Via 3P TFEVO Weibo account we have a look at the color prototype of TE-01 Hot Fire (Masterpiece Scaled TLK Hot Rod).
This a very impressive and movie-accurate TLK Hot Rod which, according to what we can see from the images, has got an excellent level of detail, and even the back of the figure looks very solid and with only a bit of kibble. It is made to be on scale with the new Masterpiece Movie figures like Bumblebee.
You can check out the new images after the jump and then sound off at the 2005 Boards!

Oh, so they just never actually got stock in.
Thanks for the information.
Stigcrafter
The preorder isn't real, it's been up there for years with no update.
The transformation is definitely interesting, it's not very clean and the QC doesn't help but it does do some neat tricks.
SelectedLime375
Looks like BBTS and TCP both have preorders for this guy. Is this a second run? Seems unlikely that they both just found some stock at the same time.
From what I've seen the main problems with this guy are:
I don't really care about this version of Hot Rod, but I saw a couple videos and the transformation looks interesting to me. How is he in that regard?
Mark Fuller
i expect him to be not too bad.. but nothing to get excited about.
Stigcrafter
He's exactly what you expect, no more, no less
Gargamel
Mine wasn’t actually that bad. Some very loose joints that I had to fix and missing one of the stickers.
However, I must admit that transforming him seems very daunting.
BIOMEC
Well I hope you enjoy it, but as they say in my country: The "cheap things" may end up more expensive in the end!
Mark Fuller
Coz im a tight arse.. lol.. and a dont overly care for the character, but i want reasonable representation. Its 499 yuan for UT.
BIOMEC
Why didn't you get La Hire from UT/DX9?
artimus prime
Thanks. Might be worth looking into.
Mark Fuller
Taobao. I probs wouldn't have jumped if it wasn't so low.
Starganderfish
Lol. I think most peoples are "always in robot mode" because the transformation was and is a nightmare. So that's US$40? That's probably the absolute most this figure would be worth and then only if you really like the character and design I guess. I have zero love for the Bay movies, the Bay characters or the Bay designs
… not even sure why I bought this to be honest.
I was probably drinking at the time. LOL
Also, expect yours to arrive pretty messed up.
The packaging is like a Russian Matryoshka doll of ever-increasing crappiness.
The outer box is a clean white with lovely line-art sketches and looks really classy. The top pops off and you get a clear plastic layer that's scuffed and kind of grubby. Mine has several orange streaks and scrapes at the base where you can see the figure has rattled around and rubbed against the plastic. Take this sheet off, and you get a black foam cut-out, that's just a big rectangular hole, way too large for the figure and doing absolutely nothing to hold it still. And the only thing securing it inside this big foam cut-out is two very thin strips of foam maybe 3 or 4mm thick basically resting across the front of the figure. Remove them and you get to the figure itself, which is just a stinker. Expect hands and possibly head to be loose and detached in the box (they shouldn't be broken, just bouncing around loose.) Depending on the handling during shipping, there may be paint scuffing and chips. And don't bother at all with the included stickers – pretty sure you get two sets of left-hand stickers and no right-hand stickers, they're really low quality, and transformation will tear and scrape them.
I said it before, I'm probably going to keep mine for a few years until every other copy out there self-implodes or crumples into dust and then try and sell it as a "rare piece" … worked for Daca Kronos, at least for a while.
artimus prime
$40 is a good price. Where'd you get him?
The Bucket Kitten
I decided to take another shot at transforming my copy (might as well seeing as it's "going away" once I receive DX9's Hot Rod), and as expected, still can't transform it; and reminded myself why I hate this figure.
harrismonkey
Don't pose mine much and after all the horror stories I've never transformed him- but I absolutely love mine.
Mark Fuller
Yeah i know. Should have said in robot never moving mode. Usually once i position them they don't usually move too much.
Shmoptimus Prime
It seems like all the pieces falling off are robot mode problems though.
Mark Fuller
I ended up biting on this guy at 283 yuan.. it's now on its way. I hope its ok.. will probs always be in robot anyway.
Bee Camaro
It's a shame that he's that bad. I like the legs and the chest better on this one than the DX9, but the latter is better in every other way. Especially the quality, transformation and the head. Those things really drags this one down.
Starganderfish
Figured as much. Just wondered if it had ever surfaced.
This POS is probably my biggest purchase regret … and that’s from someone who bought Bold Forms Gladius!!
