Via DX9 Weibo account we get some great images of the color prototype of DX9 x Uniquetoys K3 La Hire.
This is a DX9 Toys project that also get the collaboration of Unique Toys to bring us a highly detailed Masterpiece scaled TLK Hot Rod. This figure proves to be very nice molded and with a very accurate alt mode. We have a look at the extra accessories that it will include: 1 energy gun and 1 submachine gun. Additionally, they are offering 2 extra flame accessories for the guns and one Viviane Wembly mini-figure that can hold Merlin’s staff and can sit on the driver seat in the alt mode.
DX9 Facebook also gives us a description of other features and material of this new Hot Rod:
K3 LA HIRE is a royal guard knight.
Its size is matched with the MPM series. The door can be opened in the vehicle mode and put the action figure in.
The car spoilers can be adjusted up and down.It
also contain many alloy parts.
Its vehicle mode is perfectly matched with the real car whose back wheels are larger than the front ones.
The waist is made of rubber tube.
Coming in the middle of the 2018

Yeah I misunderstood what you said. I guess a good example of what I thought you meant is how Hot Toys uses rubber to give their figures a "seamless" look even though that often deteriorates very fast.

Mine is still solid as a rock, and I've transformed him many many times, and I haven't been gentle! Awesome figure.

I think you didn’t really get my comment. I said it’s inevitable because it’s inevitable for any toy. These things over time will slowly break down depending on how much stress they go through. As long as you don’t thrash them around they’ll last you a while just fine. MP figures in general will have way more joints and parts that can get stressed.
Ironically I’ve also noticed tons of posts of people saying various 3p figures broke from just sitting still for a long time, while others who mess with them were fine. So really it’s a lottery. This figure is built pretty well, better than most 3rd party figures. So I would say buy it, don’t be turned off by something that will happen with every toy out there.
G1Wheeljack
If it's an inevitability then I may have to consider selling mine, the transformation is my favorite thing about the figure and if doing that will cause it to self destruct then I don't know if it's worth owning to me. I guess I feel that way about any toy if and engaging with it would do that.
octobotimus
I mean yeah that’s to be expected if you transform him often. In general hinges like that will take a lot of stress over time, and being clear plastic weakens the hinge. It’s likely a concern for all copies but really depends on how carefully someone is with it or how often they transform their copy.
GunplaGamer
haven’t had issue with mine, but mostly haven’t transformed him. I’ll give it a go tomorrow and see. Have had him since release
G1Wheeljack
Reviving this thread because a friend recently had the clear plastic hinge that attaches the windshield to the roof crack on his and I'm curious if anyone else is having the same issue? Worried this might be something inevitable for the toy that's just now showing up due to age.

Ok, here is your secret technique. Press and rotate that plastic spring-loaded part on his foot. When you're done try to gently push on the diecast part with the tab as you try to push the tab in. What I mean is that those parts are not super stiff and you can slightly manipulate them without risking breakage. You're a lot more likely to break them by forcing the tab in. My copy is from this year's batch so yours is probably the same. I literally tried this before posting this comment because I thought exactly the same thing when I tried to get them tabbed in first time.
Hope this helps.

It's hard to describe but part of it is the angle, and part of it is loosening the peg hole (god that sounds wrong) like @Pitor said just do it a few times in robot mode and it should get easier.
svek
I only transformed him once but I remember that feet were a bitch to tab. Die-cast tabs are not necessarily a good idea
Paco Grande
Are you saying there's a certain technique required to tab them in? Not simply squeezing the spring and rotating the tab in? I did try a few times already and it's a pain every time. It's not that the slot is too small which sometimes happens. The tab is in the wrong place entirely. It's to the side an entire tab width. So you have no hope of getting it in. I strongly suspect the springs on mine are way too strong and they are actually warping the parts. I'll try again a few times and then I might try trimming the springs shorter. Thank you for the help!
Pitor
I've had mine for a couple weeks now and tabbing his feet was difficult only the first time. Just try to untab them and then tab back in a few times and you should be fine. Don't even need to transform him. It gets a lot easier once you know how it works instead of trying to force it. Took me a while to learn and I'm really lucky that his feet are still in one piece. And yes, YouTube reviews really make it look easy, but those guys learn the figure first and then shoot their stuff, and even then it's all edited anyway.
Shmoptimus Prime
I actually do think it will get better with use, cause the only times I've had issues were in the first week, when I wasn't 100% confident in knowing the transformation, but maybe it was that the parts were stiffer.
Paco Grande
I haven't seen anyone have issues in the review videos I've watched. I'm wondering if something changed with the 2022 reissue. Like the springs are much stronger now or the tabs are out of tolerance. Because on my copy it's way too difficult to get those tabs in. I'm hoping it's something that will loosen up with use.
Shmoptimus Prime
I rarely have a problem pegging in the feet, personally.
jimmyh
None of those are tabbed in on mine. But he poses and displays just fine as is.

Yup the metal pegs take shit load of time to pegged in but sometimes they peg in in seconds. You just have to move around and it will eventually peg in
Paco Grande
Sorry to necro this thread. I just bought this figure. It's the 2022 reissue. I've read most of this thread and I cannot find anyone mentioning the part interference that happens when you clip the middle hood section into his back. As shown below in a screen shot from Emgo's video, when you tab the middle hood section into the back, you have to force it under the rear roof section. It's possible to do but it's a very tight fit on mine and I'm concerned about paint damage on both parts. Also, when I clip the engine cover part onto his back after I can barely make the tabs reach and the rear roof panel is bending around the hood part. So on my copy anyway, it's a pretty large interference and I'm worried about the parts losing paint or being stressed. When I transform back to alt mode I need to use a spudger to get in under the hood part and pry it free. Because it's wedged so tight. It's impossible to remove by hand. I wasted a huge amount of time on my first transformation trying to figure out if something was wrong with my copy because nobody else seems to bring it up as an issue. So is everyone just bending the roof panel around the hood and hoping for the best? Or is this not an issue on other copies?
I also have a very hard time pegging in the metal tabs on his feet because the spring is so strong that when I squeeze the foot narrower for transformation it's pushing the metal part to the side and the tab is too far over from the slot it goes into. I had to spend a crazy amount of time messing with the feet until I finally managed to tab both in. I've noticed that lots of pictures posted of this figure do not have the feet tabbed in properly, so I'm thinking other people must be having the same issue, or are not aware of it. I'm thinking about cutting the end of the spring shorter to have a little less tension in the foot.
Any tips are very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

What’s the difference between H3 and K3 la hire?
skunkobot
Not shipping price, shipped price (at least it was for me). He’s well worth it, especially if you can’t find him anywhere else. eBay’s an option, but it’s hard to separate the real deal from the KOs there.
