Therefore – there's no appetite for them now. And not getting a toy release guaranteed not appearing in '87 G1 Japanese Headmasters 'toon……
